Had a party of 9. We were sitted in the back. Everyone was excellent on helping us surprise the birthday girl. Food was good. My husband was shorted some chicken skewers, but we didn't care to make a fuss. The food pricing was the same as other upscale hip restaurant. I will go again just with hubby and I to have a different point of view

Great high quality food... Luke warm hostesses and manger.... The assistant waiters were great...At these prices why are the appetizers pre made ....we ordered appetizers and less than 3 minutes they were shoved in front of my face which means they had to be although the food was great I feel your staff failed to make a meaningful connection with the customer the supposed to be a dining experience not an assembly line with fast food low service

$4/glass of soda & $5/glass of ice tea was really an expensive drink price they don't tell you about. Cost me $18 in drinks that had mostly ice. The food was very good though. The Bok Choi was an expensive vegetable too. $10 is up there for a veggie. But again, food overall was good.

The waiter could not bring our appetizers fast enough and the only thing that was edible was the duck salad. The entrees came out 5 minutes later. For a Bill of $165 for SoSo food and snobby service... Not a place I will ever return to. This was supposed to be gourmet Chinese but all we had was a bad experience and had to pay to boot.

Misled by Zagat recommendation, best Chinese in NYC, expectations were dashed when told our wonton soup might take some time to prepare, we agreed to have starters first. We were suddenly overwhelmed with dim sum, noodles, seaweed, and soup, overloading the table and all of which were mediocre to say the least. Requested other dishes, crispy duck with pancakes, braised tofu, steamed rice and fish be served separately. Again table overloaded with all dishes. Tofu inedible. Usually a delicate dish, it was far too hotly spiced. The crispy duck tho' shredded had drumstick bones sticking out. Not a good look. We cancelled the fish. Chef wanted to serve it reheated. Waiter, Floride, patient & kind saved the evening from total disaster.

The food definitely lived up to it's hype- the chicken flat noodles were my favorite! Our waiter had a bit of an attitude which was kind of comical, he just seemed to not really want to wait on us which is something i've never really experienced before. Overall, the food was amazing and I will come back.

Had a 7pm reservation on Friday night and was able to be seated by 6:45 right before the evening rush. Service was incredible, food came out extremely fast. The chicken satay is definitely a must! The crispy beef is delicious, and unlike anything you've ever tasted. chicken and broccoli is made in a white wine sauce and is light and fresh, not heavy like most chicken and broccoli. worth the splurge!

The food was very average considering the cost. The appetizers were served quickly followed by entrees too quickly. After that the wait staff disappeared. Getting a second drink took effort and the drink was wrong and had to be sent back. I was really expecting more. The ambiance in the lower dining area was very stark making it clear that lingering was not what management wanted diners to do.

My wife order the surf an turf one of the most expensive meal on the menu and it was horrible says my wife. The waiter was not helpful at all the calamari was way to chewy. The night at that restaurant was just bad. I wouldn't recommand anyone to that place. Overly price expensive chinesse food, you could get from your neighborhood Chinese store. That would be way better.

Overall I had a pretty decent experience at Philipes. However the hostess could be a little more friendly. She came off as pretty demanding in the beginning then calmed down around the time we were seated, and the tables should be sat in accordance to people and anticipated meals to be ordered because the tables are not built for excess plates and glassware. Your table will get crowded very quickly causing your dining experience to go down hill. in addition to that, the waitors / waitresses should remove the unwanted plates / glasses as they bring the food out to eliminate clutter.

We last ate here several years ago and having seen it survive, we thought we'd try it again. Alas, it has not gotten any better than before. The Hot and Sour soup appetizer was the best part of the meal for me. There were three of us, each ordering different entrees: poached salmon, crispy beef, and Beijing chicken. We knew what to expect when the dishes all arrived and they were each covered in the same colored sweet and sour sauce. The beef and chicken were both quite oily. On the luncheon menu we were being offered coconut and grape sorbet, but in reality what arrived had nothing to do with coconut -- rather, it was more pineapple sorbet. We hate to give a glamorous restaurant in a fine part of town a bad review, but c'est la vie.

Phillipe Chow's is an upper tier eating experience nestled in the cover of normalcy of east 62nd Street. Although the outside of the restaurant is finely appointed, the real oppulance is in the service, the setting and in what can only be described as asian cuisine as it was intended to be. The appetizer listings were recognizable and delicious. The entree's prepared for a memorable eating experience and the wine, mixed drinks and dessert offerings all designed to pair perfectly with the menu items. I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone looking for a satsifying asian cuisine experience!

We were about 30 minutes late and they were very accommodating. They seating was very close. When people for the other table wanted to get up we had to get up! Our waiter was very nice and always had a smile. But the music was a little to loud. We kinda had to shout but it was hard because we were so close to the other table. Now let's get to the food. This was our first time we usually go to Mr.Chow but we really wanted to try it out. The lettuce wraps were great! The fried rice tasted like a regular Chinese restaurant.
