Philippe Chow - West Hollywood
writes...
Philippe opened in Los Angeles as the fifth installment of the fine dining Asian-inspired eatery, which first launched in New York, then Miami, Mexico City, and East Hampton. Chef Philippe Chow’s menu offers generous, sharable portions of refined, subtly flavored versions of classic Chinese dishes, as well as his own signature creations. All is presented against the backdrop of the chicly appointed dining space, basking in a bold color palate of red, black and white. Your meal begins with a choice of either the classic Philippe Chow dish, chicken satay served in the chef’s signature cream sauce, or chicken lettuce wraps. Follow up the light, fresh starters with the “Nine Seasons” spicy sweet and sour prawns, spicy velvet chicken, or chicken jo lau. Finally cap off this feast for the senses with a decadent dessert, such as the blueberry almond cake topped with homemade ice cream or red velvet cake.

"
I hate to say it because this could be successful but from when I first went after opening to now I would almost venture to say it was two restaurants. The last time we went they had a private party in bar with a SLIDESHOW on the WALL of the main dining room. So inappropriate and so weird. They actually started speeches at one point during dinner. The booth looked like a diner with multiple holes. Some of the food was lukewarm, some was good, some was gross.
