  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The Fritto Misto was exceptional and we loved the homemade tartar sauce. Seeing the cuts of meat was also a great approach. My husband selected the Kansas City Strip after seeing it and not ever hearing of a cut like that before, tried it and ate like a king. The lobster was a perfect portion (8oz.) and cooked perfectly. The side dishes were ample and delicious, timing of food service was impeccable."

  • "Phil Stefani's is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. I always order the $57 bone-in prime rib steak and it's lovely. Wife eats lighter and had a very nice piece of broiled fish. They accommodate both tastes, heavy eater and lighter. This trip was especially lovely because of Marina, a really competent and observant server who made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend."

  • "We have been here many times for special occasions and EVERY time the food and the service is outstanding. Somewhat different from your typical Italian steak restaurant in terms of menu and portion sizes (smaller) so does not feel like the other chain offerings nearby. Absolutly the BEST risotto I've ever had and each time it changes with the season. Amazing place and great staff. Very loud later in the evening."

The place is off the beaten path just a bit which makes it extra nice because it seems more intimate. The chef does a great job. A must if you are in Chicago."

The collaboration and smooth intertwining service we received from our waitress, staff and even the gentleman who displayed your beautiful cuts of meat was fantastic. We even experienced the wonderful singing from another gentleman. Great night all around. Thank you for your wonderful restaurant."

The staff is very upbeat and friendly - but the best part is the "singing" manager.   • "I went to 437 with some business associates from Europe, and we were treated to an amazing evening!! From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated incredibly well. A warm greeting, our coats were taken and we were lead to our table. The food was delicious, from some of the meats, shrimp cocktail and other appetizers, all were presented beautifully and tasted even better. The main courses were delicious, and EVERYONE loved their dinner. I personally had the filet and it was cooked perfectly, it melted in my mouth. I also had grilled onions, prepared different than most places, but extremely tasty! And against my better judgment, I was forced to eat desert! The cheesecake was very good... but the chocolate cake..WOW!"

  • "437 Rush did not disappoint. I ordered the 10 oz. prime new york strip and it was simply the best steak I have ever had. Sea bass was the other choice and again, it was outstanding. The wine list is very adequate and fairly priced. The service was just right - attention to the table but not overwhelming. Looking for great food and a peaceful atmosphere - then Phil Stefani's 437 Rush is your place. I will be trying out his other restaurants also."

If you want don't want to be wedged in near the table next to you, enjoy a conversation with your fellow diners, and have steaks that rival the "biggies," go here. The service is outstanding (thanks George!), the steaks cooked exactly the way you order, and the sides are not an afterthought. And good Italian food as well. Just off Michigan, it's a convenient location. Don't miss this place."

  • "We had read that one of the attractive features of Phil Stefani’s was the friendliness of the staff. We definitely felt welcome from the time we walked in the front door. The hostess, the Maitre de and our waiter, Francisco, were all friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Everything we had to eat was excellent. Although calamari was not on the menu as a separate item, we asked if we might have some. Francisco never missed a beat and, in a few minutes, presented us with a dish of fried calamari that was tender and delicious. For dinner, my wife had a filet with mushroom sauce and I had the grilled Chilean Sea Bass. Both were handsomely served, tasty and portions were generous. We will visit this restaurant again!"

  • "Restaurant was busy early for Valentines diners. Greeted by very friendly staff, who took our heavy coats for us. Nice ambience. Food was good, service was excellent. The tenderloin and asparagus were perfect, but the lobster a bit overcooked. Looks like they have a good daily Happy Hour, so planning to try that soon."

  • "This restaurant came with mixed reviews, however a co-worker said her aunt enjoyed it so we went for a nice Valentine's Day dinner. Sadly I found the poor reviews to be accurate. My date and I both ordered dirty martinis with olives, it took them 3 trips to get hers right - I gave up after 2. The staff was friendly enough, however although it was not busy it still took quite awhile to get service. The food was a bit sub-par; I had the lobster which came out a bit overcooked and rubbery, and my girlfriend ordered a steak which came out, again, overcooked. The total bill came out to $214 (with tip) but was not worth it. I would usually give a restaurant a second chance but for that kind of money I'm not sure it's worth the risk."

  • "From the time we arrived at 437, the evening was awesome. I noted in the reservation that a booth sit near window was preferred (boyfriend loves booths, me tables) and this is one time that both requests were met. Our hostess sang to us as we proceeded to our table another plus. Waitress and and overall staff very attentive and pleasant. And the meal was excellent and worth the price. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks for making our Valentine's night great!!!!!"
