A word from Phans 55 Vietnamese Bistro - Fullerton
Phans55 started out as a family of foodies who traveled and enjoyed all the different types of cuisines all over the world. We wanted to bring something unique and beautiful that we knew represented our Vietnamese culture and food passion.The idea was to take traditional Vietnamese
cuisine and give it a little bit of a modern flare. This in turn was the beginning of Phans55 whose goal is to offer home-cooked Vietnamese comfort food. We set out to create a new kind of Vietnamese restaurant. Phans55 breaks all traditions - no processed meat entrees,and no heavy heart-clogging sauces. What you"ll find on our menu is innovatively grilled, steamed, or wokked plates over high heat.
We use premium quality natural ingredients, organic when possible, and always fresh every day. We work hard and make our dishes from scratch to ensure our quality. No short cuts. We believe it's just better this way.

  • "We were two out-of-town couples, and we shared this dinner on Valentine's Day*: *We did not order from the prix fixe dinner menu offered that evening. Everything was a la carte. First course: calamari seared ahi tuna spring rolls Second Course: Chilean seabass claypot royal fried rice shaken beef rib-eye steamed rice steamed vegetables All the dishes were seasoned correctly, and the meat and seafood were not overcooked. We especially loved the Chilean seabass claypot. (Make sure you order a side of steamed rice and a side of steamed vegetables, so you can enjoy the flavors of the sauce that much more.) We may have to return each time we visit the area."

  • "My son and I were craving Pho on a cold Saturday evening. So happy I picked this place. The chicken Pho was fabulous. The broth was flavored perfectly for my picky taste buds. It was so good I ate the regular size bowl all to my self. My son ordered the Lemon Grass seafood soup and it was out of this world. We are definitely going back. Pho-sure."

  • "We just discovered Phans55, but it will be out new gathering place for food and drinks. The food was fantastic and the Happy Hour enabled us to drink/eat more than we would have otherwise. If you new to Vietnamese food, this is a good place to start because there seem to be a number of "Americanized" dishes on the menu. This is a help for any less adventurous eaters in your party. The "meal for 2" is an economical way to eat here as well. The food was fresh and delicious!"

  • "Found this restaurant through yelp and it was a pleasant surprise. Phan 55 is a modern twist on the traditional Vietnamese food. We tried the ahi tuna springs rolls (delicious), tofu & eggplant (delicious), and the filet beef (beef was a little bit tough but marinade was delicious). This was our first time and we are definitely going to go back to explore their menu."

  • "It's been a while since I've been back to Phans 55. The food is really good, but the service was a little slow. Nice people, but just disorganized. As an example, we ordered the prefix menu and it came with wine or beer, which did not come until after we asked about it again. Then my wife's appetizer came out, then her entree, then my entree, and then my appetizer. Like I said a little disorganized. I would still recommend the place because the food is good, but just be prepared for a longer than usual dinner."

  • "Great time, Good food and lots of fun at the bar we went on Friday night around 6pm. Jose was working the bar and Thai was helping We had great service and the food was outstanding. We had chicken meat ball Pho, ( not on the menu) and. Rainbow roll, also not on the Menu. Our friends had different kinds of Pho, and they also loved it.   • "We tried pho, ahi roll, and chicken curry. Pho is excellent but the other two are mediocre. The curry was overwhelmed with cumin while its chicken is overcooked. Moreover, it does not reflect how Vietnamese interpret curry, which is distinctively from Japanese, Thai, and Asian Indian cuisine. Probably it's a good place for lunch but not for dinner."

  • "We've been going to Phans since it opened and used to tell folks about it because we wanted it to survive. It appears we were too successful because now it's often very busy and sometimes need reservations. The food is OUTSTANDING, the service is mostly good (inconsistent), and the noise (open kitchen) might be considered excessive by those sensitive to it. We've tried almost everything on the menu and haven't found a dud yet. Happy Hour deals are outstanding and don't skimp on portions either. We find excuses to go to Phans almost weekly."
