My sister and I took my mom there for Mother's Day and she really enjoyed her food and service. I also enjoyed the fact that they gave Mother's Day card to all the moms in the restaurant. Valet parking is also a plus because you can dine and pick your car up after the theater for a fee of $14.00 - which is a great rate for downtown Chicago parking. Our reservation was at 8:30pm on a Friday night so we missed the theater crowd which was good. The service was excellent and they gave my husband a free dessert as part of the graduation festivities. I wish I could remember our server's name because he was great. He played the guessing game with us for the famous people on the wall. Our food was great, timely and we were there a little less than 2 hours. We were business casually dressed and the servers were professional. Service by all was extraordinary and professional, but everybody was very personable. Started off with bloody marys and shared a shrimp cocktail, drinks were great and the shrimp offering was more than enough to share. I had a steak sandwich and the wife had Irv's salad. Both were very good, The dessert cart was a surprise and even though we shouldn't have we each tried something. Can easily see why they are in business, a truly pleasant experience. All the dishes were perfectly cooked to order. Everything was delicious. The mashed potatoes garnered many compliments from all four of us. Our waiter John D was so professional and friendly. He suggested the perfect desserts and knew which desserts had cinnamon. Since we were seeing Big Fish he offered to hold the leftovers in the cooler until after the show. This was greatly appreciated. We had a wonderful evening at Petterino's. The staff was so accommodating and the dinners were so good.
