Petrossian - New YorkReliably outstandingI brought a client for celebratory champagne and caviar, and we had a terrific experience. The sevruga was divine, and my client's entree outstanding. We enjoyed a vintage bottle of Dom Perignon with our food. The service was attentive and professional throughout our evening. I would recommend Petrossian without reservation. After all these years, it is reliably outstanding.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMCavier NoviceThe building that houses this illustrous restaurant is magnificent in design. We were cordially greeted at the door for lunch. The server was attentive. We had ordered the price fixe lunch. Then upon further notice we had discovered the cavier menu. The server became our teacher. He taught us how to order and select various types. of cavier. Bravo to the master. The wine the server recommended complemented our delightful meal. The price fixed lunch was average. I would have like to have more of variety in the choices and wouldn't mind paying more for the upgrade. I would like to go back for a lobster dinner and more cavier.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis was by far the most luxurious restaurant I've ever been to. The waiter, greeter, and servers all spoke multiple languages with ease, to our table and all the others. The food-- where to begin? The best risotto I've ever had-- flavors I can't begin to explain, all layered. I had the steak and eggs for brunch cooked to perfection, and a sorbet that tasted like it had just been cooked. Cannot recommend the place more. The food was perfect, but the service was above and beyond. I went after my law school graduation, and it was raining, and the greeter took a decent amount of time out of her job to figure out a way to cover my degree in something waterproof. I left here feeling like royalty. Feels much pricier than the check came out, too!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive, upscale New YorkExpensive, upscale New York but a very special place. Outstanding service and food. Known for its caviar...which sort of says it all.
Memorable experience, and great for celebrating a special occasion. Not for kids.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent pre-theater menuThe pre-theater menu is superb, particularly if you like smoked salmon and grilled sturgeon.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMa culinary institutionDelicious caviar, blinis, a vodka menu...and great value on pre-fixe!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPetrossian is perfectWe have now been to Petrossian three times and each occasion was a delight because of the service, the ambiance and the cuisine. We will be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGracious Dining in the Big AppleThis is a wonderful restaurant closely located near Carnegie Hall, and a short distance from Broadway. We took advantage of the prix fixe dinner which at $42 was a steal. We were celebrating a friend's birthday so we did inbibe of champagne and caviar which added to the bill, but was totally worthwhile. The staff were most attentive. The food was great - we had steak, smoked salmon, fish etc. The portions were generous. The restaurant was very attractive and welcoming. This is a great place.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMClass actI love this restaurant. The food is excellent with ample choices. The service is top notch. The atmosphere is a blast from the classy past. There's really nothing wrong with this restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to the restaurantI have been to the restaurant before and the food continues to be great. The service is always prompt and courteous. I have recommended this place to others and it very convenient if you have a concert at Carnegie Hall.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCaviar and champagne!Great for caviar and champagne! Delicious lobster risotto! Beautiful service!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA little more warnthThe dinner was good, service could have been friendlier. The server was doing his job with little warmth. They set a candle for the dessert to commemorate our 50th wedding anniversary which was nice. But it was all mechanical and diligent and exact but not warm; ONE COULD ALMOST SAY "COLD". Of course no one sang aND i DOUBT THE PEOPOLE SITTING NEXT TO US KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH OUR CANDLE, SO QUIET IT WAS. ( caps are accidental.)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCould be called the best restaurantThis was my first visit to Petrossian . I am a gourmet person and can't believe that only now I discovered this excellent and beautifully decorated restaurant. I never had a better Chilean Sea Bass, my favorite fish.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant restoresThis restaurant restores one's faith in excellent, relaxed dining for "grownups".4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous, delicious and elegant.aFabulous, delicious and elegant.a quiet oasis in a bustling city.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's wonderful to have thisIt's wonderful to have this elegant restaurant close to Carnegie Hall, where the atmosphere is conducive to conversation before or after a show. While there are some very expensive items on the menu, there are also some reasonably priced selections.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect food and service .Perfect food and service . Prix fixe lunch was a bargain at $29. Would recommend this restaurant any time. I had eaten luch at the cafe which is also excellent. . Best smoked salmon I ever had. Food (I had scalloops) was xceptional4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Special Find! This is the second time we have dined here. Both times were before a concert at Carnegie Hall and of course, this restaurant is only a block away so there is no rush to complete a meal. We especially like the prix fixe option which is a bargain in my mind. You can't beat $42 for a three course meal especially in NYC! We both ordered the sea bass which was cooked medium so it was perfect and not dry and overdone. The peach tart which of course is from their bakery was buttery and flaky with a delcious filling. The bakery merits a visit. After dining we stopped in and purchased several shortbread cookies to be enjoyed later!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSome review was not favorSome review was not favor for Petrossian, but we found again this restaurant is excellent3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch was delicious, especiallyLunch was delicious, especially the smoked salmon tasting plate. Will return often.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-theater dinner outstandingPre-theater dinner outstanding (sturgeon superb). Excellent wine list. Fast service got us to Carnegie Hall in advance of 7:30 curtain.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWatch the champagne overpouring!Ambience and food were very good. The $42 3 course prixe fixe good all night menu with a few supplemental cost additions for caviar inclusion makes the restaurant more reasonable for those without limitless cash means. The intl champagne list is a little pricey. The only downside to the evening was the waiter constantly trying to empty the bottle and pour the champagne to the top of the glasses every few minutes. The overpouring service a little crude as well as not doing justice to the champagne by keeping it nice and chilled in the ice bucket. Since it was a special occasion we had one of the least costly intl champagnes for $115.00 Next time we will have a domestic bottle priced $60 to $70.00 ranges. We will definitely return!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is worth the money. ItIt is worth the money. It is the best meal I have ever had. It is an unique chance to sample foods might one not otherwise--especially if you are into delicacies like pate and caviar. It is definitely old world Eastern European. If you like martinis, have one with dinner. What I like is that they featured a special tea and gin martini--I am not into vodka--and it is difficult to find a drink made with gin from the beginning--without having to ask to substitute the vodka for gin.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMy 2nd time there and planMy 2nd time there and plan to come back. A classic gem!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent - As Always!Great small restaurant. Always quiet, so you can actually have a pleasant conversation during your meal. Of course, the caviar is the standout (the sampler of 3 types works well to share at the table). The wine was excellent and the entrees perfect. Waiters are attentive, but not overbearing. A great restaurant ---- always try to get there when I am in NYC.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for lunch - it was aWent for lunch - it was a wonderful experience - food, service and ambiance were superb!
