  • "This is the perfect place for Sunday Brunch. The menu so good that the friends we brought along made reservations for us to return next week-- their treat-- and choose an entirely different set of food options! Enough said! Excellent dining here!"

  • "We were invited by the Chef to have dinner and watch the fireworks next door. We arrived early and were not only surprised that our seat was inside and not outside, but also at seated at the bar where we remained for over an hour after being told our seat would be ready shortly. We ate our salad at the bar and waited while the staff kept asking if we wanted some more to drink. By the time we got the main course - a hot dog on a bun, the place was nearly vacant. The problem was that all guests apparently were told that they could stay for fireworks even though they arrived as early as 6pm and did not leave. BTW, we went outside to the parking lot to see the fireworks. They lasted less than 10 minutes. The evening was a disappointment."

  • "We chose La Petite Maison for our 25th wedding anniversary; the food was outstanding (everything from Fanny Bay oysters to foie gras), and the happy hour prices for drinks and hors d'oeuvres were particularly reasonable. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and fun while keeping everything running smoothly. The wine list manages to be serious in terms of quality and range, without relying too heavily on common choices. A few Loire Valley light reds wouldn't be amiss, though. The entrées were exceptional in terms of composition and ingredients -- the duck was rosy, the scallops were tender and well-seared. We'll be back."

  • "Service awkward. Saw the bartender and hostess more than the waiter. Sat two feet from bar, waited for every drink reorder, even had to remind waiter what I ordered. It wasn't so busy that it should have been that slow. Food: appetizers, microscopic Foie Gras for $18 on half toasted bread disk, served with kettle corn(?) sweet chewy stick in your teeth. The foie gras itself was delicious but size left me wanting. Soft shell crab was cooked nicely but the accompaniments could have had more flavor. Entrees: scallops, little salty, on polenta, not well seasoned, with peas and corn compote/sauce. Just ok. Lamb cooked nicely, on bed of "grape hash" wife liked it, me again, not memorable. Don't mind spending $200 on dinner, just expect more."

  • "Frantic is how I describe the service. Everyone around us, including our server, the water person, the bar tender/manager(seemed like he was the manager because he continually barked orders to everyone) acted in a hurried, frantic manner. The only ones not in a hurry were us! While we didn't seemed rushed to eat and get out, the overall atmosphere treated us as if we were unhappy, but we weren't. My wife returned a dish because it was over seasoned, and the chef provided her with a complimentary appetizer(duck) that was outstanding. The only negative was our server, who had no personality, and I wished he had told us that the souffle would take 20-25 minutes before we ordered it. Again, the chef came to the rescue by comping a dessert."

  • "There are not many French Restaurants in the Phoenix area. Fortunately, this is the only one you need. It is small and romantic but do not go without a reservation. I suggest the outdoor seating is better than inside; because it is so small, inside is a little tight. Do not miss the Escargots and bone morrow. It is not to be believed; however, it was a hard choice between that and the soft shell crab, since they are not in season for very long. My wife went with the soft shell crab and was not disappointed. For the main course, the lamb tenderloin was outstanding; however, since they serve fresh seasonal ingredients you may have to settle for different dishes. We have been here often and have never been disappointed. "

  • "We waited a long time for the server to greet us, and that was only after we flagged him down. (It wasn't very busy, either.) The food and wine pairing was very good. However, at $145 a couple with tax and tip (during Restaurant Week, no less, without special add-ons), I think it is overpriced by about 30%. The outside dining area was beautiful; but we sat inside, which was surprisingly cramped and lacked ambience. "

  • "La Petite Maison is perfectly located just outside the trendy part of East Downtown Scottsdale. The patio is private and gives a feeling of a garden. The staff is very friendly and professional. We visited this place during the yearly Scottsdale Restaurant week when they serve a 3 course menu for $40 and the food was worth every penny. BUT the pairing wine (at $15/person) was a joke: the glasses contained approximately 2 oz of wine (very pleasant though!): not enough to barely taste it! Restaurant owners don't seem to understand that that week is a marketing event to promote their business and not to make easy bucks! In any rate, we'll be back!"

  • "Was very disappointed by the restaurant week offering at Petite Maison. I am used to much better when ordering from their regular menu. Portions were very small and wine pairing pours were even smaller. They actually had to bring us smaller spoons to be able to get into the thimble sized cup for our chocolate mousse dessert. Definitely not a good value for the $40 price tag plus added $15 for wine pairing."

  • "I have never had even a mediocre or just plain satisfactory experience at Petite Maison. Period. I went for Restaurant Week, having seen the menu on-line, and no disappointment. I started with the black truffle felafel, and the flavors of each ingredient, as well as the aioli and tzatziki-type sauce, remained distinct. My second course was the lamb shank tagine and local vegetable moussaka, with cucumber mint yogurt, and again the flavors blended together perfectly. The bouillabaisse and lamb tenderloin from the Spring menu maintained the same quality of individual flavors blended into a unified whole. Once again, an experience matching previous visits "

  • "We dined on a Friday night with friends. I mentioned it was our guests 40th birthday. As soon as we were seated, a glass of champagne appeared for the birthday boy. Very nice, subtle touch. The highlight for me was the humachi and the fouie gras. My husband was looking for a simple green salad and didn't find one. Only small minor isuue. Would go back again"

  • "This place is great for a date or a special occasion. The patio is really nice. However the food is not memorable at all. The best part were the hors d'oeuvres. The hamachi was pretty good and the mushroom ravioli too. I had the burger which was OK. My friend had the scallops and apparently they were pretty salty. Don't expect much and you won't be disappoint. Cheers "

  • "We selected outside dining. The appetizer (which my wife and I shared) was sauteed foie gras on a slice of brioche. As usual, foie gras is a wonderful treat. I had the lamb tenderloin served in a tagine with a vegetable bed. The lamb was Colorado lamb, i.e. with a much stronger flavor than Australian or NZ lamb. My wife had smoked duck breast (magret) with fig compote. She thought it tasted spectacular. Overall, the food was well prepared, inventive and the service prompt and pleasant. The wine list was a purely French list with a good selection of wines by the glass."

  • "We love Petit Maison. It is a little hidden gem right in the midst of all the hubbub at Fashion Square. The outside patio is complete enclosed by blooming vines and flowers. There are herbs on the tables. The Mimosas for Sunday Brunch are the best we have ever had. The food is always excellent. "

  • "We were excited to try this French restaurant. The food was over all good but can be better. I had the duck which was cooked medium rare but the flavour is in the duck skin and by using a blow torch to crisp up the outside would have made it perfect. The entree was served a hour after our appetizer and that is too long. We wanted to try the soufflé dessert but was told it take 20 minutes, the server should have mentioned that during our entrees. Small details make a big difference. "

  • "Food was...meh. Had Escargot, Fois gras, mushroom stuffed ravioli and duck. All just, meh. Nothing special at all. Overheard table next to us return the dessert with a comment that it was the "worst dessert he has ever had". So we passed on the dessert. Server was rushed and rude but tried to fake it with a smile. We were 2 bites into the main course when the server asked us if we wanted to order dessert. Really? Was not what we had hoped it would be for a romantic dinner. "

  • "Service is always friendly, attentive and the wait staff knows everything about the food preparation. The foie gras starter is always amazingly perfect. The menu is limited, and every dish is divine. Be sure to reserve a table during season, it is a small place. Eating outdoors is especially nice. Expensive, but you get value for the price. "
