Petite MaisonRestaurant Week 2013We particularly loved the pork jowl and salmon, and all the wine pairings except the muscat (which fell flat after the sauterne). The desserts weren't my favorite, but were creative. Ambiance was great, it was quiet and lovely outside on the patio, and we had a drink inside before sitting down to dinner. Bartender was very nice. We look forward to going back and trying out the regular menu. Delicious!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA great little place to brunch! We visited Petite Maison for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely delightful. 3 course meal with UNLIMITED MIMOSAS for $35/person was well worth it. Our table had a variety of the dishes. For the first course, French toast was really good, the steak tartar was excellent, the mussels looked delicious! The second course brought us goose egg omelettes, croque-madame, and a beautiful salmon dish. Dessert for me was probably the least exciting but still very nice. We had nutella crème brulee, berries and cream, and a beignet. Overall, the food was delicious, service was outstanding and it was a great Sunday morning. Will definitely return. Looking forward to trying dinner and maybe we will visit when the beautiful patio is nice and cool.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial in ScottsdaleWith all the great food in Scottsdale La Petite Maison stands out for quaint, romantic and unique food. Must try for dinner date or brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Mother's Day andWe went for Mother's Day and Thomas, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and timed our dinner properly. We ordered black mussels, he informed us they just received shipment that morning so they were fresh. The way it was prepared with the shallots, thyme, and charred lemon was delicious. I ordered braised ox tail, my significant other the roasted lamb rack, his dad also had the ox tail, and the matron of the table had the lobster special. Each dish was flavorful and wonderfully prepared. We had souffle for dessert - scrumptious! We would definitely go back for the wonderful ambiance, service, and food!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for special occasionWe went there for our anniversary. The indoors table and atmosphere was great, but we could have been happy in the outdoors patio. We had the escargots, foie gras. My husband had the steak and I had the lobster which was the special that night. We liked the food, although we both like the lobster better. The service was attentive. I would come back for another date night.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food!I had heard some good things about this place but words alone cannot describe how good the food is at Petite Maison. It is awesome. As someone who's been to France the ambiance and tastes remind me of the French countryside. I had the beef and it was cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth. The oxtail also was cooked to perfection. We ordered several appetizers the mussels were some of the best I have ever had! It was a bit pricey, our dinner for two was over $200 after appetizers, drinks and desserts. I got french fries with my beef, for the price I would rather had some veggies and between the fried fries and the marrow it was just too much fat for me. But honestly, it was so good it's like complaining about the glove box on a Ferrari.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHard to find but worth theHard to find but worth the effort. Small restaurant, small menu but great satisfaction. It's how I imagine a country cottage in France that just happens to have a great chef.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden GemPetite Maison has been pleasant on the several occasions I have been there for dinner. The chilled tomato soup with goat cheese (not gazpacho, folks!) I had on Tuesday was a special treat along with my duck breast entree. The tables were a little tight together inside (outside was more spacious) and due to a large party of 8 women crowded in nearby it was noisy for the two of us at our table. I suspect that that is rare. The first time I went (without the large party) it was much quieter and more spacious on the interior. I tried a variety of appetizers the first time I went (and I shared) and had a really nice special of the evening. I have not been for brunch or lunch yet.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMlast of the breedThe BEST French restaurant in the valley. We miss Mary Elaines since its closing - but this place is A-1 - the real McCoy..5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulMy wife and I celebrated our anniversary. We were given complementary champagne and basically treated like royalty from the moment we walked in. Very comfortable outdoor dining...great food...great service. Not a single thing wrong with this place.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways excellent! We always enjoy our meals here. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. For the appetizer, I had the bone marrow (yum!) and my husband had the steak tartar. My husband had the lamb chops and rabbit ravioli with gremolata and I had the duck with mushrooms and farro. Everything was tasty. We ended the meal with Grand-mariner creme brulee which was just the right balance for the previous dishes. Highly recommend to get over there and enjoy the patio before it gets too hot to be outside. Otherwise, we have eaten at the bar before, too. Great for a special occasion! (we once watched a couple get engaged!). Enjoy!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPetite Maison excels in providingPetite Maison excels in providing the right balance of cuisine and comfortable French. The rack of lamb and scallops were great and the cold soup was out of this world. I am still amazed that people don't know of Petite Maison but when they find it, they actually text me to tell me how great their food was there. Small charming place with the best food in the city...a tall order for Scottsdale. -Jim4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFor my birthday I wanted toFor my birthday I wanted to try foie gras and a souffle, both of which Petite Maison lists on their menu. I was very impressed with the cute, quiet atmoshere; we were one of two couples sitting inside (it was Thursday night), but I'd also love to sit in the outside garden area next time. Our server, Thomas, made some clarifications with dishes I was unfamiliar with and dinner was really great. The foie gras tasted like it was described: soft and buttery over a sweet bread. Main courses were very tasty (steak and grouper), and the souffle was masterfully presented and was delectable to say the least. Superb French cuisine, and a colorful and friendly staff.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a little "gem." We wentWhat a little "gem." We went for quiet Friday lunch and that's just what we got. The food was excellent-- superbly prepared dressing on lettuce topped with chicken or fish cooked perfectly. Light French chardonnay was excellent. Fruit tarte for dessert to die for.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMChef took a Sunday night offChef took a Sunday night off and the food was a tad off key. Still better than most but not the usual exemplary edibles. Continues to be one of our favorites in this area. Service outstanding from A-Z4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful meal had the scallops, wonderful meal had the scallops, mussels, duck breast the dessert souffle. Charming garden dining spot, tucked away so not a lot of street noise
A little hard to find, but easy once you've done it (one block south of Camelback)
A night to remember4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a real treat; small,This is a real treat; small, intimate, great food and first class service. These are the folks who used to have Tapino, our all-time favorite place in the valley. You can't go wrong.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome gem of the neighborhood!Awesome gem of the neighborhood! Romantic and very cool!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Easter brunch hereWe had Easter brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMJust as good as two years agoWe tried several disshes even though we were just two people (we are foodies and eat a lot) Moules, Charcuterie,Boullabaise, Foie gras, escargot, Souffle, Poisson, Creme brulee, drink rose, bellinis.
Service was great Amy and Sarah the sweedish host were outstanding, funny and extremely accomodating.
Made our night that much more special.
Thank you!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNot to be missedAlways a pleasure with wonderful food and knowledgeable staff.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance; small portions. We enjoyed our time at Petite Maison. The patio seating was intimate and pleasant and our server was fun and friendly. Our meal selections were tasty but the portions were small. We laughed afterward that we would have to stop at McDonalds on the way home because we were all still hungry.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat and tasty first-timeGreat and tasty first-time menu. But when you return and nothing changes save one special item, it becomes a bore. Service is great but limited menu makes service irrelevant. Two factors--tiny kitchen and total lack of imagination are the culprit. Will return but only when I forget the menu limitations and order my rack of lamb which was great by any standards. Certainly can do more with desserts where kitchen size is not the issue.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food, the next bestExcellent Food, the next best thing to being in France.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden Gem in ScottsdaleTucked away on a side street in Scottsdale, this restaurant struck me immediately as a "keeper." The waiter actually spoke French, a nice match for the restaurant, and there were small treats like goucheres, a cheesy puff ball, in lieu of bread. We all enjoyed the three course prix fixe menu, a dollar-wise bargain that satisfied but did not leave us stuffed. My only caveat about the outdoor patio is that the chairs are very uncomfortable. Next time I will bring a pillow or sit indoors. Other than that, it's a fabulous restaurant.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was outstanding andThe food was outstanding and so was Amy, our waitress.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful evening, food, wineWonderful evening, food, wine and staff did not disappoint. Escargot somewhat flavorless, other than that, a great experience. Thank you.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThe food was the best ive had in any restaurant ive eaten at in over 30 years. The waiter explained everything on the menu, even the flavor and was very patient with us.
