Petit Robert CentralGreat Spot before the MoviesThis place was great! Our server was outstanding. It was early because we were heading to a 7pm movie but I have been in for drinks at night too and the bar was very busy. All of our food was very good and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill since went all out! (drinks, wine, apps, desert, espressos)5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was greatAll three dishes we had were very tasty, the amount of food is just right and presentation was great too. It was too noisy, a little bit too difficult to talk, but there are other sections of the restaurant where it is not as bad.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMQuick and DeliciousI go during the workday so need prompt service. Boy do I get it. I was in and out in less than an hour.
Granted, I'm a semi-regular, so the waitstaff know what I'm probably going to order, but there's something comforting in that, too.
It's an impressive place to bring a client or friend.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLike you were in Paris! This sweet spot has SO much atmosphere. Taking an escalater up from street side you are transformed into this lovely decorated restaurant. There is a large private dining room along the front of the restaurant which boasts large windows letting in light and overlooking Macy's in downtown. You can watch the hustle of the street below from the tables all along the window. Our water Michael was terrific recommending drinks and favorites. The scallops on squash risotto were amazing as was the pistachio crusted salmon. The staff will pay attention if you are heading to the theatre for a show. This will be my go to spot for dinner in downtown!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMloved it - and they loved our kids!Terrific food and excellent staff who knew what we (and our kids) needed!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surprise! My wife and I were going to a concert and I searched the internet for restaurants in the area at the last minute. We chose Petit Robert and were very happy with the choice. The service was attentive and the food excellent for both our meals and a shared appetizer. I couldn't decide what cocktail to drink and our waitress got the bartender to suggest a couple ideas based on my likes. I would definitely recommend this place to those who want to experience novel tastes and textures of food. Would go again if I'm ever needing a meal in that area of Boston.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experienceI have eaten at Petite Robert Bistro (here and in the South End) several times, and always enjoyed it. This time, I had a special item that was not on the menu - pork roulade (?). It was pork, stuffed with onions and chorizo. Outstanding dish!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery one of our 8 personEvery one of our 8 person group had a terrific meal. I received accolades about my choice for a pre-Opera House event dinner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNice atmosphere, friendlyNice atmosphere, friendly service, good bistro food... altogether an enjoyable package with a good location, especially for lunch or downtown shopping. In the evening it can be pretty noisy if there is a large group.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BLTThe BLT was PERFECT. Best bread, crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes. The portions of salad and fries were not overwhelming. Definitely will be back--I cant wait to try dinner!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy dining companion and IMy dining companion and I started with the Mesclun Salad, which was fantastic. For my main I had the Steak Frittes and was somewhat disappointed. I know that skirt steak cuts are traditionally thin but this cut seemed excessively thin and was more like a piece of jerky. The frittes were just ok - rather bland and could have been tastier if made with herbs.
My companion had the roasted half chicken and was disappointed with the broccoli rabe side.
I closed with an absolutely fantastic creme brulee.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding! We've been meaningOutstanding! We've been meaning to try Petit Robert for over a year now and were surprised to what we were missing out on. It was the perfect night out. The food is amazing. The staff is great. The drinks were excellent. We are looking forward to going back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPetit Robert Central has aPetit Robert Central has a high class feel and the food selection and quality are very good at reasonable prices. Located right in downtown Boston, it is a perfect place for dinner before a show.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPRC is a great spot for aPRC is a great spot for a quick business lunch. The food is first rate and reasonably priced and the service is fast.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal here.We had a great meal here. The flatbread pizza appetizer was outstanding, our fish entrees (haddock with spinach and salmon with horseradish and beets) were very good (if a bit plain), and the dessert (a layered gateaux with raspberry sauce) was terrific. With great service and a moderate noise level (in the room closest to the Boston Common) even on a Saturday night, this was an excellent surprise in Downtown Crossing. We plan to return, and meanwhile, we'd highly recommend it!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a little hard to findIt was a little hard to find But deffinitely worth the effort Everyone was so nice and helpful. Service was excellent. Not a bit rushed. Foodcwas vey good and all meals arrived together adnd they were all hot. They staff made you feel like youbowned the place.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't say enough about theCan't say enough about the food and service! Both of the entries my wife and I had were great. She had the scallops and I had the salmon, both were cooked just perfect. Our server Michael, paced our dinner just right in order to finish in time to make the show we were attending.
I highly recommend this place if your in the area.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy First Choice.Have enjoyed several luncheons at this restaurant. Food is excellent and so is the service. Can converse with your lunch mates without yelling.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food. I enjoyedExcellent Food. I enjoyed the Haddock which was great.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an early dinner thereWe had an early dinner there Saturday night before a show and found it to be quiet and really comfortable. We were able to chat and enjoy ourselves in this lovely end of the restaurant with windows on two sides. Food was great!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMParfaitIt was my first time dining at this restaurant and I had only heard good things about the Petit Robert empire. Two grad school friends and I were catching up and were so happy to have a tasty leisurely meal. As it was restaurant week and this location wasn't participating, it was a very quiet evening with the exception of a large party (which unfortunately was seated directly next to us). As for food, we shared the cheese plate, ordered salads and burgers which were delicious. We also had a couple bottles of red wine. Our server was excellent and gave us just the right amount of space, and continued to make sure our water glasses were filled even after we paid. Affordable, classy, with delicious food, I look forward to returning!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent downtown optionWent for lunch with a group of 5 from the office. I go here often for lunch and to unwind after work. I always am satisified with the food and service. In this case I got a tasty chicken schnitzel sandwich. I find that the food and drinks are reasonable priced for what I percieve as a higher end restaurant/bar. I usually target arriving on or before noontime as the restaurant usually gets very busy for lunch which brings along a lively atmosphere.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been the this restaurantI have been the this restaurant several times previous for lunch with my office and had a very positive experience. The food is excellent and tasty!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely dining room, very good food!I had been to Petit Robert Kenmore several times and always enjoyed it, so I thought I would give the Central/Downtown location a try for a large group reservation (11 guests) on a Friday evening. The dining room at Central is lovely: airy, spacious, and elegant without being pretentious. We had a reliably good meal, and the service was excellent. Same as the other locations, the prices are reasonable, including the wine list. I would definitely go back, either for an intimate meal for two or a larger group.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere and wonderfulGreat atmosphere and wonderful food. Our waiter (Lenny?) was very helpful. Had a business lunch here and everything went smoothly from making the reservation, attentive service and good food served in a timely manner.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely view of lit trees onLovely view of lit trees on summer street one story up. Great place to eat before anything at the Opera House. Food was excellent, and always reasonably priced.12/26/2012 12:00:00 AM
