We were very impressed with this as a lovely restaurant, with excellent food and service, and in a nearby suburb, the first time we went. We returned for a second visit, hoping for the best, and the staff exceeded our expectations! Everything was beautifully prepared and presented, we had enough contact with the waitstaff, but not too much to talk, comfortably, and the evening was, once again, delightful. We will cheerfully become regulars at Petit Robert in Needham!

Have wanted to go for a while, kept having to cancel my reservations, and finally made it. Food was very good from beginning to end with really good cocktails and an impressive wine list. For a party of two with an appetizer, five cocktails, two entrees and a dessert it was surprising how inexpensive it was considering the quality of the food. Would recommend to family and friends and will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Petit Robert Bistro, and are always ready to take our visiting friends out dining there. I love calves ' liver and another of our party sweetbreads, and so we were in heaven. Only weird moment came when the "red ocean perch" was offered as a special. Never heard of that. Perch are freshwater fish and not red. Hmmm. Well live and learn . Or Google.

Classic French bistro fare done well. We were a party of 4 on a Friday night. Service was very good. The waiter had very good knowledge of the food AND the the wine list, helping pair the wines correctly. All dishes(Escargot, Mussels, Cod, Scallops, Duck, Cheese plate) were delicious. The wine, too. We will return.

Brunch was great. Getting together with old friends and the atmosphere on Sunday made the day perfect. Eggs, etc. were done perfectly and very hot( which everyone was thrilled with) the waiters were very attentive and if we had a question : he went to find out the correct answer. Thanks for a very relaxing and enjoyable brunch.

We have always enjoyed the neighborhood feel, great service, and good food. Standards are high and reliable. Unfortunately the dessert standard has been dropped. Very sad to find the best tart tatain no longer on the menu, replaced by serviceable tart du jour, and the gateau very dried out. We will return, but not so enthusiastically.

We weren't quite sure if our 6 year old grandson would survive but the children's menu was actually wonderful and he (and his dad) LOVED his chicken fingers! The others in the group of 9 had varying dishes some of which were amazing and others good to very good. The fabulous were the following; foie gras, trout special, duck, calf liver, oysters, onion soup, tomato soup special The good to very good were: escargots (very salty butter sauce), beet salad (very skimpy compared to the other salad at the table), steak had great flavor but was quite chewy, sweetbreads lacked flavor. The service was excellent for a group this size, and being a lover o French food I'd go back in a heartbeat!

From the host, to the wait staff, to the manager, everybody was very attentive and friendly. Food was fabulous. I had the pork chops and wife had the scallops. Both great. Started off with foie gras (?) and lobster bisque. Delish! Would go again in a heartbeat.

It is such a treat to dine here. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the most pleasant staff. I'll start w/ the food...excellent! My husband & I shared 1/2 doz oysters, followed by escargots (in parsley & garlic butter). The warm bread given to each table was perfect complement to the escargots. For entrees, hubby ordered the special and I had the most wonderful skirt steak ever. It was meatier in texture than any skirt steaks I've ever had, marinated to perfection, and so tender. It was simply the best! We had a bottle of Chateau Le Barry...oh it was perfect w/ my steak. Now the service, most excellent! Our waiter was professional, friendly, & knowledgeable. What stood out the most was Jay, the owner. He really cares for his guests.

A change of ownership was needed and after some early kinks have been worked out & I can safely recommend this suburban spot in Needham. Living 2 towns away this is my closest French option so I want this place to succeed and with the attentive owner watching things I am sure it will. Frankly, nothing was spectacular, but nothing was off either: steak n frittes was a very good portion and tasty. The duck also was well made. The vegetarian option was lacking but a nice try. The appetizer at $16.00, 2 very small sausages over ratatouille, was small. The room is narrow but nicely appointed, the staff very friendly and accommodating. A solid neighborhood joint; with a lively crowd at the small bar...al fresco option as well. Prices are fair.

Met a friend for Sunday brunch, first time at Petit Robert Bistro, and was delighted. It was a lovely day so we sat outside. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, helped fix out uneven table. Water and set ups provided promptly with menus and specials. I ordered the poached eggs frisee which was delicious, perfect poached encrusted in panko. My friend had eggs benedict, with a substitution of bacon, and it also was beautifully presented with two little envelope shaped poached eggs. Delicious French bread and butter was also a yummy addition. My latte was also good. It was relaxed and even though there were families and some babies (and even a dog), there was not excess fuss or noise. I hope to go back again.

We celebrated my BD with the family. It was a Tuesday night, so the restaurant was almost empty. I was surprised, because it seemed to be crowded every day. It was a little bit cold inside, but we preferred to sit on the sofa. I ordered Cape oysters and foie gras. The foie gras was excellent. Wine cart has a lot of French wines. We had a great time there. My little daughter was happy. Forgot to mention: baguette was very delicious :)

We very much enjoyed our first dinner at the Needham branch of the Petit Robert Bistro. We have been to the one in Kenmore Square also, and the Needham Petit Robert Bistro was also very enjoyable! The Hostess and Maitre d' were efficient, and our waiter, although a little pretentious, was obviously experienced, and we had superb service. Our party had different entrees, and all declared their choice to be excellent. Prices were moderate-high moderate, about $70.00 per person, with wine, coffee and dessert. The only false note was offering us a "special" bottle of wine for $95.00, before we had even opened our menus. But that aside, we enjoyed our evening very much, and will return!

We went to Petit Robert Bistro in Needham for our anniversary, and it was a good decision. We had a lovely meal: a nice spinach soup, followed by tender scollops St. Jacques that were full of flavor, and flavorful duck breast cooked just as we had requested. Dessert was several chocolate choices, both delicious. The atmosphere was gracious, perfect for the occasion. This is not the first time we have eaten here, and we have also tried several of the other sister restaurants. They never disappoint.
