For this one, my husband's duck was salty (over-brined?) and his brussels sprouts were mushy with a very bland sauce. My scallops were delicious as were the accompanying carrots. The scallop presentation wasn't great due to spotty browning. My broccoli spear was unseasoned but cooked perfectly. A tiny bit of my rice was hardened as though dried. We both had chocolate terrine for dessert. I detected what must have been some partly dried cooking "skin" mixed into the top layer. That batch should have either been skimmed or started over. It never fails. The service is impeccable from the moment you enter the door until you leave to go home. The menu has something for everybody with the scallops and the hake particular favorites followed by the chocolate soufflé, chocolate mousse, creme brûlée and divine bread pudding with caramel sauce. Even the French bread is exceptional and served warm. All of our party chose the nightly specials; they were great! Although service is usually good, this night was less than perfect. Our dinners came very late; it's a good thing we were not too hungry or in a rush. Waitress was just mediocre. The servers worked as a team, supporting each other seamlessly and very professionally. The food was excellent, and we relied somewhat on the recommendations of a couple of the servers. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The romaine salad was excellent, dressing was light and tasty. One of our party ordered the sole special and the rest of us made other entree choices which we all enjoyed. Two of us decided to share the strawberry dessert special and the other two in our party shared the bread pudding. Portion sizes for entrees and desserts were very generous. We mentioned that the two women in our group were sharing a birthday and the waiter brought 2 candles in our dessert which was very thoughtful. Petit Robert Bistro is always wonderful. The menu is imaginative, served beautifully and divine from start to finish including the warm French bread and sweet butter. The staff is always polite and attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable, from the greeting as you walk in to the goodbye when you leave. Ample parking is available in the huge lot to the left of the restaurant and reservations are recommended. It was a busy Easter Sunday but service was great. The server was quick and attentive. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which was delicious. I tried some of the quiche which was a bit heavy on the goat cheese, but nevertheless had a great time. I had the chicken crepe, which was extremely flavorful without being too heavy. Others in my party ordered the baguette french toast (I had a bite, it was so yummy!), omelets, or salads, and all were happy with their meals. My one criticism is that my 2-year-old son got his meal served LAST and was VERY antsy watching the adults get served one by one. Yes, I had brought snacks for him, but it's still hard for a kid that age to watch everyone else eat.
