Casual dining, but service you would demand of a very formal room.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe're frequent diners at PetitWe're frequent diners at Petit Robert. Can't beat the food or the service. Great meal, wonderful service and a relaxing atmosphere.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre-theater dinnerFood and service was excellent. Been there several times and always a reservation and excellent food.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've frequented Petit RobertWe've frequented Petit Robert nearly every time we've been to Boston in the past three years, visiting my son at college. It's a quintessential French Bistro that has it all-exceptional food, ambiance and service. As opposed to so many new trendy places that have opened around the city, this place has retained a genunine classic character. My favorites are the coq au vin and boef bourguignon, although my son always orders the steak. Desserts are all great. The prices are very reasonable, with most entrees under $25, adhering to the original concept of a bistro as a place for the everyman. I highly recommend it and have found no better eatery in the city.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem that I never knew about,A gem that I never knew about, even though I live only two blocks away. Authentic French cooking, a calm and peaceful setting, very friendly waiter. I'm going back again and again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner, but rushedDinner with my wife and two daughters. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service during the meal was very good. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The only issue was that we felt rushed to leave. It was clear we were holding up a table. The maitre d' was pretty obvious about this, and it left us feeling less than happy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a classic bistro andThis is a classic bistro and one of those"finds" you experience only once in a while. Food is excellent, service is good, wine list is fine (we had a house carafe and it was perfect), and very intimate dining. The latter reminds me of New York or Paris spots, where the tables are close together and all the conversations become intermingled. If you want a romantic table secluded in a spot where no one can see you, this is not the place. However, we have been there twice, once for a late lunch on a Sunday where we had the pleasure of sitting in the front table by the windows and that offers the best for a private conversation. For dinner, we were on the bench row of tables with neighbors on either side, but that worked fine.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Paris! This is one of the most auethic French restaurants in Boston -- really worth a visit, even though it is off the beaten path.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA lively, festive, friendlyA lively, festive, friendly atmosphere, great food, good service. However, it was a bit too noisy.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place to go beforeLovely place to go before the BSO. Service was great -- we had no problem making our concert and were not rushed. Food was excellent.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMour favorite neighborhoodour favorite neighborhood eatery. friendly service and a nice atmosphere; food is good (not great), but all in, a fun, comfortable experience every time.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
