A word from Petit Poulet
Opened in fall of 2012, Petit Poulet is a French Bistro & Wine Bar located near Herald Square.
Petit Poulet’s charming and intimate setting features warm wood walls,
mosaic tile floors, and a classic tin ceiling in an ode to classic parisian bistros.

Located in the Radisson Hotel in Herald Square, Petit Poulet offers lunch and dinner menus,
appealing to both travelers and locals alike. Some examples of the customary French fare includes
French Onion Soup, Beef Tartar, Escargot, various tartine dishes, and rotisserie Cornish hen.

Seating options include tables, booths, and bar seats. Additionally, for a few lucky diners,
we offer special bar style seating in front of our open kitchen, giving them a unique view of our
talented chefs creating meals from scratch.

Diner Reviews
  • "This big-enough-and-not-too-large bistro style hotel lobby restaurant is terrific, and a great find in a nabe without many reasonably priced good places to eat. Something so mundane as rotisserie chicken - a great value there - comes out incredibly juicy and flavorful. Portions are terrific - you'll be taking some home to enjoy the next day. Wait staff is attentive and not annoying, and quite gracious. A find! Tip: Come Tuesday evenings when they have cassoulet on special, a real treat. $20, and again, you'll get two meals out of it."

  • "We ordered the reasonably priced prix fixe lunch. We enjoyed immensely every course! We loved the soup of the day, potato/ leeks and the generous serving of the house salad. For our main course, our efficient and friendly server, Servane, recommended the fish of the day, branzino - and wow, we unanimously agreed that it was the best cooked branzino that we have eaten in restaurants in a long time. The serving was also more generous than what many restaurants offer. We capped our satisfying lunch with the delicious espresso creme brulee served with an imaginatively cut strawberry. I must mention also that server, Javier, quickly granted our request to heat our bread without fussing. This place makes sure customers are happy!"

  • "filet mignon was tasty with au poivre sauce, service was very attentive (never had to ask for water refills), wine selection was decent, mainly french (of course). octopus appetizer was so-so, wouldn't order that again. scallops were very good as was the organic chicken. I'm going back."

  • "The food was excellent as was the service. The ambiance was very nice. I had the scallops, others had the pork and the hamburger with frites."

  • "Starting with the good...Rotisserie chicken was good, juicy, and tasty. The BAD - I was the one who ordered the scallops on black linguine in a wine, butter sauce. The scallops were on thick, goopy, creamy sauce with a few strands of soggy pasta in it. I took the scallops off the plate and when I returned the pasta, telling the waiter that the sauce was too thick, the waiter should have asked me if I wanted the pasta in another sauce. He didn't. Woudl I return if I was going back to MSG? Maybe, but I would be ordering the chicken."

  • "My guests were skeptical about a restaurant right off Broadway and Herald Square, but Petit Poulet was a more-than-pleasant surprise. This French bistro is beautifully done, our waiter was attentive and helpful, the food and wine were great. I had the steak fites and my guests had the chicken in puff pastery. We started with escargot -- which is plenty for three people to share. Portions are healthy sized. And the prices are reasonable."

  • ".....of course I restrained myself but only just! The meal was delicious and very authentic French! The enthusiasm and care given to our meal was evident in every bite. The kitchen is open and you can watch for yourself the passion in which the food is prepared. It this place is great find that I will be sure to go to again and again!"

  • "Our second visit and it was not as good as the first time. It was a quiet night and we will try again. The chicken for two was good but at our first.visit it was spectacular."

  • "We had a great meal. Roasted chicken was a highlight of the evening but everything we had was good. The service was a bit slow but good. Take a chance."

  • "This little French restaurant is well worth a visit. My dining partner and myself went for Sunday brunch and boy was it good! Our waiter was so attentive and helpful during our entire visit. I had the duck confit hash with 2 poached eggs. This dish is perfect if you're in the mood for a heavier breakfast. My friend had an enormous meal-sized salad with chicken, craisins and brie cheese. It looked delicious. I will end on my bloody mary which was made perfectly. I'd highly recommend Petit Poulet. "

  • "Petit Poulet is a NYC restaurant centrally located and easy to find. They offered Sunday brunch but do not open until 11am. Hmmm??? Wait staff were very attentive yet not overly bothersome. Thus, we were able to have a conversation at our table without interruption yet our foodie and coffee needs were met. All of us were disappointed with the food. For NYC, I would have hoped it would have been tastier and more special which is the NYC draw."

  • "Came across this restaurant, by chance. Was looking for a nice place, with close proximity to MSG. Arrived earlier than my reservation, as my husband was parking. A waiter greeted me at the door and immediately seated me, eventhough he knew I was too early and alone. It was refreshing, as he immediately asked me if I would like to order a drink while waiting and had the busboy bring bread & water to the table. Eventually we ordered and had a nice variety of choices. Our food was very good. The restaurant had an intimate feeling and our waiter was exceptionally attentive. PS said waiter, poured me a second glass of wine and said Happy Mother's Day. This was two days ago...a nice touch!"

  • "Food was great and location perfect right around corner from the Empire State Building. We had steak frites, rotisserie chicken French onion soup, ceasar salad and the frisée salad with the wam bacon balsamic dressing (amazing!). Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was pleasant. "

  • "My friends and I ate dinner at this restaurant on Friday night. This restaurant is not a lot of guests, is a good gathering place, but it is more common food, nothing special or outstanding. We placed a order of Middle Raw Beef Steak (Filet Mignon Au Poivre), they gave us Well done one. The only taste good is the dessert - Cream Brulee Trio."

  • "Petit Poulet is an okay restaurant. If you are in the MSG area, it is an okay choice compared to others. Otherwise, don't bother."

  • "We were wondering where to eat at after 9:00 p.m. near the Empire State Building and found Petit Poulet. We were seated right away and offered complementary Champaign for our first visit. The food was very good as was the wine the waiter suggested from the very reasonable wine list. We would go again even though we are not usually in that neighborhood."

  • "I took my best friend to lunch in this mid town bistro . This is a small restaurant and the service is attentive. The noise level is acceptable and you could enjoy private conversation with your friends . The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and taste great. Price is very reasonable for Manhattan . I will definitely come back for dinners ."

  • "I was looking for a nice restaurant with good food, affordable wine offerings and great service. Aren't we all? Petit Poulet was great on all counts. The waiter was pleasant, very knowledgeable and polite. My date had the Sea Bass and I had the Scallops Francese and they were wonderful in both taste and presentation. Even the pasta that came with my dish was remarkably good and the sauce was outstanding. If you are looking for a romantic, candle lit, quiet place, this is not where you want to be. But, if you want a great meal at a nice cozy place, this is a gem. I will come here again and will highly recommend it to my friends."

  • "This restaurant is tucked away in a not that nice part of the city. It is quite attractive and the food is good and reasonably priced. In an area with a dearth of good dining options, this is a good one."

  • "I was staying on Hotel Row, 44th Street between 5th and 6th, and didn't know where to eat. I found this place on Open Table, and I'm glad I tried it. The location is unexpected — midblock on 33rd, near the Empire State Building, where you'd expect to find a TGI Fridays, not a classic French bistro. Step inside and you'll forget where you are. Widely spaced tables, tile floor, great food and impeccable service. I mean it: impeccable service. The foie gras, the duck, the escargot, the lamb are all sensational. Such food would be enough to recommend the restaurant, but Sam, the maestro of a perfect meal, truly makes the place special. I've eaten many times at Brasserie Les Halles and Brasserie 8 1/2. Petit Poulet is my new favorite."

  • "Great French onion soup, delicious burger and rotisserie chicken, terrific attentive service. I wish we had room for dessert because there were so many tempting choices on the menu. We'll definitely return so that we can try the profiteroles...or creme brulee...or tarte tatin. And the decor...tile floor, coppery pressed tin ceiling, mirrors and marble bar...all made it feel like we were in a Parisian bistro."

  • "We booked an 11:45 brunch here on a Sunday and as it turned out arrived 25 minutes early. We expected to be turned away but the manager gave us a very warm welcome and told us we could choose any place to sit. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with ample room around the tables and booths for people to move. Colors are warm and inviting with a striking tile floor. The overall impression is a quiet bistro. We ordered a variety of dishes off the menu: French omelette; mussels, vegetable tartine and quiche. All were beautifully presented , delicious and just the right portions! Our waiter was attentive but not invasive nor did he try and sell us dishes but was well informed of the menu items. It was a wonderful experience! Thank you!"

  • "I have been to NYC many times and am always in search of reasonable restaurants with excellent food and wine. Petit Poulet is a real find! We were there over Super Bowl weekend and a lot of my favorites had raised their prices just for the weekend. The location is great, the wine list was fabulous and the food was delicious and very well priced for an upper scale restaurant in NYC.The service was also impeccable. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. I suggest reservations because it is very small."

  • "Came here early on a Sunday morning, we were the first ones there beating the brunch crowd. Beautiful place, pleasant atmosphere and the staff was attentive and quick with our much needed coffee refills! I had the breakfast crepe which was delicious! My friends had the vanilla bean French toast and practically licked the plate! Definitely recommended!"
