Petit Louis BistroFavoriteFriendly and Attentive Service. Staff is well trained and knowledgeable. The chef is flexible. Ambiance takes you back to Paris. We go there often. Very welcoming.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA little bit of Paris in BaltimoreI love Petit Louis. I went to grade school in Paris and every year a group of us get together at my house in Lutherville. The weekend would not be complete without a trip to Petit Louis. The staff has always been more than accomodating...even when we were a party of 13 and the year half of the folks showed up an hour late...we were all able to sit together without missing a beat ! The wine list is superb and the food always reminds us of Paris.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as always! You will not find a better Bistro experience than at Petit Louis!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad we returned. It's been awhile since we have gone to Petit Louis because we had a couple meals there where it was very rich and a bit crowded. However this meal was superb and the service flawless. The Lardon Salad is one of the best meals in Baltimore (or anywhere). I am so glad we returned and we'll be back. It can be loud in Petit Louis but it is part of the "bistro" atmosphere so it didn't bother me.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA real home run !We have often gone to Petit Louis on the spur of the moment. We have really never been disappointed, but many times we have left uninspired. Our last visit was absolutely outstanding . Everything was fresh, tasty and well presented. The cheese offerings also should not be missed. The coq au vin was better here than the several times I had it while in France.
Would give Petit Louis an enthusiastic thumbs up!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMToo noisygreat service, good food, too noisy and table too close to have a conversation--heard everything from tables next to us5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful dining experienceI've been to Petit Louis Bistro 7 times and every time was exemplary. Delicious food, knowledgeable, friendly, well-trained staff, and a wonderful environment make Petition Louis Bistro an outstanding dining experience.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPetit Louis is OutstandingThree of us enjoyed a fixed price lunch of three courses at Petit Louis. Each course from the salad to the main course to the dessert was exceptional. One of the members of our party was an out of town guest, and she was so impressed by the food preparation and presentation. Service was friendly and attentive. There is a very extensive and excellent wine list. Petit Louis is highly recommended.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service, food and atmosphereThe service, food and atmosphere is always excellent. One of my favorite places in Baltimore.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for special occasionsOur family loved the restaurant. The occasion was a "significant birthday" for me, and I was absolutely thrilled to be there. Of course, it was pricey, but for us it is a special occasion restaurant, not a weekly diversion. I just have to remember not to eat so much at "my age." Thanks for a great evening.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect neighborhood bistroThis is the third time that I have been to Petit Louis. It was outstanding. I let the server know that I wanted to take my time (I was alone). His timing was perfect - I never felt ignored, nor did I feel bothered, while I had brunch and read my book.
This time I had OJ (freshly squeezed), coffee (perfectly brewed, a pleasure to sip), and Quiche Lorraine with salad (delicious and just the right size, not too big and not too small). Score another great meal!
This is a perfect neighborhood bistro. I could easily imagine myself in Paris!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent excellence! Our table was waiting for us at the appointed time. We were warmly greeted at the door. The wait staff was ver attentive, but not overbearing. The food, as usual, was superb! A lovely dining experience!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA good place to close a dealOur group of 4 was coming together after heavy travel from 3 continents. One person was an hour late. The staff was very relaxed and professional about trying to make us all comfortable and keeping us fed. The food was high quality and the ambiance was relaxed and quiet enough for us to conduct our negotiations.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperbPetit Louis was all that it promised to be and more. The ambiance is relaxing yet refined. The charcuterie board had paper thin ham and a delicious olive oil. The creamy goat cheese on one of the salads we had was amazing as well. We picked "punchy" Mersault from the wine list and Morgonade sure that we enjoyed it. Job well done. I'd love to come back for dinner.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great, bistro styleFood was great, bistro style done right. We got escargot and eggplant apps., and steak frittes and lamb leg steak. Both were cooked as ordered and brought to the table hot.Impeccable flavor, appropriate presentation.Prices are reasonable as well on both food and drink. Excellent service in a very busy, bustling environment by a team that has developed a seamless execution of service. Atmosphere is very lively, and loud, but just what we wanted. We will return, most definately with friends next time.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner. The appetizersExcellent dinner. The appetizers were wonderful and the salmon with spinach was out of this word; lick the plate good. We went on a weeknight evening, were promptly seated and had a
great waitress who provide lovely service. Not rushed, good atmosphere, some noise but not annoying. A really nice evening. Would recommend. Could be pricey but well worth it.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA+ Food in a Cozy SpaceWe received a gift certificate and were excited to try something new, after having just moved to Baltimore. The website claims the attire to be casual, so we showed up in jeans - we were the only ones. We felt under-dressed (most guys had on dress slacks and blazers while most ladies had on slacks or dresses), but that didn't stop us from loving the food and atmosphere! I had duck and my husband had salmon - both were cooked to perfection. Of course we capped off the evening with some delicious dessert - I had opera cake and my husband had chocolate custard. We were stuffed, but wanted more because it was so good! While the space is a little cramped, we loved the authentic French atmosphere and can't wait to go back to try something new.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Petit Louis Bistro!!!Love Petit Louis Bistro!!! The food is wonderful! The wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive. And generally, dinner there is always a wonderful experience!! The restaurant itself is adorable! Can't wait to go back again!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect French bistro--will go backPerfect French bistro in terms of food, decor, ambiance, and energy! Absolutely delicious roast chicken (carved table side), short ribs, onion soup, crime brûlée, profiteroles, & cocktails. Service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing--cheerful and friendly. Located in a rather residential area with a parking lot right in front. Husband, teenaged son, and I all want to go again next time we're in Baltimore!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood overall experienceCompared to our experience 2 months ago, this time was somewhat improved, as there was not that sense of "mass-production" like rushed service and crowd, although near the end of the time (we had an early 6PM start) the place definitely was over-saturated. We overall had a good experience and the food was outstanding, which of course matters the most. A few issues though... 1. We had one inexperienced waitress. Normally several servers come by & participate. I don't her heart was into it. 2. We asked somebody (not our server) to bring more bread. Completely forgot/ignored it, despite promising. 3. We asked cab, told it was 20' (my gusts were from NY, shocked). 4. Parking is difficult.
Again, overall good experience & will go again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPetit Louis is consistentlyPetit Louis is consistently good. The food and service is excellent. It was particularly good on a Monday evening; not as crowded and therefore, less noise.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!!!Oh my heavens... What a wonderful dining experience! We felt very welcomed from the moment we set foot in the door! Our waitress was knowledgeable, offered great service, and was Wonderful!!! Every bite of our dinner was delicious!!! And for desert... the Cheese, which was SOOOO GOOD!!!
The whole team at the Bistro worked to provide a wonderful experience! Thank You!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant runs likeThis restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine. The manager makes you feel like the restaurant exists only for you and your party. And the food is amazing. This is the best restaurant we can find in Baltimore and DC. We have been 5 times and are never disappointed. The servers are so knowledgable and professional.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Petit LouisService, food, atmosphere are all impeccable. Cannot say enough nice things about this lovely little place.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant never disappoints. This restaurant never disappoints. Classic Bistro dishes and some with a twist done to perfection. The waitstaff are always knowledgeable and attentive.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPetit Louis is BaltimoresPetit Louis is Baltimores go-to neighborhood French Bistro! While it doesn't get 5 stsrs all away across, the dining experience for 2-4 persons is equal to a similar venue in Paris. The food is unique and delicious. Quantities are filling Ambiance (even without outside seating) transforms your experience. The waitstaff is just edgy enough (but excellent) to remind you you are among the gaulois yet inside Roland Park! Don't miss dining here.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA beautiful restaurant thatA beautiful restaurant that made me feel as though I was back in Paris. The ambiance is quaint but also lively and loud. Great service and amazing food!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPetite Louis is a legitimatelyPetite Louis is a legitimately fine French Festaurant; they offer dishes you wouldn't prepare at home or find at many other resaurants in Baltimore! Delicious offerings and great service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, as usual. We hadExcellent, as usual. We had salmon, quiche, beef bourgignon, and an omelet. Love their soups. Pavot rose is my favorite cocktail.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLove going there but our partyLove going there but our party of four was a little disappointed in some of what we ordered. One fish entree was a bit fishy and my beef stew was a little on the bland side. I expected so much more of a burst of flavor from my beef bourguignon. Steaks should be served with a vegetable in addition to those delicious fries. They should be a bit more generous with hollandaise on their vegetables. I still look forward to going back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMC'est magnifique!Food is excellent. French onion soup, a house speciality was the best my husband ever had. Rib eye was cooked to perfection. Chicken was juicy and herbed to perfection. Dessert was the star attraction. Creme brûlée and lemon tart was the best dessert in recent memory. I hate places where the food is awesome yet skimp on dessert. Here you won't find that the dessert was sublime.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDecor and service are great.. TheDecor and service are great..
The food...uneven...sometimes good, sometimes not so much...3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPetit Louis is always consistentPetit Louis is always consistent in the quality of the food and the service provided. My last visit was specifically to have the cassoulet on the last night of the season they would serve it. It was even better than I expected! The cheese cart was a treat I seldom take advantage of. Excellent visit all around.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect. The well-timed andPerfect. The well-timed and friendly, service, the delicious food, the cozy soft lighting, the Beaujolais, Domaine Dupeuble Père et Fils 2010 wine, everything came together for a wonderful night. The salade verte and the beet salad were simple and fresh and bright and foreshadowed more amazingness to come. Confit de Canard, Lamb steak, Beef Bourguignon, and the Sea Bass were all incredible. Extensive wine list with many affordable, quality options. The staff were warm and welcoming and I'd love to go back to chat with the immensely cute sommelier.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding french onion soupOutstanding french onion soup and outstanding roasted duck breast.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service is excellent.Food and service is excellent. Price is just right! Great wine selection. Very noisey, not child friendly and very close quarters.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM100%100% perfect. Great food, wine, service. Cozy and fun. Seemed like every server and waiter was enthusiastic and looking to take care of the diners. No "it's not my table" syndrome. Great management. A little bit of Paris in Baltimore.
Not a negative at all but a bit crowded and noisy if you are looking for a romantic, private place. Such great food, service, and energetic ambiance makes it romantic and fun it its own way. Go there. Just save a table for me.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is none better!Always superb! Fantastic service, impeccable preparation of all dishes, we always feel special when we leave PL. They are simply THE BEST.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen there so many times IBeen there so many times I can not count them - one of my favorites with reliably gfreat food.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Petit LouisI have been to Petit Louis half a dozen times over the last several years and my expectations have ALWAYS been exceeded. The service is top notch the food is amazing! It is obvious from the customers to the Maître D' that EVERYONE is happy to be there. I'll be back again and again and again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this restaurant. TheI love this restaurant. The only thing that was a surprise was that the prix fixe menufor $22 no longer exists. This was an absolute strength of the restaurant and one of the main reasons why I would choose to come here for lunch. A prix fixe menu still exists it is now $29 and the menu is set and each day it is different. Other than that surprise the food and service are fantastic.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service--top notchImpeccable service--top notch care and attention. Food was very tasty3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood awesome; service, well...Outstanding food, expertly prepared and beautifully presented - as you would expect from any Foreman-Wolf restaurant. Service was decent, but not great. A few bumps along the way, from not refilling coffee (it was brunch), to changing server midway through the meal without any explanation. And yes, our original server was still there; just working other tables.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways perfect from beginningAlways perfect from beginning to end. The atmosphere here is extra special, not to mention the wine list and classic provincial French food executed perfectly.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA "go to" place like no other.....As always, our dinner on 3/16 was fantastic. The food was great. The service was perfect. It is nice to see a place that has earned a great reputation/ following and has not become complacent like so many others. When you eat here, you actually feel they are working to make your evening/meal enjoyable. So many other places make you feel like they are doing you a favor by serving you...not here. They earned their reputation, and keep on earning it with every meal.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely lunch spotBeautiful space, very friendly atmosphere despite being in one of the fanciest neighborhoods in the city. Waited a little too long to be seated as the hostess was preparing drinks (unusual). The servers were attentive but we were confused as to which one was our server when several asked us for our orders. But aside from that mild hiccup, all were very helpful and recommended a wonderful bottle of wine to pair with our delicious lunches. A wonderful place to have lunch and even go for a stroll in a lovely area of the city. Have been twice and will definitely return next time I'm on the east coast!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic French bistroThis is a charming neighborhood bistro decorated in real French style, so the bustle and noise is authentic. The food is stellar, as usual. Feels like Paris. NOT a quiet romantic dinner. Includes fireplace. Love it!2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant Week MustVisited during restaurant week and enjoyed everything from the msuhroom bisque to the dunk (fantastically prepared) to the dessert! They also offered a wine pairing to along with each course! Great! Forgot to write the one done....will call to find out!1/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure! Well trainedAlways a pleasure! Well trained and attentive service paired with delicious food make the recipe for a successful restaurant. I also appreciate staff that recognizes repeat customers, which is rare these days.11/21/2012 12:00:00 AM
