  • "My husband and I recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary and decided to go to Petite Louis. This was my third time and my husbands first- I included that it was our wedding anniversary in the information section when doing the reservation and the waiter acknowledged the milestone when he introduced himself. He made the entire evening very special for us. They even gave us complimentary champagne with our dessert. Overall it was a spectacular evening and we will definitely be back. Wonderful service, delicious wine and food, top notch!!"

  • "My boyfriend and I visited Petit Louis for New Year's Eve dinner. They had a spectacular 4-course menu with wine pairings. At 6:00p.m., which is midnight in Paris, they did a countdown and champagne toast, which just heightened the excitement and joy in the restaurant. Each course was full of flavor and presented beautifully and the wine pairings completed the meal. For a main entree I had the roasted duck, which just melted in my mouth, and my boyfriend had the rockfish, which was buttery and cooked to perfection. I think our favorite dish was the fois gras, though - so rich, but light at the same time. It was truly a lovely meal - Petit Louis has never disappointed us!"

  • "Excellent food. Everything was delicious. The chicken for two was one of the best meals we have ever had in a restaurant. The ambience is very quaint. There is something for everyone on the menu and we tried many different things, all excellent. Except for our waitress being quite unpleasant, it was a great meal. We could see that the other service people were all pleasant and very skilled, so we think our server was having an off day."

  • "We were traveling through Baltimore and were looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We had just spent 30 days in France. Petit Louis Bistro was perfect. The food was excellent. We had the duck breast and duck confit and also the beet salad. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. We would definitely go back. If you like French food, we would recommend Petit Louis Bistro."

We had been to this restaurant several times in the past and had been satisfied with the food and the ambiance. But the quality is not the same. Hope they read the comments and make improvements."

They had a great wine selection, very authentic French cuisine, and above all their service was top-notch. I am a foodie from NYC and frequently dine at upscale restaurants, but I have to say that Petit Louis had better service than many of the restaurants that I've been to. I took my mom to treat her and was very pleased with the ambiance, food, and the service. The price was very reasonable too. I will definitely return when I visit Baltimore again."

  • "I took my granddaughter for her middle school graduation. I had heard rumors that the quality had dropped a bit since the chef was moved to the new location. Although it was still a good meal, this is my second visit in a month and again the new chef has offered carrot soup instead of the expected and loved asparagus that was always on the menu in the spring. I would also say that the green salad, though excellent was a bit overdressed. I know this sounds picky, but I was spoiled by perfection. The new shrimp dish was lovely."

  • "It's just like being in Paris - including the arrogant Maitre'd. The wine selection is very good, and affordable. The food is excellent - just like dining in Paris. The only difference is that we can order - and the waiter understands English. The staff is also very knowledgeable about their wine list. The food is excellent and so are the desserts. Another favorite in Baltimore that I love going back to."

  • "We had eaten there for dinner and it was wonderful. I brought two guests for lunch last Sunday. The food was ordinary and so was the service. My wife ordered coffee and it came cold. She sent in back twice- both times cold. One of my guests ordered a capacino (sp?) and she received latte. I had informed my guests prior to their arrival that this was one of the best French restaurants in the area and I was stunned by the average food and service. Our feeling was that dinner is great-lunch not so good. I am in the newspaper business in Columbia and people are always asking me for places to go and places to eat. I will have to think twice now. Disappointed."

  • "Petit Louis is certainly a wonderful place to celebrate special events like birthdays. The food is delightful, the service efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere is upbeat. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, as did we. Starting with yummy bread & butter, then a velvety smooth carrot soup topped with creme fraiche, a nicely prepared salmon, and ending with coconut sorbet - all the food was very tasty. It's a bit on the pricey side but, all in all, a great place for a special meal."

I don't know what I woudl do if they ever took the duck Magret off the menu as this is my go-to dish every time. I have over the course of the years tried many things on the menu and every meal has been wonderful, but no one cooks duck liek the chef at Petit Louis - it is perfect every time!! Thansk for making the meal so special!"

  • "Start with the good - service was excellent as usual. Appetizers were very good. Unfortunately, the wait between appetizers and main course was borderline ridiculous. Fortunately, good conversation carried us through what must have been a 20 minute wait. Then it got worse. Two of the five main courses were poorly prepared - one overdone but tolerable and one embarrassingly underdone. Unfortunately, the birthday celebrant could only watch the other members of our group eat as their main course was re-prepared. All-in-all, a very forgettable experience. As we rely on Petit Louis for celebratory dining, we hope this was an aberration and not the norm."
