Diner Reviews
  • "Located next to an interstate and across from fast food joints, this unassuming grey building houses some of the best food I've had anywhere. The wine list is impressive if expensive but their are plenty of excellent affordable options as well. The food is beautifully prepared and presented...and there is not a surfeit of it. They don't try to make you gorge here, just give you reasonable portions of exquisitely prepared food. All the desserts are made in-house and the two we tried were each fabulous. The prices are commensurate with the food and service which is to say, high, but not unreasonably so."

  • "I wanted my steak well done and no pink and i had to send it back two times to get it cooked right. You would think for the price of our meal that it would be cooked right the first tine. My wife's steak was cooked right the first rime."

  • "We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at this restaurant. There were three in our party. Two of us ordered the Diver Scallops and the other ordered the Lamb Porterhouse. We also ordered salads before dinner. We shared two side dishes - asparagus and mushrooms. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. We have dined here previously, but it had been over two years ago. I do believe they are even better regarding the food. Thanks for a great time with family."

  • "Peterson's is our place to go when we want to escape, relax, and enjoy a special meal. We ALWAYS experience excellent service in an elegant setting with incredibly delicious cuisine."

  • "I've been here many times. The prices have gone up and the quality of food didn't. It's not bad, but the price now far outweighs the food."

  • "First time at Peterson's for our Anniversary. Very good experience. Server was excellent as was the meal. Wine recommendation was perfect and my wife thought the ribeye was one of the best she ever tasted. Bread pudding was also one of the best!"

  • "Recent dinner there was an absolutely outstanding experience in food and knowledge of the server. I tremendously enjoyed the scallops over wild mushroom risotto and the shared appetizer of 4 different sausages, including deer and and boar were incredible, as were the crab cakes. Beyond being incredibly good, the presentation was beautiful. My only wish was that I like my food served a little hotter. I also found the dessert they offered (free) for their anniversary somewhat bland and tasteless. Maybe it was just because we were so full from all the other great food. I would go back anytime and recommend it it to anyone looking for a great dinning experience that goes far above just great slabs of meat."

  • "My husband has always wanted to go there and we thought Northside nights would be a great time to try. Great lobster bisque and cheesecake. Only thing disappointing was the chocolate cake was no longer on the menu and I had several people tell me it was the best they ever had."

  • "Previously we had a great experience at Peterson's. Unfortunately, this time the filet was dry, fish was under cooked and service was provided when we could flag someone down. This was our second time at Peterson's not sure there will be a third visit."

  • "This was one of my go-to never fail restaurants. Well, this was my 19th Wedding Anniversary and there's a first time for everything. My wife's Filet was tasteless and not the buttery tenderness we are accustomed to at Flemings. I ordered a fish dish that was like wise uninspiring. I will probably try again, but at these prices it will be a while. Service was excellent as always."

  • "Peterson's is a great spot for a delicious steak on the north side. There wine list is very wel stocked and the setting is perfect for a relaxing night out!"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "I went to Peterson's for the first time for Northside Nights. I had the best steak of my life! I also like sitting behind a semi private screen so it made the evening more romantic and special. The chocolate bread pudding was also a huge hit!"

  • "The bone in strip and tuna were not the best we have had. A bit more gristle and fat than expected."

  • "Felt very welcomed and pampered for our anniversary dinner."

  • "Peterson's is my favorite restaurant, but on this visit I decided to order the fish dish instead of my usual filet. The fish was over-cooked and quite dry. The service was also very slow that evening. Still love the place, but they were off this time."

  • "Watier was awesome, the only thing missing was my husband commented no one came and wished him Happy Birthday in whcih we experience no matter where we dine."

  • "Outstanding wine list. Excellent service. Unhurried. Very enjoyable."

  • "We tried this restaurant off the recommendation of a coworker. It was awful. From start to finish, the service was so slow it took 3 HOURS to make it through a 3 course meal. Then, we had to ask for our checks, and they tried to double bill us for our drinks. The food was mediocre at best. I've had a better filet at Outback Steakhouse. I will never eat here again, and suggest that you don't either. If you're looking for a better steak place on the northside, go to Sullivan's or Harry & Izzy's. I guarantee you'll be happier there."

  • "While the food was wonderful, the tables were crowded togerther, which made for a noisy dining experience. At these prices, I expect to be able to be able to speak to my husband without shouting."

  • "Arrived for our reservation on a tuesday night and was shown to our table right away. We were going to be given a table in the middle of the room but asked for a booth with a bit more privacy. Waitstaff was a bit slow to greet us. Once our server arrived she was very attentive. We both ordered off the north side nights menu. Soup/salad were good. Both had the filet medallions which was a very heathly portion. We did have to order a side to split as the filet entree option on this special menu did not include a side. I was disappointed with that, as the whole point of these special menus like north side nights or devour downtown is to get a full meal for a certain price. Cheesecake for dessert was excellent. The glass of wine I had was too."

  • "Excellent!!!!! The scallops, crab Mac and cheese and the wedge salad were absolute the best I have ever had. My husbands filet was so tender, you could cut it with a fork. This will be our new go to restaurant."

  • "Food and service very good. Only negative, I did not enjoy the ceaser salad. Not what I expected. Would get wedge salad next time."

  • "The service was wonderful but the food wasn't as good as the last time. The entree didn't even include a side this time."

  • "This is the best restaurant in the Fishers area by far. The wine list is fantastic and the food and service are always exceptional. We dined this time for their Northside Nights menu which was wonderful and very affordable as it leaves room to buy more wine!"

  • "The food was great....but at the price it should be."

  • "Good dinner. Very good food and service. Did take an hour from order to receive food but that allowed for good conversation. Seemed a bit too long, however. Steak was good but not to die for.....don't get me wrong, I liked it but a lot of places in the city serve a similar steak. Will certainly endorse Petersons. Great location for me, ambience very nice. Service top notch. Excellent wine list."

  • "Ambience comfortable and not too noisy, good for conversation. Table beautifully set. Food superb, the best seared tuna I have had, and steak was fantastic. Old fashioned was excellent. Wait staff was knowledgable, helpful and appropriate. Our four top had no misses on our selections. While expensive, I would choose this restaurant over any steakhouse in Indianapolis. This is a rare find for chain or independent restaurant in Indianapolis."

  • "We had a delightful meal and a very pleasant, personable server. However, the entire evening's enjoyment was severely overshadowed by the following: Although 1) my sister from Florida told me she was having a $150 gift card for Peterson's sent to me and 2) the gift card envelope which was completed by Peterson's and sent directly to my home from Peterson's indicated that the gift card value was $150, when settling our $220 bill for the evening, the manager of Peterson's insisted that the gift card value was only $100 and that is all she would honor--not 1 cent more. I politely told the manager I was shocked and disappointed--especially for a restaurant the caliber of Peterson's. She didn't care and didn't budge!! We won't be back!!!"

  • "In the past, the service has been impeccable. We received a call that our reservation was all set for 5:30 and that we would be seated at table #84, as requested. We like that table because of the privacy. When we arrived there was a different hostess. The reception was not overly friendly. She walked us to a table which was not the table we were told we would be seated. When I asked her if we could be seated at table #84 she seemed annoyed. We sat at least 10-minutes before even receiving water. The waiter seemed rushed. He poured some water and dashed off. I did not get a chance to ask for lemon or order drinks. The restaurant was not crowded at all. The quality of the food was great, as always. The service was not good."

  • "Peterson's is always excellent. The food, service and wine list is wonderful. It is pricy, and is a place we go for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's, and other significant celebrations). Again, the food, service and wine are excellent, but be prepared to spend about $200 for a dinner for two. That does include a half bottle of wine, coffee and dessert; and tip. Also, at a place like this your server and his/her support people deserve and earn a full 20%+ tip."

  • "We have been to Peterson's a number of times but I doubt we will return. It took an hour for the waiter to take our food order. The spinach salad we ordered was bland. The entrees for four people were delivered in 2 shifts and then the sides were delivered in a third shift. The entrees (steak) and sides (creamed spinach and sweet potato puree) were also bland. I've had much better food at the chain steakhouses in town. Then we had to wait another 45 minutes for our check. The service was horrible - extremely inattentive. And the food did not make up for it."

  • "Late dinner, coming from the airport. Was cared for as if I were the owner (or a close relative). Great food, great service, peaceful atmosphere. We had one fish entree and one steak, both done to perfection and both presented beautifully. I could go on, but sometimes less is more in descriptions -- this was the way it should always be ...."

  • "We celebrated Valentines Day. The staff was very accommodating and the food was great as usual."

  • "I would say that I was very impressed by the food and atmosphere. This was my wife and I's first date night in a long time. She had a great time and so did I. The service was great and the food was even better. It is pricy and I would have loved to had more of a choice between water and wine as drink choices. That might just be a product of the fact that Peterson's was by far the nicest place we had ever had the pleasure of dining. I could not recommend as a regular food spot until I hit the lottery, but our next special occasion it will definitely be on our list."
