Overall a good meal, only one issue and it was solved by Peter Martin himself. I would definitley go back. The food is always fresh and much attention to detail.

  • Excellent Food! Terrible Service!

My Girlfriend went there for dinner for the first time. The quality of the food was very good. We both had the Ceasar salad to start which was by far the best I have ever had. She had the beef short rib marinated in root beer which she thouroughly enjoyed. I had the stuffed Chicken which was very tender. Desserts were also very good! However, the service was not so good. Upon arrival we were greeted at the front door and shown to our seat. It took 20mins before our waitress acknowledged us. Then it took another 15mins before we were able to even order a drink. Took along time to get our meals and we were never asked how the food was. A chef ended up coming to our table to clear away our main course and offer us dessert and tea and coffee

It is the small amenities that make a person feel welcome, and part of an event. We were welcomed and our coats were quickly hung up out of the way. I must say that a curved booth for two is a very nice touch. Lots of space, yet intimate in the setting. I did order flowers for my Lady and they were there in all their glory on the table when we arrived. All in all the experience was delightful. Now for the food. I must say that I do not normally eat french fries, but the fries that came with my steak were crispy to perfection. The steak was cooked to a tender and juicy state. Not so sure about the salad. I am not a big salad fan, but I did enjoy the half I ate. My Lady had the short rib dinner and together we decided all was good.

  • Try them out!

Was very good, but quite pricey for what it is. My steak was average. She had the veal which was delicious. Some of the apps were boring. The calamari was of roadhouse quality. This place used to be fine dinning but scaled down a bit. Some very good things remain, but I think they are still trying to figure things out. Definitely worth a try though, Peter Martin is very creative with his Menu.

my bouillabaisse was too salty (I couldn't finish it), as was my partner's appetizer (I can't recall what it was exactly, but it was on regular menu). We thoroughly enjoyed our desserts (Valentine's chocolate mousse cake). We enjoyed our evening. thanks!

Good combination of food and wine. Salmon was spiced nicely and cooked perfectly. Best part of the night was the service. Very friendly and efficient.

Enjoyable evening with friends. The ceasar salad was excellent, very garlicky but enjoyable. The Salmon and Skate were cooked perfectly, tender but with lots of flavour and well paired with their accompaniments. The spicy crusted Salmon was just as described, the Smoked Salmon under the bed of braised cabbage and Fennell was surprisingly nice together. The Gnocchi was a bit disappointing according to our guests, a foodie, who was polite and said it was ok. We all were quite full by the end and thus had just a taste of the Blue Cheese cake, surprisingly good with just a slight hint of blue cheese that is suttle and only after to you get a slight taste of the blue cheese which is well suited with the roasted pear layer. Overall food was go

Peter Martin hit another homerun with a succulent Kobe beef flank steak. Cooked to perfection, served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes accompanied with seasoned vegetables and mushrooms had me looking for more. Finished the meal off with a delicious filo pastry lemon marangue pie that was simply to die for! For someone loves the filling and is lacklustre about pie crust, this was amazing! Kudos to the pastry chef

We brought our 8 year-old and his friend for a New Years Eve dinner. Although Peter Martin's does not have a children's menu, they did an excellent job at accomodating the two boys, the server and maitre d both ensured the boys had everything they needed. The food was subperb, the service excellent and the experience perfect. We highly recommend Peter Martin's to anyone looking for somewhere special.

We had high hopes for a fabulous meal at 41 King, and unfortunately went away feeling dissapointed. While I understand that portion size takes a backseat to quality of ingredients and presentation, the '41 Greens" salad ($9) that we were served was literally a half a hand full of greens. I counted 5 sunflower seeds and one - Yes, one blueberry on my plate. For my entree, the "20 Kinger" hamburger ($15) arrived to the table looking delishious. Unfortunately, it crumbled apart as I ate it, which is an indicator of the amount of bread used to 'fill out' the burger. The sour dough bun was also fairly dry. The fries that came with the burger were excellent. Also note that the prices online are lower than the menu in house.

Service was impeccable. Staff were slightly older and experienced. Food was good, as well as the atmosphere. A nice little "hole in the wall" that we thoroughly enjoyed. Specific requests for small changes to our orders were overlooked but the food was great anyway.

What a fabulous interior! This could be a KW hot spot if the menu was more diverse. I am a self proclaimed picky eater. I don't eat pork, veal, fish with skin or fatty beef so I was stuck ordering something I did not enjoy and will not put down as I understand it is personal preference. If there was more selection on the menu - such as a chicken breast NOT stuffed with pork, or my personal preference of a tenderloin, I would go back. Service was great and the ambiance was OUTSTANDING! Perhaps I would go back for dessert only, but I am hoping they change their menu so we can enjoy an evening of dinner.

  • Hat Trick: Service-Quality-Ambiance

This was the first time we ate here; we booked in advance dinner for two. We were recieved by courteous staff into a very inviting dining hall. The food quality and preperation was top notch. Judging from the old menus on the OpenTable web site, the menu appears to change seasonally. We shared the Buffallo Quail to start: a yummy twist on a "wings" classic. The Caesar was excellent; clearly the dressing was prepared made to order. We both had the steak entree; cooked to our desired perfection. My only gripe regarding the menu is that it lacked vareity for special dietary needs like vegetarian and non-pork options; perhaps it wasn't the right time of year? The prices, though not cheap, were reasonable considering the portions and quality.

I ate here for lunch with a colleague, and if not for Open Table, I would have completely missed this local gem. The atmosphere flirts with open concept but has a unique old-world charm that appeals to the senses when you first walk in. The lunch menu is simple but we had no issues finding something to please the pallet.

Food was amazing as usual but service was kind of shakey and there wasn't a lot of people eating, had to ask about specials, other than that great overall Oh and don't think twice about desert, it is a MUST if you dine here. Outstanding I must say

It was a quiet night. So we almost had the waiter to ourselves. The food was excellent. I had lake perch with seasonal veggies, the perch was light, pan fried, delicious. My wife enjoyed the "Kiev" chicken. The red wine was served at the right temperature, unlike many restaurant who store their wine in warm areas. It was a nice summer evening with just the right amount of attention from the staff.

A little loud for us but the food was good. They did not have enough serving staff working. There wasn't the follow up done as it should have been. I would go for the food but don't look for to much attention or ambiance. I wouldn't call this a place of fine dining in my experience. I would refer to it more upscale casual.
