Diner Reviews
  • "We joined friends for happy hour where the discounts were stellar and the drinks ohso well crafted. And the food was slap yourself silly delicious . Our server Sibrina was 5 star. It was so good we went back for breakfast."

  • "Peso's has great, fresh, Mexican food with outstanding margarita's. The crowd is always energetic. "

  • "Fun atmosphere and good food on a Sunday afternoon and evening, but I got the impression the waitress didn't want to be there that day."

  • "Certainly one of the finest Mexican meals that we have had in many years. Certainly one of the noisiest meals (of any type) that we have had in many years. Would I recommend this restaurant - yes, if you simply want fine Mexican food; no - if you want to communicate at all with anyone, even the person sitting beside you."

  • "Although Peso's frequently participate in the Dine Around Seattle and Restaurant Week promos they seem to be reluctant to let people know. Waitress didn't check back with us to realize the food was cold. We informed her of it when she arrived and we were done. Her response was"really?, huhn....."."

  • "The food was delicious but the service was lackluster. The waitress questioned everything we ordered and didn't split the check as request multiple times."

  • "I love Pesos. Try the tacos, the guac and the margaritas!! The hostess was snotty but our server Rayne was FANTASTIC!!!"

  • "We tried Peso's during Dine Around Seattle '13. Have always wanted to try it as a pre/post theater spot near Seattle Rep - but it's often hard to get in without reservations. We went early - 5:30. Very Busy in the Bar and the noise carries over into the dinning room. Food was pretty good. Scallops were over fresh (not canned cream corn) with crunchy pimentos/red peppers and about 7 in number. The seafood chowder was full of goodies - though a bit thin. The seafood stew could have been improved by being served over a bed of rice, but was tasty with a fair amount of heat in the spices - which I like. Deserts were nothing special - though the apples in crisp were in fact still crisp and oatmeal crust crunchy. Good but not outstanding."

  • "Peso's is a cut above standard Mexican fare and the menu is extensive. Great seafood options. Three different taco presentations. Highly recommend."

  • "We were out for dinner to celebrate my 50th with my twin daughter that are 11. We had such a fun time people watching and the food and service was wonderful. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for great Mexican food and a fun ambience."

  • "Diners can plan on having a stroke from all the salt in their food. There was entirely too much in everything we had."

  • "This is not the first time I've been to Pesos....always fantastic food and great service."

  • "Went for dinner with friends - the food was certainly good, but half of the room is a very loud bar (very loud music, sports on the screens) so if you want to be able to have a good chat with your dining companions this might not be the place. Decor is gorgeous. Service was not great, slow and some of our requests were forgotten. Despite the food and the decor I won't be going back, but if you are into the bar scene and don't mind really loud music during dinner give it a try."

  • "We went to Peso's for Seattle Restaurant Week. So delicious!! Service was a little slow but they were busy. Food was perfect. Would definitely go back for happy hour too."

  • "Fun atmosphere, was a bit more sporty and less dance-y since it was after a seahawks game. Waitress was very friendly. Enjoyed the food. Drinks were mediocre (ordered a vodka martini - weak and watery, and a red sangria - too sweet and also weak/watery)"

  • "This place is always fresh and doesn't shy from spicy. I've since moved away from Seattle and have to go back each time I'm in town. The ambience is sort of Dia de Los Muertos in an upscale kind of way, and I'm always happy I came. The chips and salsa they bring out to start is really great. Good drinks, too."

  • "Over the top loud as there's no separation between the dining area and bar."

  • "When we arrived, early, for our reservation, we were informed that they didn't take reservations on "event" nights (The Eagles were performing at near by Key Arena) and were told that there would be nearly an hour wait. Even though we had a reservation that we made with Open Table. We had to inquire about the situation three times before they made it right. Service was friendly and the food was great."

  • "We had reservations for 6 pm on the night of The Eagles concert. Upon arriving we discovered that they would not be able to seat us at 6. There had been a mixup (apparently they don't accept reservations the night of concerts). They promised to seat us as quickly as possible and that we would have priority. We eventually scored some seats in the bar and ate our meal there. The food was great, but the evening could have been a disaster."
    Dined on 9/4/2013
  • "We made reservations on OpenTable but when we arrived were told the reservations were invalid: Peso's does not accept reservations on 'concert nights.' Peso's was very decent about it and we were eventually seated but there was a disconnect between OpenTable and Peso's. Better communication between OpenTable and dining establishments, please."

  • "We have been to Pesos a lot for brunch but never for dinner. We had a fabulous time. We noted on our reservation that it was my wife's birthday but no one offered a Happy Birthday from the staff or a drink or dessert like other restaurants tend to. We would still return for brunch anytime!"

  • "Food is much better than you might expect from what is basically a "pick-up joint" (is that term still even used anymore?). Décor and service are quite good and as mentioned, the menu is interesting and flavorful."

  • "I live a few blocks from Peso's. I have found each time I've gone that the food is really terrific, and the house margaritas are amazing, fresh and strong. I wish management would put some thought into the musical selections and volume. Weekend evenings are particularly geared toward the bar crowd. Tonight I went with a friend. When we walked in, around 8:20 the music was at a reasonable volume, so we went in. At 9 it is clear that the volume (of bad classic rock/disco/nondescript bar music) gets cranked up in order to...what? Get hormones going? Get people to believe they're having fun? I don't know. I will only go again for happy hour (fabulous) or early dinners on week nights."

  • "I always go to Peso's before I go to the Rep Theater. They usually have space and the food and atmosphere are good. Kind out loud for an intimate conversion. Great Margaritas."

  • "Good food, decent service, but too noisy for comfortable conversation on Saturday afternoon before the ballet."

  • "Amazing ambience, great food, copious quantity!! Loud tunes but everywhere in Seattle is the same!"
    Dined on 4/9/2013
  • "We liked peso's- but it was very noisy, and the service a bit slow, but friendly."

  • "This was the second time I had been to Peso's. Both times the food was excellent. The first time the service was atrocious. I'm glad I gave it another shot. Everything was awesome this time."

  • "Not our first time there, and not up to the standards I experienced previously. The food was fine, not fabulous, and the music volume almost drove us out."

  • "Perfect spot for New Year's Eve dinner. Erin, our server, couldn't have been better. Some food items were unbelievably good, but it can be a little hit and miss. As in, hit the pork tacos, miss the honey fried prawns...but we'll definitely return."

  • "One of my absolute favorite restaurants--always has a fun, vibrant atmosphere, food is fantastic--and a widely-known local gem."
    Dined on 12/12/2012
  • "Food has been a little hit or miss the last few times I have been there! I chock it up to a new chef. Mostly the problem has been a la I of seasoning specifically salt! Guacamole last 2 times has been flavorless and at how much you charge for it, it should be perfectly seasoned!"

  • "The food was out of this world. My husband can be picky about his Mexican food, but Peso's went to the top of the list. Hands Down! The only thing I have to say is unfortunetly we got a dippy wait "girl" Could not answer question about the menu intellegently. Did not listen to what we were saying. Mess up the order and was not very attentive. (Maybe new!) But who really cared, the food made up for it all. We will be back!"
    Dined on 12/9/2012
  • "The food was excellent. My order arrived not as I had ordered and they immediately remedied it. Very courteous staff. I would visit again. Con: Seating is close, atmosphere dark and on the noisy side."

  • "This place was recommended by a coworker who used to frequent it. The place was super cool! Our waitress was spot on the whole time. If she recommended something, I ate it and was happy I did. The Carne Asada is pretty spectacular!"

  • "Ever outstanding at a table of six everyone had to offer a taste to share the outstanding quality of every dish and appetizer. especially noteworthy was the carne Asada and the seafood enchiladas."

  • "This was a chance find: a guy overheard us saying we couldn't get a table at Peso's sister restaurant Toulouse and he recommended Peso's. Having recently moved here from Colorado, we have high expectations for what makes great Mexican fare and we weren't really craving Mexican, but wow! We were bowled over by this place. Elegant without being stuffy, Peso's has the best guacamole I've ever tasted (but don't tell my best friend it beats her guac!). Great variety of inventive food...this is not your standard Mexican fare. Great option for dinner before events at Seattle Center or Key Arena because it's within walking distance. The small plates are filling, and the prix fixe menu was a great value. The service was stellar. We'll be back!"

  • "Really good food at a reasonable price. Peso's is definitely a cut above the typical Mexican restaurant. The food is excellent and prepared with gourmet flair. My daughter had the Carne Asada tacos and I had the Carnitas. Both were excellent. The portions were generous and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere is very comfortable. I will return."

  • "We ate dinner at Peso's during Seattle Restaurant Week. Peso's offered more than the usual number of choices for each of the three dinner courses -- and their portions were larger than other restaurants', too. (Come hungry!) We particularly enjoyed the shrimp-crab enchiladas and the carne asada. The staff and the kitchen were prompt -- we no sooner sat down than we had chips and (tasty) salsa, water, and an offer of drinks. They were sometimes too fast -- our entrees arrived before we'd eaten the last bites of our appetizers. On the other hand, the bar is on a different schedule: slow. Drinks took longer to arrive than food; a margarita ordered toward the end of dinner entrees arrived after we'd finished dessert and were ready to leave."
