A word from Pesce Restaurant
Pesce has been a favorite among Washington diners for fresh seafood and creative bistro entrees for over twenty years. By discovering the freshest seasonal ingredients in local markets and the regional countryside, and using innovative and classic cooking techniques, we place sincere thoughts into our recipes hoping to evoke a sense of pure bliss. By writing our menu on chalk boards, we are able to choose the highest quality ingredients from our local fish mongers and produce purveyors each day.

Have a glass of wine and a bite to eat at the bar and it may remind you of a Parisian bistro. You will hear the subtle stir of the city, taste the fresh ingredients, and feel the enthusiasm of our Pesce staff. A relaxed bistro atmosphere for all occasions, Pesce can host anything from a business lunch to an intimate dinner with friends and/or semi private events. The best seafood destination in Dupont!

The fish, extremely fresh and expertly prepared. The service: my server did not appear until I was half way through my appetizer to see if I epwas enjoying it. I didn't care for it, bit I wanted to try something new (the grilled sardines). That's on me. But after being served my entrée my server never came by until I was almost finished to see if I was enjoying it or needed anything further. UNACCEPTABLE. I was also NOT offered bread. It was only after the bus person who did water set ups saw that I had no bread offered to get it for me, which she did. Kudos to her, who was of more service than my wait person. I am not going back.

A very nice little white tablecloth restaurant featuring sea food. Imaginative and staple see food items, blackboard menu rich in choices. Expertly prepared food. Had grilled brussell sprouts as a side - unusual and excellent. Casual, non-stuffy service from rather informally clad waitstaff

Pesce is one of our favorite restaurants whenever we visit D.C. The food is consistently great, the service is good and the wine is excellent. This trip I had the rockfish with brussels sprouts and it was perhaps the best seafood dish I have ever had. I would (and have) highly recommend Pesce is you're looking for a nice, neighborhood spot that serves fantastic food.

Pesce was the perfect choice for dinner with my husband and a good friend last Friday night. We needed a place we could actually hear each other, which had a good atmosphere and great food. Pesce gave us a wonderful evening on all three fronts. I felt they really cared and were doing everything they could to give us a great experience. They succeeded!

Pesce has a wonderful blend of the new age casual character found in places foodies congregate the most and a culinary style offering creativity and variety. Found the menu to be charming in its presentation and offerings. Wine list was not impressive but more than adequate. The food was very good. If you don't mind feeling part of the family, this is certainly a place to be. Menu vs. value is definitely in your favor here.

We had made a reservation for 7:30. We arrived at 7:30. We were unapologetically told that our table was not yet ready, and asked to sit at the bar. 15 minutes later, we were finally seated. And it was another seven or eight minutes before we were approached by a server. The lobster risotto was passable, the salmon was delicious, the beet appetizer was phenomenal, as was the crème brûlée. Nice wine list.

Pesce is a hidden gem in Dupont Circle. It is one of my all time favorite restaurants due to the exceptional service, fantastic food and impressive wine list. While their menu change it features a wide variety of fish. My favorite is the lobster risotto, but the branzino and ahi tuna are also good. If you haven't tried Pesce be sure to go, it is well worth the price!

This was our first time trying Pesce - we were a party of four celebrating a birthday. I loved that the restaurant was small and intimate without feeling cramped and it was very quiet; it's wonderful to be able to talk without having to raise your voice. The wait staff were very professional and made sure our needs were taken care of without being intrusive. And the food - it was really, really yummy. We read previous reviews and saw recommendations so we started with the popcorn shrimp (the reviews were accurate!), my lobster risotto was to die for, scallops were terrific, as were the pasta with clams and the branzino. Desserts were also fabulous - the warm chocolate tart was amazing. I will be returning........

Great food. My calimari appetizer and my companion's sea scallop entree were to die for. Nice drink too. Casual ambiance, like what one might stumble upon along a sidewalk in Lisbon or Barcelona. Not stuffy, unlike a lot of pretentious eateries around DuPoint Circle.

It simply wouldn't be a trip to DC without Pesce! Since their earliest years sharing their space with a working fish market, freshness has been their talisman. Very simply, if it ain't freshly caught, they won't serve it! Per usual, our party had a wonderful time with mouth-wateringly delicious seafood. The sardines were simply the sweetest I've ever had. The bronzino , on par with the sardines. Remainder of party equally satisfied (including raves for the soft-shelled crabs). Modest wine list admirably paired to the cuisine. Yummy desserts. Professional staff. If it is not yet so, it ought to be apart of your DC routine, too.

The scallops are excellent as is the fish. The portions of some items like the tuna are rather small for the price. Salads were uninspiring. While I would go back for the fish, I found the service to be pathetic. Took a long time for a waiter to come to the table initially. He took the order. The entrees took about 20 minutes to appear AFTER the appetizer dishes were cleared. The sides that were brought were wrong. The waiter said he would be right back with the correct side. That took another 20 minutes at which point we were close to finished with dinner. It took another 20 minutes before he circled back to ask if we wanted anything else. Maybe we had Pesce's worst waiter and the service is usually better. Not sure if I will go back.

Pesce is a consistently superior restaurant. I've never been disappointed with the food--if you appreciate good fish, of course. The plats are imaginatively presented with distinct tastes. OK the portions are not enormous (the deserts are, however). The tables are crammed in together, bistro style so it can be noisy. My desert wasn't as imaginative and I think a cup of expresso might have been better.

Change in chef has not been for the better and prices are up. Case in point: genuine clams with linguine is now fettuccine with ckams, unheard of in Italy, and price went from $20 to $22. Sauce is flavorful, but nothing you'd find in Italy.
