A word from Pescatore
Pescatore is the perfect neighborhood sidewalk cafe serving Italian specialties and wood oven pizzas with an emphasis on fresh seafood.
Pretty good restaurant. We were
seated near two tables with kids, one of which cried and was not removed. So, the ambience was average and the noise level higher than we would like. But, good menu and food well-prepared. For the wharf area, it's a pretty good value."

Went here for first time recently
with my girlfriend. We started the night with cocktails and the steamed mussles. Sooo tasty! We shared the apple salad and got a bottle of champagne. She had the linguine and clams which were delicate and very flavorful. I had the seabass which was flakey on the outside and fell apart in my mouth. All in all was delicious and very affordable. My only complaint would be the service was noticeably slow but I would rather have a few extra minutes then feel rushed by my server. Will defiantly be back."

Got all dressed up for nothing...
ok if you just want a plain pasta dish or a pizza but, sure isn't Scoma's. I wanted something special and fancy. Don't come here if that's what you are looking for."

Just a block away from
filled-with-tourist-traps Fishermen's Wharf, this place stands out. I live close by and try to stay away from Jeffeson st. Good Italian food (I went with a friend who is second generation Italian and he agreed). I had the Apple Salad and the Chicken Parmesan. and tried one of the California pinot noirs, also very nice."

I made a reservation for 8 at the
last minute on a Friday for dinner with friends from out of town. The service was wonderful, and because I made the reservation via Open Table, we all got a complimentary amuse bouche of a delicious shrimp and cucumber dish. Service was fantastic, and the food was delicious, fresh seafood. I almost never order dessert, but everyone decided to order something because the dessert list looked irresistible! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family."

Good selection to choose from. We
were after seafood. We had the Halibut and Bass and both were delicious. To Note: they do have a gluten free menu. And my selection was delicious!"
Dined on 12/14/2013
Waiter was very nice - but clearly
overwhelmed. Drinks and food to the table was slow. Very slow. Only 2 cooks in the kitchen on a Friday night. A couple mistakes on orders. Use a pen and paper - but we know it's more cool to do it by memory. Dessert menu needs a refresh."

I went here for lunch with my
family. It is close to Fisherman's Wharf, but away from the crowds. The interior is nice. Cloth napkins. The calamari was very, very good. We also dined on crab cakes (ok, but I'm spoiled by Maryland :) clam chowder (excellent), and pizza (also excellent)."
Dined on 12/14/2013
was actually wanting to go to the
place next to Gary Danko's but i was glad we ended up here instead. The server was fun and food was great."
Dined on 11/20/2013
Not great for brunch. Waiter was
nice but food was not very good and over-priced."
Dined on 11/10/2013
the name and the location
suggested a higher caliber eafood experience than we had.. good fish, nothing exceptional...and unfortunately a bit plebian in terms of atmosphere..probably works well for the wharf and tourist crowd..."

OMG, what a lovely restaurant! The
menu was varied and moderately priced, the wine list was choice, the service was terrific. My salmon was one of the best I have ever had, along with the rsotto, and my husband's sea bass was also delicious. It was a terrific find for us, we are pleased to recommend it"
Dined on 11/3/2013
We enjoyed our dinner. God was
very good. excellent servers, they really added to evening and we had fun with them!"
Dined on 10/20/2013
The food is good, which I would
expect given the previous reviews. But it is not as good as their price warrants. It was $7 to add meatballs to my spaghetti. Total price for 3 entrees, meatballs, and no drinks was $100 with tip. For that price I'd expect food that's a little more fancy/top notch. Given the competition, I'd price each dish ideally around $14-$16."

We visited Pescatore with a friend
while visiting the San Francisco area. We all enjoyed our meals, but each of them was a little on the bland side, so be prepared to break out the salt and pepper. We tried the calamari for an appetizer and found the breading just a touch on the heavy side. Both my companions ordered fish (the halibut and salmon) and, with the exception of the lack of seasoning, both were good. My crab cioppino was a significant serving with an abundance of seafood - I ended up needing help to finish the entire serving. The gelato was a very nice finish to our meal - sweet, but not overpoweringly so. We were able to specify one scoop chocolate and two cinnamon (the cinnamon was delicious!)"

I've dined here for dinner and
thought it was outstanding. Went back for brunch and to my suprise, the brunch menu was charming, the staff was polite and we have great service for 9am. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce for the crab benedict was rich and creamy with a little tang. The french toast was a bit dry for my liking but the bacon was salty and chewy and delicious. Must try their giant ham steak next time."

I found this restaurant on Open
Table while searching for restaurants for a upcoming trip. Wow, what a find. The food was delicious and our waiter Marlowe was exceptional!!! He was so friendly and attentive. He bought me a diet coke because I could not decide between a soda or a drink. I chose the drink but I got both!! We even received a special appetizer treat for being "Honored Open Table Guests". That has never happened before. We will surely visit Pescatore again if we are in the San Francisco area and tell all our friends too."

actually quite disappointing for
the price range.....over-cooked fish and bland salads"

Great little restaurant... Food
was excellent... It was our first time highly recommend it"
Dined on 9/17/2013
Enjoyed this restaurant for both
dinner one evening, and then breakfast the following day. Food was excellent, with generous portions. Wine was high quality, and service was excellent overall. A bit of a lag between the time dessert was ordered, but more than made up by the kind service provided by the wait staff. Very casual dining experience, with a nice and varied menu. Very short walk south of Fisherman's Wharf."

Highly praised by the hotel
guests. Breakfast delicious The hostess is amazing making guests and diners welcome And comfortable"

We had a good meal here with a
large group and they were very friendly even with children."
Dined on 9/15/2013
This was a wonderful experience.
The young man at the front was able seat us outside, I know this took some figuring. Our waitress was lovely, knew how to be attentive without being overwhelming. Overall--nice experience."

I was looking forward to very good
food because it's associated with Kimpton. Thought it was pretty average though."
Dined on 8/1/2013
Kinda says it all. This is
definitely a tourist spot - we dined there out of convenience before a concert at the America's Cup Pavillion. The food is unremarkable, service was good. Not somewhere I'd choose to dine given the great choices available to locals."
Dined on 8/18/2013
If you are near Fisherman's Wharf
and want a good meal with excellent service, this is the place."
Dined on 8/17/2013
We had great cocktails and a
lovely meal, in warm, welcoming surroundings, served by helpful and friendly staff. After several days of being overwhelmed by US portion sizes, it was a relief to see that Pescatore favours quality over quantity."
Dined on 8/11/2013
The chicken panini with salad was
good and a good value for the price, but I can't say the same about the crab cake trio of sliders. The taste was certainly good, but it wasn't a very good value. For $14.00 you got three small crab cakes on slider rolls (good bread, by the way) but no side green salad or anything else - just the three sliders. My friend shared some of her salad from her panini plate with me because she had plenty and just that little bit she gave me on the bread plate was perfectly fine. So it would really be nice if they served those crab cake sliders with some side greens, even if it is just a little. But the taste was really good."

We stayed in fishermans wharf for
a few days. Great pizza, excellent appetizers, and the crab ravioli was very unique. I will definitely dine when I visit again"

After cycling in to Sasaulito on a
tourist filled August Sunday, I was greeted with warmth and politeness, in spite of the restaurant being very busy. Our waiter, Victor, served in the most attentive way, while busily attending to other tables in the same, professional manner. Auxiliary staff were equally polite and attentive. The food was excellent. No complaints here, only accolades."

My daughters and I found Pescatore
on Open Table's website while looking for a restaurant close to Pier 33 in San Francisco. We were coming back from a trip to Alcatraz and needed a good place to go for dinner. Pescatore was great -- great service, great food, very reasonable prices."

Treat to have a staff that
actually seems to be professional and enjoys what they are doing. They treated my grandson like a real customer, and I think it shocked him at first, but in the end he was impressed P"
Dined on 6/28/2013
Nice for lunch. Also has parking
close, which is nice in San Francisco. Would have liked to try the cioppino, but they do not serve it for lunch. Crab ravioli's were very good. Close to Pier 39, and other sites to see. Overall good experience."
Dined on 7/8/2013
We had the calamari and the
cioppino, which they split into two serving bowls so we could share. Very fresh, delicious! The service was great despite it being a holiday and they were very busy."
Dined on 7/4/2013
We had two large groups - 14 in
total. Service was slow. Handled smaller parties better. Food was better than average"
Dined on 6/20/2013
We have been returning to Café
Pescatoré for DECADES, and they have NEVER let us down."
Dined on 6/18/2013
Able to get a reservation 1-2 days
out using Open Table App. Food was good and prices were reasonable. We were seated close to the bar at 7:30 and it was difficult to hold a conversation due to the bar being loud and an expressive table next to us, but after 8:15 it mellowed out when the bar cleared out and the table next to us left. You may want to request a table in the back before 8:30. Have to say that it's hard to believe this restaurant got 3 stars on Yelp. We will be back!"
Dined on 6/6/2013
Visiting for a few days. Was
attracted by the good reviews on tripadvisor. Good choice. The service and the food was delicious. We ordered the 4 cheese pizza, the meatball pasta, tuna tartare, tomato soup. Enjoyed our meal thoroughly!!"
Dined on 6/6/2013
We came here for a meal, and ended
up having a food experience that was magnificent. We are going again - for our anniversary tonight!"
Dined on 5/21/2013
Great food, great service, great
experience (and smells like a fine restaurant-not like Fisherman's Wharf!). iked the place so much we ate there on three occasions during our eight day stay in S.F."
