  • "I love the food. Look forward to going back with my date. "

  • "This was a good meal. Not fabulous, but good. The gnucci was the hi light of the meal, one of the best I tasted. The seafood pot was good but there was the absolute no no for me, sand. Would try again "

  • "My husband and I have dined many times at Pescatore and have never been disappointed. Our guests also have remarked about how lucky we are to have such a nice restaurant close by."

  • "We have eaten at Pescatore twice and had similar experiences both leaving us unexcited about the food. Certainly not bad or even mediocre but not quite up to the price. "

  • "Loved entering the restaurant thru heavy drape panel--very romantic. P.E.I. mussels were excellent! The pesto oil was divine. Also split an arugula salad that was deeeeeelish. Leave room for the chocolate cake b/c you won't taste one like this one in your lifetime."

  • "nice selection of main courses. Caesar flat bread was a hit with everyone at our table. The chef provided background on dishes before our selection of entrees, not sure this would happen for everyone as we had one of the first reservations. Veal dish was not as warm as I would have preferred."

  • "I wasn't expecting much given that it's not on a Main Street, but the minute I walked in I was impressed. The menu has a great variety, all of which is fresh. They cook to order, and all their fish comes right from the boat, primarily because the owners also own a fish market in the Italian market of Philadelphia. Both myself and my friend who came agreed, we will absolutely be coming back."

  • "Wonderful night out with friends. Smaller crowds and very attentive staff."

  • "Awesome dinner for my son's Birthday! So many great selection and having just come back from an Italy vaction we were very impressed with the food. Our server, Giovanni, was outstanding and if you are planning on going here your should request him."

  • "As we had just come in from the UK, we did not realise that this was a BYOB place, so we were so grateful that the manager treated us to a complimentary glass from his own cellar. That would never happen in Italy! We rarely go to an italian, particularly when not in Europe, but this was an excellent experience, all told. Each dish was well prepared, nicely presented and of good proportions, and, even more importantly, tasted delicious. Both the service and the atmosphere were good. You should go here to taste their offerings, if you are close by, but do remember to take your wine, which you can match to their one line menu."

  • "This is our third trip to Pescatore and we keep getting surprised by the quality of the food, the great specials and nice waitstaff. We celebrated my father's 75th birthday with a nice dinner. We each had a different app and entree and no one was disappointed. Wonderful fish, great octopus app (my favoirite!), buttery soft steaks and desserts you only wish you could make. We will return and we tell everyone about our new favorite place to eat. You will not be disappointed."

  • "Once again, an outstanding meal. The menu is appropriate, the service is lovely, and the food is well-prepared. Always a pleasure to dine here."

  • "Went there midweek for a birthday. The food was awesome. Their flatbread caesar salad is fantastic and the tuna tartare was delicious. Beautiful fish (Halibut and Bronzino) was perfectly cooked for main course. The wait staff was attentive but, not intrusive and gave helpful recommendations. It was the best meal I've had in a while. I'm trying to think of another special occasion so we can go back."

  • "3 gal pals went recently to celebrate our irlfriends's "special" birthday. Everything was wonderful. The tuna tartare appetizer (served in a martini glass) was perfection as was the branzino entree. Be sure to save room for dessert. The chocolate and cannolis are well worth the calories!!!"

  • "This is a great little Italian restaurant across from the Bala Theater. This is our second time there. The service is great and the food is not only great but presented well. The only complaint from my Italian wife and I is the bread. They serve it cold, or room temperature and that's a no-no for my wife. I prefer a more airy dough with a thick crust for dipping. If you go, try the grilled octopus appetizer which is to die for. the octopus meat is super tender, not rubbery. Every entre we've had has been delicious."

  • "Hit or miss on the food. The branzino was good, but it was supposed to have crabmeat on top, I could only find about 1 teaspoon of crabmeat. The skate was so salty it was inedible. The gnocci was a little too mushy. Chocolate cake was large enough for four and very good. The bill came to $180 for four entrees and two deserts. We won't be going back."

  • "Chef is outstanding. Known for their outstaning Branzino but I love the sea bass too. Their ossa buco (when it in on the menu) is the best I have ever had. Service is wonderful. Very friendly atmosphere."

  • "The food and service at this hidden gem is outstanding. I have eaten here 3 times now and each time the specials almost outlist the regular menu (meaning there are lots of options which are constantly changing). We have had groups from 3 to 7 which Pescatore's has accommodated without hesitation. They do not sell alcohol, but do have a Bring-Your-Own-Bottle policy. I recommend callling ahead if you plan to bring something other than wine, to ensure they have your base/setup."

  • "From start to finish this was an excellent dining experience. The host took our jackets, the server knew her stuff and was polite, the appetizer entree and dessert were all phenomenal. Did I mention it's BYOB. #newfave"

  • "Everything was wonderful from greeting to goodnight. The staff was very pleasant and attentive... very clear on explaining the specials, not just running through them methodically. Flatbread Caesar was very tasty along with the oysters on a half shell. The Chillean sea bass was incredible. Also loved the location. It has an,we are out on the town/in the neighborhood feel all at the same time.We will be back."

  • "The food is the attraction and is always excellent—making this one of the very few outstanding restos on the Main Line. However some policies and the service are neither uniform nor predictable. This Valentine's Day, there was a special menu fixe, and the usual daily specials on the "regular" menu. We were disappointed to be told that our table of two had to choose from the militant policy of either ordering for both of us from one or the other menu. As there was little overlap, this became a problem. It seemed clear the policy was for the convenience of the kitchen. I think establishments should have to compromise, not customers. I think the "choice" should have been made clear up front, if not online to begin with."

  • "We took our teenage son and daughter out with us for a valentine's Day dinner. Everything was very good, but we were not Wowed by the food or the menu. I have a shellfish allergy and there were few choices for me. If you are a fan of seafood, there are many menu options and this may be a hotspot for you. No one in our party eats shellfish so we had few options."

  • "There was a special Valentine Day menu that was superb, being four courses with enough variety for those watching carbs. Nothing was rushed, and everything was served nicely."

  • "I took my crab cake loving friend out for her birthday ; we were there on Sunday - she scheduled her husband for a return visit on Friday of the same week !!! Valentine's Day !!! She loved it.!!!!! The Grana Panada cheese and. flavored olive oil served with the great bread was excellent. . Mushroom risotto that I had on a previous visit was not available. Order it , when it is available it is outstanding. The watress chatted too long and too loudly with the customers at the next tablle. Everyone I take to this spot has been favorablly impressed. I shall return."

  • "Yogi Berra once said about a highly touted restaurant, "nobody goes there any more…it's too crowded." Pescatore is crowded, even in winter when those bone-chilling drafts storm right past the drapes inside the front door. Skimpy space between tables, so it can get very noisy on weekends. It is BYOB and that tends to increase the decibel level. The menu isn't very deep, a couple of chicken choices, a couple of veal choices. three seafood choices. When the weather is better the seafood specials are your best bet.The restaurant is convenient to the popular Bala Theatre and there's a nearby parking lot. The prices are fair, the service is swift and friendly, and you do get to bring your own wine, which explains its popularity."

  • "We took our mother there to celebrate her 68th birthday. I wanted a great location near her home, right off city avenue. We had a great time and most importantly my mother enjoyed herself and the food. We will definitely go back!"

  • "This was our third experience and it was far different from our others. The staff acted independently, asking us 5 times in a span of less than 5 minutes if we wanted our appetizers removed from the table. The salad fork was of inferior quality and easily bent when used. Three of four entrees arrived with a bit of a wait for the fourth and, when it appeared, a curious addition was discovered. Identified as a pepper stem, there were no peppers in the entree. We weren't asked if we wanted additional coffee at the end of our meal and we couldn't even get the attention of the waitstaff as, with only four tables still filled in the restaurant, they apparently thought their shift had ended. Needless to say, we were very disappointed!"

  • "Quality of food was lacking if only slightly. The chicken dish was under-seasoned and the short ribs were a bit overcooked and also lacked flavor."

  • "The food was delicious, the server polite,, would definitely return."

  • "In addition to serving excellent food, the ownership found a way to solve the noise problem by installing ceiling panels. The restaurant was totally filled with patrons and the noise level was low. My wife made a point of saying she could not wait to come back for another meal."

  • "There were four of us dining that night and we all agreed that the food was superb. Not a morsel was left on anyone's plate and the wait staff was attentive and went along with our corny senses of humor . Would recommend this restaurant with no "reservations". (pun intended)"

  • "Four of us had dinner at this BYOB on Dec. 26th. As usual, the menu provided a large variety of selections which were supplemented by the specials for the day. At our request the red wine was opened and served. The white was chilled next to our table. The food came out in a timely, but not rushed, fashion, and was both creatively prepared and delicious. My wife's selection was not a hot as she desired, and she asked our waiter to if it could be heated. He immediately and graciously obliged. He dish was returned in a couple of minutes without any significant interruption to our dining experience. In fact, the short heating interlude simply gave her a chance to sample what the other three of us were having."

  • "Absolutely perfect. From the menu to the service. Friendly, fantastic and festive. A great way to enjoy Mainline dining on Christmas Eve."

  • "We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the restaurant. This was no exception, although my veal choice was not a good one. The jalapeno peppers in the mashed potatoes and in the veal made this the spiciest dish I have have tried, not withstanding having eaten Mexican and Szechuan cooking. They offered to replace the entree, but I considered it my fault and declined."

  • "I have had six meals at this restaurant and the food has typically been excellent each time. The service also is prompt and provides attention to details."

  • "This was our 6th time dining at Pescatore. In the past, we have thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Not so this trip. Although nothing was bad, nothing was very good. My wife and my friends wife each had Bronzino. Not bad but no real taste. I had a veal dish as did my friend. Neither dish had much taste. We will go back again but if food is as it was the other night, we will go elsewhere."

  • "We arrived and were greeted quite nastily by the hostess who took our wine and threw us out to the waiting area which is curtained off in the tiny vestibule. We were seated rather quickly so that was a plus. The oysters which were not cheap and were just ok. Our companion did seem to enjoy his chicken liver appetizer. The main courses everyone enjoyed. My pasta dish was very good as was the fish. We had a spill of red wine at the table which caused some excitement. The hostess which is the owners mother came over and handled the situation very poorly. Instead of trying to help us, she complained that we were making too much noise. Fortunately, our waitress handled the situation much better. The best part of the meal was the desserts."
