PescaraPescara PoppedThis was my first time dining at this restaurant. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, my only complaint was that my steak the I had ordered was basically rubber, even though I had as for my steak medium rare.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was what I'd hoped for-It's nicer and quieter than your average restaurant, and the service was outstanding. My steak was excellent and my wife's linguini & tuna was too. It's not kid-friendly, a BIG plus for us. Additionally, it's just two blocks from the Rochester Civic Center and there's plenty of parking nearby, and that parking is free on weekend evenings. We liked it, and it was a great start to a nice, romantic evening.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Seafood! My family went to Pescara for my mother's birthday. I highly recommend the small plate platter for two as an appetizer - it had a little of everything we wanted to try and is enough to serve 3-4 people if you are also ordering meals. The wild mushroom risotto was a great side to pair with all of our seafood dishes and we enjoyed our wine/mixed drinks!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing taste!Enjoyed my lunch! Soup gazpacho, fish tacos with mahi mahi and green salad for lunch tasted very good! Will come again!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunch $10 menuOur group was composed of 13 people on hand to celebrate April birthdays of 2 co-workers. The $10 lunch menu provides a nice variety of options to choose from.
But, for me the Ahi Tuna Burger is always my choice.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievable food and theUnbelievable food and the wait staff was absolutely outstanding. Our waitress was well-informed and very helpful about the food and the preparations. The atmosphere is comfortable, with a downtown bigger city feeling. We will definitely return to try other dishes!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceVery nice restaurant. In Doubletree hotel, but very nice as a stand alone. Food and service were excellent. Ambiance is very nice, albeit a bit small. Highly recommend!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWhat can I say........I keep coming back. Everything good...special kudos to the young lady who took my coat4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis has become one of ourThis has become one of our favorite restaurants. The lobster bisque is to die for. The filet and scallops were perfectly done. It is on the pricey side, but for that special evening, it is worth every penny.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNumber 1 RestMy go to Resteraunt! They never disappoint with their fresh seafood and preparations. On this night their special appetizer included a lobster/crab stuffed potato halves with an aioli dip. Awesome! Our tuna and halibut entrees were excellent along with a side of broccoli. Pescara is number 1 in our book!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed my dinnerI really enjoyed my dinner of halibut with a side order of mushrooms. I was in Rochester on business and dined alone. The staff couldn't have been nicer! The tables are fairly close together and ended up next to a quartet of doctors talking shop. (Perhaps to be expected in Mayo Clinic land?) The kitchen had run out of the chocolate dessert I had my heart set on. Ordered room service from Doubletree the following evening. Also very good pasta with shrimp.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful lobster bisque.Wonderful lobster bisque. Wine glasses were the right shape and rim.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is always a pleasure toIt is always a pleasure to dine here at Pescara when im in Rochester. The service and food is always "GREAT"4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent (IThe food was excellent (I had the cioppino, the grilled asparagus, and the wild mushrooms, with homemade chocolate ice cream for dessert), and the staff was attentive but never intrusive. My only quibble would be the lighting-- I could hardly see the menu when it came.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMany excellent items on theMany excellent items on the menu-- I always order too much! Sides are excellent. I've had a few overcooked pieces of fish here though (especially the swordfish). Now I know what to avoid so I always have an excellent meal.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPrices are much too high.Prices are much too high. A piece of fish $37.00 without a side dish. $150.00 for two without salad, side dish, dessert or coffee. You leave hungry and feel like you payed for a large meal.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding and theFood was outstanding and the service impeccable. One of the few places in Minnesota to enjoy truly fresh fish. Food preparations are imaginative and delicious. A bowl of lobster bisque could be a meal in itself. Menu items are pricey, but this kind of quality experience is worth the cost.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe halibut was cooked perfectly,The halibut was cooked perfectly, not overdone. Our server was very attentive.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceExcellent food and service in a nice environment. Efficient service. Good choice for dining for business purpose as well.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressiveHeld a business dinner for guests from California where fresh seafood is plentiful and good. Our business guest were very impressed with Pescara and said the food and service were easily on par with some of the finer resteraunts in the Bay Area. The grouper was particularly good!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful service and theWonderful service and the food was also wonderful. !! Just a very wonderful time.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in Rochester for aWe were in Rochester for a special weekend and wanted to find a top-rated restaurant. Very happy previous diners had rated Pescara so high - it was great! Not the absolute best restaurant we had ever been to, but was still very good. Great service and knowledgeable staff, we had a great dinner.
Not memorable to the point of wanting to go back next time we're in Rochester, but we would recommend it to friends.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent seafood, at a premiumPescara offers reliably excellent fish and seafood in a nice atmosphere. The service was helpful and the recommendation from the wait staff were also good. Pescara has a nice wine list, but like the menu items, everything was slightly overpriced compared to a similar quality restaurant in a large market. Still, excellent sea food in Rochester MN is appreciated.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPescara is our go-to restaurantPescara is our go-to restaurant in Rochester for romantic date nights, entertaining guests, and even kid-friendly brunches on the weekends. The ambiance is comfortable, elegant, and modern, but not stuffy. The food is consistently value-oriented, with complex flavor profiles, satisfying portion sizes, and creative ingredients for the cost. HITS include: tuna tartare, calamari, hummus and scallops; all the salads are good; the wild rice, sauteed spinach, risotto, brussels sprouts are all amazing sides; the bronzini (especially), halibut, and grouper are all delightful, and the steaks are consistently good. The service is knowledgeable, attentive, personable, and NOT snooty. The cocktails are expertly mixed, and the wine selection is solid!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough our raw oysters forAlthough our raw oysters for our appetizer were very small, expensive and not very good, our fish entrees were excellent. Had grilled scallops in lemon beurre blanc sause and halibut with truffle sauce Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Enjoyed the Brussels sprouts side dish and reasonable bottle of wine.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
