We were both a little skeptical that a pork chop could be that praiseworthy. It seemed like all our friends and family were talking about it. We reluctantly decided to go for lunch on a Friday. We shared one lunch portion of the pork chop and were amazed by how large it was. To our taste buds delight it was incredible. We will definitely be making routine visits for the pork chop. The next night we went to our favorite restaurant that we have been going to for years and it was less than satisfying after having gone to Perry's. This is definitely a place to visit when you are in the mood to splurge. We were celebrating our 38th year and I wanted something special. Perry's was just as I expected and more. My pecan crusted red snapper was fresh and very tasty. My husband had a filet and he was absolutely very complimentary with his steak. The sides are served family style and we had more than enough to eat. The sides weren't ideal but the entrees and service more than made up for it. I was a little put off when they tried to seat us at a two-top given that the place was relatively slow, but luckily they agreed to move us when asked. Unfortunately I saw them try to do the same to another couple when it really wasn't necessary given that the restaurant was not full. They really should take care of customers and leave those small two-tops for those folks who come without reservations and are willing to take what they can get just to get a seat. My husband and I have eaten at some of the best places over our 33 yrs of marriage and we would have to rank Perry's in the top 5! My wife is one of those individuals that never know what to get a a new restaurant and the server took his time explaining how each dish she asked about is prepared and cooked and even gave her some recommendations. I can say that their seafood is on par with their meat dishes. Our Sea Bass was cooked perfectly with a firm texture and excellent flavor. Our waitstaff was attentive as always. The steaks are thick cut and well prepared and the Friday porkchop is a thing of beauty! A beautifully smoked chunk of meat, cooked through yet tender and seared just before service to provide a caramelized crust to enhance the smokiness and rub. Having made a reservation through OpenTable, my group was seated at the exact time of our reservation. Though the restaurant was quite busy, the wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Everyone at our table chose the Friday lunch special - THE PORK CHOP. The presentation, with table side carving for each plate was entertaining and informative. At the suggestion of our waiter we ordered the warm chocolate cake dessert for the four of us and it was the perfect ending to quite enjoyable lunch.
