  • "I had a filet mignon, it had no flavor. Tasted the ribeye which tasted better than the filet, however neither steak came even remotely close to other local steak houses - not even the lower price point steak houses. Also had the roasted cream corn, which tasted burned vs. roasted. Had the desert trio, not impressed. The timing of service was sub-par, when there is a party of 4 or less, that should not be an issue. When the meal is served, ALL of the meal should be served... . The location is beautifully designed, but that does not disguise the ordinary food and service, which just cannot justify the price. Of all the steakhouses in San Antonio, I put this at the bottom of the list of choices, it was just okay."

  • "The experience and the quality of food plus the service was not acceptable. The reservations were set for a specific time, however the staff did not sit us until 20-25 minutes later. The server seemed to have a non-caring attitude and had a real lack of knowledge for the menu. When he did explain the menu, it was apparent that he was "Winging" it. It took a minimum of 20 minutes to obtain a drink. One of the main courses is their "Pork Chop". It took two Pork Chops before we were served. Apparently the 1 chop they brought to our table and cut in front of us, was said to be DEFECTIVE. Why would an establishment such as this purchase DEFECTIVE MEAT? For the amount of Money I spent for a dinner for 3, this was a Low Budget service and food!"

Amazing deal and amazing food. One of the entree choices was their famous pork chop and it was delicious as were all the other items."

The server(s) were very nice, although the menus (normal, 4 for $44, and restaurant week) were not explained well, nor were any particular entrees recommended. With that being said, the service was timely and the food was very good. Highly recommend getting the D'Angelo flambe (served tableside)."

  • "I have eaten at the Houston and San Antonio Perry's multiple times and always have a special dining experience. Service is exceptional; food is superb. While it's difficult for me to veer from the popular pork chop, the steaks are equally tender, flavorful. Appetizers and desserts are creative and a party for the taste buds. Crab cake - yum! The peanut butter chocolate dessert is my favorite, but I recently tried the Nutty d'Angelo and my favorite dessert now has a rival. Ambience is "casual elegance" - love that the background music is noticeable and notable but not intrusive. For any occasion, Perry's provides a fine-dining experience that will have customers raving long after their visit."

  • "If you like a noisy dark dining experince, this is it. Food is above average. Service was quick. Bar tables are the only tables near a window BUT bar is noisy too, bar chairs are uncomfortable and too low for the table height. Bar setting is not special or fit for fine dining. Area is lack luster. Salads, salmon, and burger were tasty. Flaming ice cream dessert was disappointing. Restaurant has 4 course $44 Prix Fix Menu special beginning at 4 PM, but declined to make it available for a late brunch time of 3 PM."

  • "It was excellent for a business lunch. It was loud enough so that people could not overhear yet quiet enough to where I could talk. Austin was amazing. He found out that it was a business meeting and only showed up to the table when we were eating. In other words? We were not conducting business. The food, as always, was fantastic. Don't let the name scare you. For what you get and price of food, it was actually affordable and well priced. I will come back. I always do."

  • "White Wine served not chilled and extra ice was never brought by our waiter even though he promised it. Our food was mediocre at best. Food timing was terrible. Side dish arrived 15 minutes before the entree. Waiter carved pork chop table side but gave poor information with it. Overall pork chop was more fat than edible meat. Not our first time to order it so we have had it and enjoyed it before. We will not be returning."

  • "I always enjoy Perry's. Steaks are top notch. Get the 4-course for $44 special while you can...an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. I recommend the ahi tuna tartare to lead off with, then the pear and pecan salad, the 6 oz filet and the Nutty D'Angelo for dessert (you won't be disappointed with that!). The place has nice decor and the bar area is nice. Restrooms have TVs in the mirrors which is very cool. My one complaint is their lobster bisque...it's average at best for such an excellent restaurant...wish they'd try a new recipe for it."

Brian was our server again, and he did his familiar good job. The food and wine were yummy. Once again we were too full for dessert, but it is on our must try another time."

  • "Perry's pork chop (3 ribs!) is succulent and tasty. The seasoning is not overpowering, and the savory applesauce served on the side is a lovely accompaniment to the meat. It is very large, and you will end of taking some home. The service is unsurpassed--each waiter explains the pork chop in the same manner (it is served in three pieces: Eyelash (filet), loin and ribs), and the description alone will entice you to order it. The pork chop is the most ordered meal, especially at Friday lunch (2 1/2 ribs high for less than $12), and Sunday dinner, (3 ribs, salad, dessert trio for less than $25). The meal is about the meat--and you will be satisfied!! Note that the steaks are significantly higher priced, but also well worth the price."
