  • "I treated a special friend to lunch. The restaurant was the perfect setting. I had made reservations and was given the perfect table. I had not seen my friend in a long time. Perry's was just the right location for us to catch up. The service and food was excellent! very please with the experience."

  • "Our dinner for 2 was celebrating a special occasion on a Friday night. Food and service met and exceeded all expectations. We were seated at a table for 4 on the main aisle. We would have preferred a table for 2, further into the restaurant, away from the bar and should have asked for it. Next time."

  • "Our first visit to the famous Perry's Steakhouse. So we ordered the acclaimed Pork Chop which is a steal on Pork Chop Friday. We also ordered the Perry's house Cabernet without asking the price assuming the house wine is usually a low cost wine. Our meal was fantastic. We ordered another round of the house cab. Then we got the check 4 house wines $72. $18/glass. When you are dumb you have to be tough. I should have asked the price. The manager kindly reduced our bill slightly when I talked with him about my blunder. Nice touch."

  • "The food here continues to slip lower in quality. The beef was tasteless and wasn't near the level expected in a good steak house. The side orders were also bland, with the vegetables being particularly disappointing. Also, it's unclear why Perry's continues to seat dinner patrons in the less comfortable bar seating area when there are many open tables in the main dining area. On a positive note, the server was outstanding and did all she could to overcome the poor food and table. Overall, this place appears to be on the way down and is easily bested by the nearby competition."

  • "Tough meat, weird smell in restroom holeway area, servers blocking the holeway talking. It used to be better, that's why I took my girlfriend there. I don't want to anymore."

  • "The food was fantastic - from the sausage appetizer right through to one of the best desserts I've ever had -- the candy bar -- (high praise because I love dessert!). The steaks were amazing. Cowboy ribeye was superb and so was filet mignon. Roasted cauliflower was really good. Service was terrific. My husband had a problem with the way his steak was cooked, and the staff was very concerned and insisted on making him a new steak so he was sure to enjoy it. We brought our two teenagers and they were glad they came. Would definitely recommend Perry's."

  • "Went and found the restaurant to be busy. No problem but it was evident they knew it was our anniversary. There were rose petals on the table which was nice. I got free desert last time for my birthday and sort of expected something of that sort this time. Turns out we didn't get anything and service was a bit rushed. Also turns out my friend called ahead of time to let them know about our anniversary and asked if there was a free desert. He asked for him to make sure we got it alongside a specific waiter we always get. None of those requests were met even though the manager said he'd ensure it."

  • "We had come here based on a friend's recommendation. They were able to sit us near the "wall of wine" which made for a quiet evening. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and was completely blown away by the execution! The bacon was tightly wrapped and still crispy while the scallops were still very tender. Usually the scallops tend to be overcooked and chewy in a dish like this but definitely was not the case here!!! We were told we had to try the Chateaubriand, it's a Filet Mignon cut into three medallions and served with their three signature sauce's. Absolutely cooked to perfection! I definitely recommend trying this place!"

  • "I took my father here for a late Father's Day dinner. He has told me several times that he wanted a good steak before he died. Perry's didn't disappoint! My dad had the ribeye and I had the 6 oz filet. Both were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The sides were also very good---even though that's not why we were there. The Sweet Sriracha Brussels Sprouts were very unique and I absolutely loved them. I could have made a meal on just those. When we left, my dad told me he could die happy because he's finally had a good steak!!"

  • "A friend was in town. I'd have taken her to something more Texas-only like TLC or Bob's, but Perry's had a reservation open when we wanted to meet up. This turned out to be an excellent decision. Martinis, salads, steaks, a bottle of wine -- all staples when dining at a steak house. Everything here was solidly done well. We were even talked into a flaming dessert, which isn't my usual MO but was a nice end to the meal. What made our meal most notable was our service. One word: ALEX. With him as our server, all I could say is, "Shut up and take my money!" Professional through and through. Helpful when needed. Personality that sparkles. The fact that I'm writing this review nearly two months later and remember his name says it all."

  • "We ate lunch at Perry's on July 4th. The asparagus/lump crab meat appetizer was delicious. My lobster bisque was smooth and buttery with a couple tablespoons of lobster pieces. My husband enjoyed his wedge salad, though the dressing was a little spicier than he expected - more like a Caesar dressing - but declicious. Our 'lunch cut' pork chops were amazing! They are seasoned, large and smoked/cooked to perfection. My husband thought they brought us the wrong order - dinner cut - because they were HUGE! The pork chop waiter explained the best way to eat them as he cut each into 3 separate sections. Chops come with mashed potatoes and Perry's own applesauce. No room for dessert. Hope to visit again on symphony nights."

  • "This restaurant, while very pricey, is worth every penny for a special occasion. It was delicious!! They gave us a complimentary dessert for my husband's birthday also. You have to try the pork chop!!!!!!"

  • "Ordered 16 ounce tenderloin well done and couldn't eat all the meat as the center was rare! This should have been an no brainer for the restaurant, cook and waiter that a 16 ounce for two should have been split into two 8 ounce steaks. Instead they tried to cook 16 ounces of steak well done and failed. Oh and then they bring it to our table and then cut into two 8 ounce steaks!"

  • "A few weeks before my evening dining, I had lunch at Perry's with girlfriends. Everything was perfect, although it was packed. I had the pork chops and they were EXCELLENT! We were seated in a comfortable booth. I couldn't wait to take my husband and out of town friends....so we drove in from Georgetown for dinner dining. I made a reservation. I ask for booth seating and quiet area. Instead, we were escorted upstairs to a table. The noise level was intense. I halved a pork chop (dinner size) but the portion was much smaller than my lunch size and not nearly as meaty or tasty. Just a little disappointed."

  • "This restaurant had all the qualities of a very good restaurant: excellent service, good ambiance and a good looking menu. The one missing item? Quality food. When an a la carte steak is just shy of $50, there is a certain expectation of portion and quality. The steak was small-ish and a good third of it was fat and gristle. The quality of the meat was OK. Good but not great. My friend and I shared two side dishes as well. The au gratin potatoes were just a messy, untextured slop of oozing cheese but the creamed spinach was good."

  • "Perry's Friday Pork Chop special is Awesome! We all had that for lunch, it was a huge piece not shy at all with what they serve. The price is just right for lunch and can't say enough how delicious the pork chop was, everyone at our table made the same comment. Definetly would recommend this to anyone having a special occasion or with a group of friends."

  • "Great meal. Seemed to be short-staffed but it WAS Father's Day. Our waiter was very nice, but overworked. We sat for quite awhile to order and then no bread came...when we asked, he said he had just put it in the oven as they were overworked in the kitchen. Bread came about 10 minutes later. Really an excellent place for dinner or lunch...a bit pricey but it's Austin and the quality is worth it. Going to try the Happy Hour next week."

  • "My husband wanted to go here for father's day because he loves the steak. Our teenage daughter got a side of mac and cheese, which was wonderful. My son and I are vegetarians and had a very limited selection. The only salad without meat was the pear and nut salad. It was good, but had a spicy kick I wasn't expecting. I couldn't get the baked potato as they are pre-rubbed in bacon fat. I was thankful our waiter let me know. Instead we got the mashed potato and french fries. The peanut butter dessert was also a hit. Even though this is a steak house, having at least one vegetarian entree would be appreciated. Most places have a pasta dish that other can add meat to if desired."

  • "Fathers Day dinner here taking advantage of their three course dinner special. Caesar salad was quite good and had a choice of other salads. The Pork Chop Special was a giant piece of meat, carved tableside into the lash, the loin and three ribs. The pork was juicy and quite good. Served with applesauce. We had mac and cheese and Au gratin potatoes as sides that were good but the potatoes were almost too cheesy...and I never thought I would say such a thing. The desert was a trio of small deserts, praline cheesecake, Creme Boules and a chocolate/Grand Mariner truffle. All decent, although the truffle was a bit rich for me. Service was timely and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is modern steakhouse. I'm sure we'll be back."
