I began the evening with a cocktail at the bar and was impressed with the skill and knowledge of the bartender, although I've forgotten her name. The other members of my party were running late and the hostess graciously held our table until their arrival. The beginning of the meal went smoothly, with attentive servers and well-spaced courses. Unfortunately, by the end of our dinner, it seemed as though we had been forgotten and were left waiting quite a while to place our dessert orders. The upside to this was that someone must have overheard the birthday honoree mention her dessert preference, because it was brought to our table, with a candle.
