A word from Perry St
Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times.
Jean-Georges’ son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square.

Overall great experience, the food was fantastic! Cocktail list was extensive and quite exotic, all the drinks we tried were amazing and tasty. Service was good but waiter was a little negative when asked questions about the cocktail list and menu. The waiter should have asked more questions to get a sense of what the customer would like rather than knocking down items on the menu.

Food is flawless and seasonal specialty cocktails are all well conceived. Gorgeous(think chic, lush but yet still minimal) space. What is so nice about Perry St is that you can truly have a fabulous meal and hold a conversation(without yelling) at a major downtown restaurant in NYC. A rarity. Get the fried chicken-even if just to put in the middle of the table for everyone to have a taste-will be an instant addict!

Probably one of the best places to go for a quiet lunch. Geographically challenged on West Street and Perry, but it's worth the trip for the food alone. Lunch is ideal for quiet meetings, and can easily accommodate a large group. The evenings are quite different. Currently with a $28 prix fix lunch menu, hope it continues. There are only a few restaurants like this left in the city. JG at Columbus Circle has a more impressive decor, with real table cloths at lunch, and is usually busier but also a great lunch. Highly recommend Perry St

Had the American Caviar (Golden Fried Eggs with Vodka Cream), Grilled Loin with Crispy Leg of Rabbit, Tri-Star Strawberries and a complimentary Chocolate Pudding. I usually order the same dishes whenever I go to Perry St - they didn't have the pea soup, so I tried the caviar. The fried eggs looked interesting but it didn't really have a taste. The caviar tasted like caviar. For the main course I usually order the chicken, but I always wanted to try rabbit. Bit of a mistake, the rabbit leg was bland too, although the loin was ok. A bit disappointed, I almost didn't order dessert. I'm glad I did! The strawberries were delicious, and the pudding with crystalized violets is to die for. I know now to stick to chicken and leave room for dessert.

Very Romantic Restaurant, Staff was Friendly but to many servers taking care of our table was asked the same question numerous time within minutes of each other. Food was very good but plating was uninspiring. Jean George has many great restaurants in the city but sadly this is not one of them.

We had a lovely brunch at Perry Street this Labor Day Weekend. The menu was varied and ranged from traditional brunch items to lunch specialties which included poached lobster, sushi and their signature fried chicken. Brunch items included great pancakes, french toast and a variety of unique egg dishes. Wines were superb and service was spot on. This is a lovely, bright, modern restaurant located steps from the Battery Park promenade. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

We love Perry street and come as often as we can. The view, the service, the wine, the food, can't be beat. I love the tuna rice rolls and the salads, and the entrees are sophisticated but not gratuitously busy. My only beef is with the desserts. We had three desserts at the table and I would not order a single one of them again. The chocolate had too much fresh mint and came off as bitter and medicinal (the ice cream matched it in herbal strength), the olive oil ice cream begged the question "why?", and the strawberry desert came with leathery dried strawberry coins that were conversation-stoppers. Still the appetizers and entrees were blissful, the restaurant lively but not deafening and the service top notch. Of course we'll be back!

This was our first time at this trendy and classy restaurant, but it won't be our last. Every course was perfectly prepared and presented, and the waiter was unfailingly gracious and helpful without being cloying or intrusive. The decor is modern and sophisticated, but the room nonetheless is comfortable, not cold. Top marks all around.

Read good comments about this restaurant on Open table and decided to try it. The place is modern and the decor is very nice (uncluttered). The service was friendly and professional. I ordered the Crispy French Toast and my hubby the Buttermilk Pancakes. The French toast presentation was WOW. Don't they say that we eat with our eyes first? :) Coffee was also perfectly balanced! Was there during restaurant week 2014. The menu was boring, there was way too much noise (loud Rihanna and other dance music playing) and the waiter rushed our three course menu through so that we finished within one hour. I guess so that they could sell the table one more time. I know the restaurant week menu is cheaper but if you can't afford to serve it, don't.

The chocolate molten cake was to die for! Best thing on the menu. When I asked how do they do this, the waiver responded softly: "magic". Unfortunately the hake wasn't cooked 100% through, but that we overlooked that due to the fine quality of the food generally.

Calamari good. Salmon sashimi was with flavorfully spiced broth but salmon could have used touch of sea salt. Fried chicken not particuarly seasoned, breast meat dry!!! Rabbit was excellent. Molten chocolate cake, a cliche but excellent! Chef cooks with spiced Asian flair. Would go back. However they should not allow children below 5, as there was a screaming baby!!!!!! And I mean screaming!! Why parents have such a sense of entitlement is beyond me! You can afford to eat here? Then you can afford a babysitter. Get one! Or pay for everyone' s meal because you have ruined theirs. Management needs to exercise discretion because it ruins dining experience for others. ( yes I have a child too).

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I've had in NYC! The crafted cocktails, professional and friendly service and superlative food will ensure that I will be back. I went there for Restaurant Week and was impressed that they did not skimp on the portion sizes or make us feel like second class citizens as one us ordered off the $38 'deal' menu. The entrees,we had the butter poached lobster and the fried chicken, were terrific and the cocktails were much better than they had to be --- impressive that they make their own cola for their version of a rum and coke, for example. Our server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and have us some expert recommendations.

Staff are attentive without being intrusive. Kitchen is competent and you will find many themes lovingly prepared a la Jean George's other dining rooms. Went for Restaurant Week, but got sidetracked by all the delicious offerings on their menu. Salmon sushi starter with light, crisp lemongrass sauce was my favorite, though everything was delicious (we also tried the calamari, & fried chicken and lobster mains The mint ice cream served with the chocolate mouse was exceptional. Molten chocolate cake also a great choice. Service was spot on and very attentive. Tables are a bit close to each other, so not the place for a romantic meal or private conversation, but that didn't bother us at all. Loved it - will be back!

This restaurant is located at the bottom of an unassuming apartment building which you might miss, but the food is fantastic and the service is great. We selected the crispy calamari and sweet pea soup as appetizers, mussels and the fried chicken as our main followed by the chocolate cake and sorbet for dessert (from their summer brunch menu). All the dishes were good but the crispy calamari was especially delightful and so were the mussels that came in a lovely Thai broth. Service was excellent too with the hostess quickly ushering us to our table when we came in and our waitress being very attentive and courteous. We will definitely come again.

We had the restaurant week dinner that had only two choices for each of 3 courses. Between us, we tried all the offerings. As it turned out one of the first course was excellent and the other much too skimpy and nothing special. Of the main courses, both were very good but one contained enough food for someone who was hungry and the second, though delicious was too small to satisfy the hunger for someone who is used to having a dinner that would sustain him through the night. Desserts were delicious though not unusual or special
