Tucked in front of a luxury West Village apartment building, Perry St. offers an intimate restaurant serving "formal American food". It has an extensive wine list, and service is top level. This is a good spot for a business dinner, a quiet, yet sophisticated romantic date, or a dinner deserved after a hard days work. Perry St. has a large bar that is typically fairly quiet. It also has one lounge styled table for drinks and small plates, great for 2-4 friends or colleagues wanting to share a drink. Over all an above decent, sophisticated, and quite formal place to eat.

It's tucked away in a non-touristy spot, with understated signage. The lighting is subdued (actually, a bit too low for our liking) and the decor signals sophistication. The service is friendly yet professional. The menu choices, the food, the presentation all tell you that there is real thinking going on behind the scene. Taken all together, this is what a superior New York restaurant should be.

Took a friend there for lunch recently. We had the 'Taste of Autumn' menu (3 course). The food was average. But $28.00 per person for a 3 course meal in an upscale setting, one could hardly complain. What I did like was that they offered $20.00 bottle of wine for lunch. We had the Malbec (Argentina) which was great. What I would like to comment about is the ambience and service. Being that I was seeing my friend after years, we wanted a quiet place where we could just talk and not be disturbed. And this was it. The servers were very attentive yet non-intrusive. And the white, chic yet not overdone interior was the perfect setting. Recommend for a quiet date (lunch time).

We come to NYC once a year for the marathon, and we choose one restaurant to celebrate. This year we chose Perry st and optes for the tasting menu with wine pairing. The wine was good. The food was dissapointing for a restaurant with the Jean-Georges name attached.

We have had many great evenings here. But this one was not a success. The one table was "the worst table in the restaurant that gets windblown as new guests enter" according the waitress. The food was overly spicy hot. And the service was poor. Disappointing at a place that is usually a neighborhood gem. And fix the outside!

This place is great for a small group or special date. It's the kind of place you might expect to see a celebrity and feels very modern. However, I planned a birthday brunch for a friend with a larger group and although all my friends were really impressed with the setting, menu and cocktail list, it's really not the place for such an event. While the staff seemed generally on top of things, we had to ask for service multiple times before getting things done and they seemed "put-out" by our requests. I get that a large group can be a pain so we didn't make a fuss but I wouldn't plan an event here again. That being said, the biggest food-hits were definitely the crabcakes and the steak tartar!

Dined at Perry Street Restaurant last Saturday lunch 10/18/2014 On arrival was greeted by a charming Maitre'D , a had a rink at the bar then was shown to our table! The service from our waiter was such a let down, I'm sorry if we interrupted your day Mister, we seemed to be such a bother and an inconvenience, it was a let down as the other staff were so accommodating, I was entertaining visitors from overseas. The food was well presented and delicious. Great wine list, I felt the Restaurant needed an upgrade…

I have only visited a one or two restaurants in my life that would compare with perry street. The waitstaff were all very relatable and attentive, they paid attention to our needs and didn't bother us when we didn't need anything. The ambiance was modern, with low lighting and simple. Very romantic. The food was world class. Every bite held a thought out array of flavors.

Food was not any better/calamari so sogy it looked like overcooked pasta /filet sea bass ok but presentation with 1 mushroom floret that would make a diner proud. Rabbit ok if you like fire {spicy not the word} in your mouth. And on and on. I should give it another try, but then again w/all that's out there, let's not and say we did..

Jean Georges never fails. We have visited most of his restaurants in NYC and Perry Street is no exception. The Prix Fixe lunch is a bargain in NYC. Yet at the bargain price, JG provides the best quality food, elegantly served with a service quality which is second to none. I am a foodie and rarely visit a restaurant twice unless it is exceptional. I will visit Perry street again and again and recommend to my friends. JG and team, congratulations for keeping me happy. Cheers to your culinary art and exceptional service.

Having brunch at Perry Street was an uplifting and wonderful dining experience. I had not been to the restaurant since it closed and reopened due to hurricane damage and realized how much I missed it! The service is welcoming, attentive and very gracious. The moment you enter Hilary, the Maitre d, adds a personal touch to your visit . The ambience is upbeat, bright and refreshing. We both had the prix fixe Autumn brunch menu. It was very well priced and all items were delicious and meticulously prepared. The cocktails were equally generous and great. I always feel that being at Perry Street is a unique Manhattan experience. It has a very NYC current vibe , but feels calming and lacks frenzy.

I took a group of 7 to this restaurant and had to meet farm-to-fork fans who are vegetarian, vegan, and carnivores. Delicious dining options were exquisitely presented and everyone was happy. The grilled octopus and the beet salads were delicious starters. Finishing with Chocolate mousse sounded boring but we were wrong. Staff helped select wines that went well with a variety of foods. The noise level was light so we could hear each other too.

We used to love to go here for sunday brunch but lately its just off. I think in order to keep the 28 dollar prix fix they have diminished the portion and quality of the food. Last week everything we ordered medium was almost raw. How do you send slow cooked salmon back? My tuna burger was still alive and the molton chocolate cake was like the Mississippi river. I hope they get it back together because its a really nice place with a great staff.
