A word from Perry St
Join us for NYC Restaurant Week 2014 starting July 21st through August 16th. We will be offering a $25 three-course lunch and $38 three-course dinner on Monday through Friday and on Sunday evenings during this period.

Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times.
Jean-Georges’ son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square.
Diner Reviews
  • "Perry Street offers delicious food presented beautifully. The staff is first rate -- knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant decor is modern and attractive."

  • "Perry Street has delivered once again for Restaurant Week. Although the selections were very limited (two) in each course, the cooking and combination of flavors dazzled the palate. I can't say enough about the calamari appetizer. What a superb concoction of crisp, creamy and savory flavors. The salmon was a pure delite and the berry cake dessert outstanding. I've been to dinner here before but not in a very long time and can't believe what I've been missing all this time. The regular lunch menu was very tempting as well with a prix fixe $36/three course menu. it was very nice that there were very reasonable bottles of wine ($20) to accompany the Restaurant Week lunch. Don't miss this place on your dining forays."

  • "I'm sold. Perry Street is excellent on all fronts - food, service, decor - superb quality at a reasonable price. Kudos to the chef and management. Great appetizers - burrata (with strawberries and almonds), lightly fried calamari with phenomenal dipping sauce; entrees - the fried chicken is to die for (great presentation, with creamed corn and light brown sauce for dipping); deserts - chocolate molten cake is just right with a perfectly warm center. Finally a New York restaurant that pleases the palate of a former New Orleanian. Will definitely be back."

  • "Perry St provided a wonderful dining experience. The food was great. The starters and amuse were stellar. The entrees were great, but it was hard to compete with the those first bites. The service was attentive without being stuffy. A beautiful space- big booths, nice lighting and comfortable modern decor - and a nice drink list. Would be a great place to take someone who is a bit of a foodie and will appreciate the attention to all the details."

  • "The calamari fried chicken combo with wine deal is perfection"

  • "I got there 10 minutes before the rest of my party and they told me they couldn't sit me but didn't even offer me to go to the bar or lounge to wait and had me standing there for the whole time. The food was really good but the salmon was a bit raw. I like it like that but they didn't even ask and it could have been very disgusting for some people."

  • "Top notch, from the moment our party walked in the door to the moment we left. All of the elements of the dining experience blended very well together. Everything about the restaurant is sleek, modern, and sexy, from the lighting to the lobster. Another winner from JG. We'll be back."

  • "Perry St is one of those restaurants where you go when you want it all, its sleek full of charm the servers are on point not overbearing and the food is delicious . This quiet neighborhood just adds to the feel of escaping the of-times tense New York dining seen"

  • "Although we had a hard time finding the place (Perry Street address but it's actually on the West Side Highway behind some construction) the meal was beyond amazing. It's hands down some of the best food I've come across in the city. I'm going to dream about the fried chicken and the molten lava cake. Highly recommend."

  • "Perry St has good food in a nice environment. The street is busy or you'd have a nice view of the Hudson, but the huge windows and table booths are very inviting. It wasn't busy when we went for lunch, just quiet and calm. Others at my table that didn't have to go back to work, said the cocktails were great, what you'd expect at a Jean-Georges restaurant."

  • "Managed to get a prime time reservation. Service and food were impeccable. Presentations were creative and the food had perfect balance of flavors. I will go back for sure. Just the room itself was a class act."

  • "Dear Richard: Have you ever heard of a product called 'accoustical ceiling'? It comes in many different forms and types, some of them can be used in a seamless installation. If you like haute cuisine with an edgy touch - and don't mind to shout to have a conversation with someone sitting across from you - this is the right place to go. Oh, and a state-of-the-art mechanical room in the basement might not be a good idea for any building along the Hudson River. Sandbags everywhere a year after Sandy? Com'on, Richard.....!"

  • "We're big Jean Georges people and we constantly go to all of his restaurants. We decided to move from ABC Kitchen to Perry Street for a weekend brunch, and we were sorely disappointed. The ambience is dated, and the place just looks very old and tired. On top of that, for weekend brunch, there were literally two tables in the entire restaurant, and they still felt the need to sit us a table that was so small we could barely move. Once we got past that, we ordered a pastry basket that came out with pastries that literally tasted as though they were a week old. The smoked salmon I ordered was completely dry, and it was evident that it wasn't fresh at all. My girlfriends eggs came out looking like gelatin. Not real eggs. Horrific experience."

  • "Ambiance was warm but not overly friendly. That is, you weren't interrupted unnecessarily. My friend was 30 minutes late and I chose not to have a drink while waiting and didn't feel the least bit judged. I had the pea soup which was presented nicely and didn't skimp on the cream - yum! And then my friend and I both had the lobster which was just perfect. I hesitate to try having lobster anywhere for near certain knowledge that it won't measure up! I hope to go back for another special occasion."

  • "Service was really quite bad and the tables near the bar made it impossible to have a conversation with four people at a square table"

  • "This is the second time I have been surprised by the fact that although they produce wonderful food in the kitchen, they never quite seem to get their acts together with the service. 3 examples. 1. As we sat down the bread plate had a not small item caked on it from the dishwasher. 2. Several times our wine glasses sat empty as I looked for someone to bring us the rest of the bottle. 3. At the end of the entree, the wait staff crumples up the paper place mats right at the table we while we are chatting. None of this is that bad, but it seems out of sync with the quality of the food which is very good."

  • "I can't say enough about Perry Street. The food was delicious and inventive. The service was impeccable. Best calamari app I've had. The black sea bass was perfecly cooked and accompanied by a hen of the wood mushroom that brought out even more flavor from the bass. I recommend the ginger margarita with a spice salted rim. Wow!"

  • "We tried Perry St. for the first time and were absolutely blown away by the food - one of the best meals we have had living in Manhattan for years. The fried calamari was especially memorable, but everything was delicious. Service was amazing as well. Strongly recommend for date night. Be aware that it is pricey, but worth it!"

  • "Jean-Georges does it again!! Stylish, comfortable restaurant with delicious, perfectly prepared comfort food that is not inexpensive but worth every penny. Other than a delay in getting our waiter's attention at the start of the meal, the evening was just right."

  • "Perry Street is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Beware - VERY spicy - and not so noted or advised. I like spicy, but it permeated every dish, which I thought a bit odd. We all loved the food, but those with mild food preferences will be quite surprised....."

  • "Had a family Sunday brunch there. We all ordered the 3-course set menu. I ordered the calamari fritti for appetizer. The batter was fluffy and crispy. The airy & foamy dipping sauce was such a delight. It had a hint of mint and lime, creamy but very light. I would rate it the best sauce for calamari fritti! The steak tartare ordered by other members of the party was seasoned to almost perfection. Slow-cooked Scottish salmon was well cooked to medium as ordered. The sauce was light and balanced with multi-dimensional flavors and a spicy chilli kick. The finishing desert was the delicious classic Chocolate Fondant cake with vanilla ice cream."

  • "We loved our meal at Perry Street in the glow of the late afternoon sun. From the burrata to the calamari to the butter poached lobster every morsel was deliciously drenched in layers of flavors. Our servers were friendly and attentive while providing helpful descriptions of many of the offerings. This is one of our family favorites for special occasions. Followed up with a walk along the High Line to digest...a perfect evening."

  • "A really delicious menu. The crusted tuna is outstanding. The egg & caviar dish is a bit too bland. It is definitely overpriced so I wouldn't eat there regularly. It is sadly REALLY empty for brunch, lunch and early dinner. It was fun & packed on a Friday evening though."

  • "From the setting, decor, service and menu, Perry St. always delivers. Best of all, they have a no attitude, friendly and accommodating staff. One of our top choices for any occasion or just a nice dinner together during the week."

  • "Tuna crust, snapper sashimi, lobster with lemongrass. Sounds Asian? It is western with touches of Asian cooking and perfumes. Good wine selection."

  • "i found the food at this restaurant to be better than Jean Georges and Nougatine. Please be advised the restaurant is under construction! So you are looking out into a construction zone. It's very pretty inside the restaurant though. The service was very good. The food was fresh and well prepared."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Still some construction going on all around outside due to Hurricane Sandy (a year later). Not easy to spot as it is in a more residential area and blends in with the condo building. Anyway, the fried chicken was indeed the best! We would go back."
