A word from Perry St
Join us for NYC Restaurant Week 2014 starting July 21st through August 16th. We will be offering a $25 three-course lunch and $38 three-course dinner on Monday through Friday and on Sunday evenings during this period.

Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times.
Jean-Georges’ son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square.

Diner Reviews
  • " real gem. Great food, ambience and service. Would definitely go back. Menu was interesting and well priced."

  • "Rarely do I leave a review but everything was great from start to finish!"

  • "The chocolate molten cake was to die for! Best thing on the menu. When I asked how do they do this, the waiver responded softly: "magic". Unfortunately the hake wasn't cooked 100% through, but that we overlooked that due to the fine quality of the food generally."

  • "The food was prepared very well taste and visual appeal wise. Service was great. Only downside/perk I had was the fact the restaurant did not have any cellular reception. Only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars overall"

  • "Calamari good. Salmon sashimi was with flavorfully spiced broth but salmon could have used touch of sea salt. Fried chicken not particuarly seasoned, breast meat dry!!! Rabbit was excellent. Molten chocolate cake, a cliche but excellent! Chef cooks with spiced Asian flair. Would go back. However they should not allow children below 5, as there was a screaming baby!!!!!! And I mean screaming!! Why parents have such a sense of entitlement is beyond me! You can afford to eat here? Then you can afford a babysitter. Get one! Or pay for everyone' s meal because you have ruined theirs. Management needs to exercise discretion because it ruins dining experience for others. ( yes I have a child too)."

  • "Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I've had in NYC! The crafted cocktails, professional and friendly service and superlative food will ensure that I will be back. I went there for Restaurant Week and was impressed that they did not skimp on the portion sizes or make us feel like second class citizens as one us ordered off the $38 'deal' menu. The entrees,we had the butter poached lobster and the fried chicken, were terrific and the cocktails were much better than they had to be --- impressive that they make their own cola for their version of a rum and coke, for example. Our server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and have us some expert recommendations."

  • "It is more out of politeness that I continue to rate the superb service and food at Perry Street. Consistent, delicious, imaginative in a wonderful setting with excellent wine value at lunch. Staff are attentive without being intrusive. Kitchen is competent and you will find many themes lovingly prepared a la Jean George's other dining rooms. We continue to enjoy the food, atmosphere and recommend the serenity of lunch to anyone in the neighborhood. You should try it, you most likely will love it too."

  • "Went for Restaurant Week, but got sidetracked by all the delicious offerings on their menu. Salmon sushi starter with light, crisp lemongrass sauce was my favorite, though everything was delicious (we also tried the calamari, & fried chicken and lobster mains The mint ice cream served with the chocolate mouse was exceptional. Molten chocolate cake also a great choice. Service was spot on and very attentive. Tables are a bit close to each other, so not the place for a romantic meal or private conversation, but that didn't bother us at all. Loved it - will be back!"

  • "really enjoyed all aspects of the restaurant. Everything was first class from the food to the service to the friendly and helpful staff"

  • "The food was amazing but the fried calamari was the best part. It was very different and 10x better than what I had at other restaurants!"
    Dined on 8/9/2014
  • "This restaurant is located at the bottom of an unassuming apartment building which you might miss, but the food is fantastic and the service is great. We selected the crispy calamari and sweet pea soup as appetizers, mussels and the fried chicken as our main followed by the chocolate cake and sorbet for dessert (from their summer brunch menu). All the dishes were good but the crispy calamari was especially delightful and so were the mussels that came in a lovely Thai broth. Service was excellent too with the hostess quickly ushering us to our table when we came in and our waitress being very attentive and courteous. We will definitely come again."

  • "The ambience was very clean and the food was great. Also, the cocktails were eclectic and tasted great."
    Dined on 8/8/2014
  • "Despite ongoing construction in the fancy building, the setting is elegant and very pleasing. Service was exceptional. Food was representative of the typically excellent Jean George experience - superbly flavored and beautifully presented. Nothing to disappoint here."

  • "We had the restaurant week dinner that had only two choices for each of 3 courses. Between us, we tried all the offerings. As it turned out one of the first course was excellent and the other much too skimpy and nothing special. Of the main courses, both were very good but one contained enough food for someone who was hungry and the second, though delicious was too small to satisfy the hunger for someone who is used to having a dinner that would sustain him through the night. Desserts were delicious though not unusual or special"

  • "Graciousness is the word for Perry Street, from the extremely charming hostess to the gentle servers who materialise behind you, to the way improbable combinations like salmon sashimi and ice cream manage to nit only work but excel. A lovely space and place."
    Dined on 8/8/2014
  • "Fried chicken is a must-try! I was there around 9 p.m. Thursday night, when the place was still somewhat crowded but by the time we finished eating, it was quiet, romantic."
    Dined on 8/7/2014
  • "The bread was stale, and the amuse bouche was a glaring, disagreeable strawberry gazpacho that was basically a vinegar blast with not much supporting character. While the yuzu broth for the salmon sashimi and the miso-glaze for the hake were both very good tasting, neither worked very well with their respective fish-ingredient. The broth/sauce overwhelmed the neither tender nor especially flavorful salmon. The sweet miso glaze was laid on the top of the thick ( not extremely fresh ) tranche of hake ... the "sauced" component of the fish was very sweet, contrasting, inauspiciously with the unglazed portions. The bread, too, was clearly not fresh ... a regrettable"

  • "I would eat here every day if I lived in one of the condos upstairs - a beautiful space, airy, light-filled and spacious. Supremely attentive service and wonderful food."

  • "Salmon Tartar, Hake and Chocolate Cake all delicious and beautifully presented. Special price for selected wines by the glass-great value. Service was fabulous and the restaurant was refined."

  • "Went for Restaurant Week lunch and it was excellent, food, service and ambience. The Restaurant Week menu was not the usual small portions or less than top notch food but it was really excellent value. There was also a nice bottle of wine at a very reasonable price to go with the meal. The restaurant is to be congratulated on delivering great value and food. It might be a little out of the way, but worth the diversion."

  • "Beautiful WV restaurant with great ambiance, food and cocktail menu"

  • "I am a bit disappointed by my recent experience at Perry St. We had ordered the restaurant week menu. The entire meal was served over the course of 50 minutes. The "amuse bouche" were served as the appetizers were coming in. The rest of meal was rushed to on our table in a similar fashion - casting some doubts on how/when the food was prepared. Also I should mention that you should not be too keen on having bread with your meal, which was eaten with the appetizer; the bread plate remaining helplessly empty for the rest of the meal. Further, the portion served with the restaurant week menu are small - which is inconsistent with similar restaurants in the neighborhood and maybe also the spirit of restaurant week. "Dommage!""

  • "Perry Street Restaurant Week menu was quite limited. But the food was worth the schlepp over to the West Side. Appetizers of beet salad or sashimi type plate were great, and the 2 entrees were also superb. The hake was a tiny portion, but every bite was perfect. The fried chicken was more ample, spicy, moist and delicious. Desserts were also wonderful, a rich, molten chocolate cake or a light fresh berry dish, perfect for the summer. We were all quite thrilled. Our bottle of wine was not cheap, but it was quite nice. My one criticism was the sparse wine list. They need more choices at a greater diversity of prices."

  • "Good dishes, service needs refining, yet outstanding location and gorgeous room and bar."
    Dined on 8/4/2014
  • "Exquisite and simple decor. Unfortunately, at the time I was there, there was construction being done on the outside, so it was hard to recognize it as a restaurant. The dishes were appropriate portions for a single serving of food, unlike other places where they make you feel guilty for not being able to gorge a mountain of their cuisine. The dishes are creative twists on foods you already know and love. My salmon was a little undercooked for my preference, but it may have been my fault while ordering (since I am usually not asked how I want my fish prepared). My husband was a little underwhelmed with his fried chicken, but I thought it was quite tasty. Servers are the best I've ever had. Overall, great meal and experience!"

  • "Starting with the service, everything was on the dot! The food was exquisite -I would highlight the steak tartar and the peach salad- but the brioche sponge cake for dessert was the best part!"

  • "charge more than 25$ for Sunday*s lunch, they charge 28$ per person, but in the New York Restaurant week website says $25 for Sunday*s lunch. Also, the outside around was in construction, not very satisfied."

  • "restaurant week at this restaurant is a real pass...the selection is not good and they changed all the that items that go together to the cheapest combinations possible....the wine list is a disgrace....very very small selection and very expensive for what it is...have been there several times before and loved it...this was my last time...."

  • "Spacious so great for groups. Food from the prix-fixe menu of restaurant week isn't bad, they had two options. My bf & I picked one of each. Both were delicious, from appetizers to dessert. A lil too far off a walk since it's off West Side Highway but I guess I could use a lil walk after eating :)"

  • "I arrived there 20 min later than reservation time, while my friend has arrived in time. But they cancelled my reservation and told me that I was required to leave there in an hour due to cancellation caused by my half-hour late. It was a dinner we're looking forward to. Why they need to cancel it while my friend has already arrived there? I'm really disappointed. Never return. Never recommend."

  • "My husband and I went to Perry St for lunch during restaurant week, and we will be back as soon as possible. The food was outstanding, the service wonderful, and the ambiance was amazing. It has officially become my husband's favorite restaurant in the city. We'll be taking all of our friends and family back as soon as we can!"

  • "OMG! We had the Restaurant Week menu which was $38 prix fixe. The salmon and chicken were excellent. Every course was a surprise made from common foods. Would love to go back!"

  • "I have never eaten at Perry St. before so I had no expectations. The food was so beautifully and lovingly prepared, not to mention delicious. The calamari appetizer was the most tender I've ever tasted, and I've tasted a lot. The sesame dipping sauce was wonderful. The fried chicken was a slight disappointment, however; very pedestrian flavor. The molten chocolate cake and ice cream was superb. Overall, it was perhaps the most enjoyable Restaurant Week meal I have experienced. Can't wait to go back."
