Perla's Seafood and Oyster BarMy new favorite restaurant. It has it all - great food, service and wonderful location. Highly recommended.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFIrst TimeMade reservations..they were ready when we arrived. We had an option to sit outside...we did within 15 minutes. Dined on a Wednesday. They were out of grouper so I had an alternative fish that was just as good. A little pricey, but not too bad. Food was good. Oysters were perfect.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat trout!Delicious and creative use of ingredients for the trout. Subtle fennel flavor and the poached egg was beautiful and perfect.
The lobster stock grits are always amazing!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as alwaysWe've been fans of Perla's since it opened and it never disappoints. Staff is well-trained and knowledgeable and will offer an educated opinion (on which of the rose wines was the driest or which vegetable side was the tastiest, for example). The oysters were fresh and delicious and the Brussels sprouts are the best around. We will definitely be back - soon!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMperfect everytimeReally good food, service, and atmosphere! We arrived with a large group of 8 +1 baby. We made reservations in advance and were given a table near the kitchen. We came to Perla's because we had seen it on Anthony Bourdain's 'No Reservations.' We are from Oregon and love oysters. The server suggested we get two dozen oysters and he would hand pick them for us according to what was good that day. We agreed. The oysters were delicious! Loved the vinegar, cocktail sauce, and horse radish. I've never had oysters with horse radish before. It was a nice touch! We only ordered appetizers, but everything we ordered was tasty. The calimari had an amazing crust and tasted quite fresh. The tuna salad was seasoned well. My only issue would be price.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI personally do not eat seafood,I personally do not eat seafood, but the remainder of my party did. They said the oysters were fantastic, and the entrees were good also. The dessert was my favorite part, I got the salted butterscotch pot de creme. Our server was a little hard to track down at times, but overall did a good job.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSplendidWhat a great place for a nice date. Everything from the appetizer to dessert is fantastic! Their signature drinks are also really tasty. There is a great patio to sit on and the service was outstanding. All the fish are flown in fresh each day and the menu changes accordingly.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, amazing food.Great service, amazing food. A great outdoor dining area that I would recommend for anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy good food and drinks.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Perla's severalI've been to Perla's several times but this was a first during SXSW. I have never seen Perla's that busy but they had our table waiting for us upon on our arrival, our waiter was attentive and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the oysters and BBQ shrimp.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent wait staff. GoodExcellent wait staff. Good beer selection for those who beer connoisseurs. Typical Austin find.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh seafood in Austin? Yup!Went there for brunch - fantastic fresh seafood. Shrimp cocktail and fried oysters to start - fresh shrimp with a nice spicy cocktail sauce and a nice heaping pile of fresh fried oysters with a remoulade dipping sauce - perfectly crunchy on the outside and briny on the inside. Entrees: brioche French toast and the lobster roll. The brioche French toast was fantastic - a large golden brown brick of a piece piled on top of a mound of fresh berries with maple syrup and a scoop of coconut sorbet - decadent, but really delicious! The lobster roll was something a New Englander would be proud of calling their own - large chunks of fresh lobster meat with a whole claw sitting on top, with a nice, fresh brioche bun. Friendly service, too!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen here every trip to AustinBeen here every trip to Austin and never a let down! Brussel SProuts, Oysters, CLams in Ale, all great~!2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat diningFabulous food--especially liked the crispy snapper with spinach for entree. Crab remoulade was excellent as an appetizer. However, Wood Grilled oysters were overcooked and not my favorite.2/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
