I had reserved a table inside for relatives & friends from out of town meeting for lunch. After we arrived, we decided it was such a lovely day that we switched to outside on the deck. The atmosphere & food were equally wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant & it's sister location, Clark's Seafood & Oyster Bar.

The food was delicious. We found the oysters a little small (PEI) but they were tasty. The service was quick, friendly and great. The ambience was nice, a little dark my taste but people enjoy that romantic lighting. The waiter Andrew was great at answering questions, recommending food. He suggested the Butterscotch Pot de Creme and gave a complimentary birthday one. It was delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The portions were small for TX standards but the food was cooked wonderfully. We ate the seared scallops, halibut, PEI oysters, chowder, and sea bass and we shared wood grilled sprouts.

We dined at 6:30 PM - FRIDAY. Had 2-week advance reservations and still was given a inside table facing a wall. This is a very expensive restaurant, yet we would rate the food as 3-1/2 Stars. Has large Shrimp cocktail to start, but the crackers were stale. After I mentioned it quietly to the waitress, she came back & augured that they were not stake. NOT COOL. Would never go back.

With my 2years old seated at the patio i have been harassed by a disturbed homeless asking and asking for money. He did not took a no for answer and would not go. I didn't had cash so I had to agree to buy him something so he stopped telling stories and playing with my child. Noone came to help. Even after going to the hosts to ask for the check to be able to leave it took you several minutes while this guy kept getting closer muttering non stop. My server was very nice at all times, the 3 hosts standing at the door when I asked for help to be able to pay and leave the place could had at least asked if I needed something besides the check to pay for our whole lunch and this guy´s! unbelievable!!

Perlas is fun. The seafood is top notch. And they claim it is sustainably caught. One of our group who loves oysters had them for her appetizer and her entree and was very happy. It's in an eclectic South Austin neighborhood which added to the fun.

Went to perlas based on a friend's rec and we were not disappointed. We wanted to dig outside so we waited at the bar and enjoyed some excellent cocktails recommended by the bartender. When we got seated our server was really helpful and friendly. We got the ceviche which was delicious and the sun choke & potato soup - yum! I got the halibut and my husband got the escarole - not big portions but ghe perfect amount of food. Very flavorful and fresh. Great lively scene - can't wait to come back! One of the best meals I've had in a long time!

This place was perfect for our night out in Austin. Traffic and parking is a little inconvenient but once you walk thru the door that is all forgotten. The ambiance, food, drinks, and service were stellar. We made reservations which is probably a must if you dont want to wait an hour. They have a more formal dining room inside, seating in a cool screened in area, and then typical outdoor seating. Their menu was creative, service quick, food was flavorful and good portions. We had a great time and would definitely visit again.

This is actually one of my new favorites in Austin. The food is good. The Octopus is unbelievable. Last time I was there on a Tuesday they were out of a lot of the fish but that might actually be an indicator that they are doing things properly. They order fresh and sometimes you run out. It's actually much better than serving old food.

The food was amazing I had the halibut and risotto my date had the marlin. Everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had pana cotta with peaches very rich and creamy. My only complaint would be our server. She did not take my dates drink order until long after mine had arrived and then forgot it until the end of the meal. During the ordering process she was very attentive to me but completely ignored my date.

Food was amazing and oysters were great. The halibut comes recommended but was slightly dry. Was there celebrating my birthday with my wife, brother and his sister in-law and it honestly seemed like the server could care less. She was timely, although water did need to be refilled by request, but did not seem too interested in helping us celebrate with a hospitable disposition. Would probably go back, but have definitely had more welcoming dining experiences.

With a group of 4 women who arrived at different times, and couldn't stop talking long enough to study the menu etc. the staff was very patient, and accommodating. We had not seen each other in a very long time, so we had a lot to talk about. It was great to have the back area available to be seated so that the noise level was acceptable. Being in our 70's it is important to be able to be heard. And one of us has a back problem, so the padded banquettes are a definite plus when choosing a restaurant. Your food is always very good. And not the same old, same old.

I took my grandmother here for her 75th birthday brunch. Our reservations were accommodated even though we were running a few minutes late, and the staff was very friendly. Our server did the best she could, but it was obvious she had more tables than hands and not a single support person to help her with orders, drinks, refills, and to follow up to see how we were liking our food. When you shell out over $100 for brunch the food had better be good! We were never even asked. I finished only about 1/4 of my meal and the rest went in the trash. We didn't have silverware, and didn't have salt, pepper, or any other seasonings available to try and detract from the TERRIBLE taste! Drinks were also lackluster at best. We won't be back.

Food was adequate and very over priced. I'm a New Yorker and found the portion size of a piece of fish (the size of a dollar bill folded in half) at $32.00 (with noting else on the plate) simply ridiculous. My dining companion had not finished eating when the server/busboy took her utensils. As servers wished back and forth through the dining room, not one stopped to ask if new utensils were needed. Oh, and I almost broke my tooth on a pit in the cherry pie (which they did comp). I will say they are quick to replenish an iced tea! Perla's is just not worth it.

Perla's was spot on at our last visit. I inadvertently ordered the gazpacho which came absolutely loaded with crab (and so stated in the menu but overlooked) and I have a shellfish allergy. My server offered to replace it but I was persuaded to swap with my guest who inhaled my gazpacho while I enjoyed the beet salad he had ordered. The meal continued to be excellent with great pacing through to dessert. The drinks were refreshing and innovative. We will return.

We started with really fresh raw oysters from different parts of the country....briny and just the right size! For our entree, we had the oak grilled Texas Gulf Redfish on the halfshell (cooked perfectly), our sides that we shared were the lobster, cheese and green onion grits (with tender pieces of lobster in it); brussel sprouts that were crispy on the outside and lemony (delish). All of the food was served nice and hot (a definite MUST for us!) Our server, Molly, was very professional and friendly. Will definitely be going back!
