It is nice to be able to get dressed and not have to worry about kids or someone with flip-flops at the next table. Excellent service. Excellent ambiance. Great for foodies. I found the menu difficult to figure out without a culinary degree.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMagical!I was afraid the restaurant might be a bit cheesy since it is shaped like a clamshell and is on the beach. But it was fantastic! The food was the best we had in Puerto Rico. I had the lobster and steak and my husband had the lobster for main courses. I had the tuna tartare for appetizer which was delicious. But the shrimp appetizer my husband had was incredible.
The service was excellent. The clam shell effect once inside the restaurant was simply magical. Very elegant and not cheesy or touristy at all!
Overall a very memorable dining experience. It was a bit pricey but no complaints on quality of good, service or ambience.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tasting menuWent for special celebration. Had five course tasting menu with wine pairing which was exquisite. Chef came to greet us making this a special night. Enjoyed hotel amenities afterwards. Great choice if you can afford it.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff remembered my commentThe staff remembered my comment note on my open table reservation & brought my parents out a beautiful dessert to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I found that very impressive. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu items and how they are prepared. Food was delicious, the restaurant is beautiful and the wait staff so polite while providing exceptional service. Just an overall wonderful dining experience.

Everything is amazing - the atmosphere, food, scenery, wait staff and drinks. Sitting inside a large conch shell is spectacular. The food presentation is exquisite and delicious. You don't feel rushed. We were guests at La Concha. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we walked out, the staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was beautiful but very comfortable, and the view of the Ocean was spectacular. We're visiting from NYC and we love dining out. I was afraid at first that the "conch" shell restaurant was going to be a little kitchy, however it was the opposite. The staff was friendly and beyond knowledgable about the food. We had an amazing bottle of Prosecco paired with our dinner. At the end they brought out a special birthday dessert where they spelled out not only "Happy Birthday" but also my first name. The personal touch was very thoughtful!
The Trout Chowder is not to be missed! I had booked the reservation a couple of months early, and so I had requested a table on the perimeter of the restaurant looking at the ocean and reflecting pool on which the restaurant seems to float. We had one of those perimeter tables, and I highly recommend asking for those. The food was fantastic -- great flavors, well-prepared, much attention to detail. The service was impeccable -- not fussy, but just enough attention. The servings, especially of the entrees, were ample. The appetizers and desserts were not very large, but the meal as a whole was complete and very satisfying.
