The space is a narrow "railroad" style, and while there is a decent gap between tables it can still feel somewhat less than intimate. The food is excellent coupled by great service and knowledgable servers. One thing I want to call out is that it is a vegetarian friendly restaurant (my wife is vegetarian). Not only is there always a vegetarian entree but it is an entree thats changes seasonally and is creative iin its own right - in this case I enjoyed the tasting of asparagus just a much as the mahi special I ordered. This village gem is outstanding. It isn't as formal or complex as the others but the food is inventive, perfectly prepared and sparkles with freshness. We were late for our reso - about 25-30mins to be exact - but even with the restuarant half empty at 7pm, apparently they had to give our original table away and had to be re-seated. Curious.

With the three meals including appetizers and desserts, there was not a miss. Our waitress was attentive without interrupting. The decor is understated but elegant. Of note however, the noise level was quiet to moderate when we arrived for our 7PM reservation. By the time we left at 9:30PM it was deafening. We had our 6 year old son with us and we all had a great time. I should note that our son does not usually eat off of a kid's menu. He had the roasted chicken, which was excellent and would satisfy both foodies and picky eaters alike. My wife had the duck and loved it and I had the special, which was a pork chop recommended by the waiter. The hanger steak was ordered medium and came back very rare. It had to be sent back, and we waited another 8ish minutes.

We shared each others' selections at each course, and with one exception, liked them all. The duck meatballs stand out, and the pork belly and Arctic char were great. Desserts were terrific. One drawback: the scallops ceviche, served in a very tiny portion, could have been more flavorful, and the texture was off. This understated and neighborhood-friendly restaurant is all about the food, and the fine service is also respectful of the meal.
