Perch LABon jour oo la laGreat atmosphere for a special occasion. Gets crowded so make sure to make a reservation!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPerch LAI really enjoyed my dinning experience at Perch LA, food and drinks were amazing. Opentable made the transaction of getting a table so much easier.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't beat the rooftop viewOverall the place has a great view, good food, quick and friendly service, and decent prices. It is a bit on the higher side in terms of pricing, but it's well spent considering how nice the place looks and the general ambiance. If you have a special date, lunch, or meeting and you'd like to go for something a little bit classier then you can't go wrong with the perch. Parking is convenient too, though you can also take the metro red-line which is just less than a block away.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experienceRoof top brunch at its best. Great food with an amazing view of downtown LA. Service was great as well.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience!Breathtaking views, food was incredible. It was almost a perfect dining experience. Only slight critique is that the hostess did not have our OpenTable reservation (had to dig through some other system to find it) and had no record of our request for a specific table for the special occasion we were celebrating. Since this was a major milestone birthday celebration, I was a little disappointed that the staff didn't do anything to recognize our birthday guest. No comp dessert, candle, or any special little something, which would have been nice gesture, especially after such a pricey (but certainly high quality) meal. But with that little detail aside, it was a wonderful experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMgmt, pony up and hire more peopleWe had reservations for 8:15 and luckily there wasn't a line or wait for our table. We were given an option of seating outside or in and we scored a table outside next to the window. The ambiance, cocktails and food were fabulous. The service as many people have noted was, "mneh". My wine came out promptly to our table after I ordered it. However, after we weren't ready to order after beginning to enjoy our appetizer and cocktails, everything was well finished before we were able to order our entree. But let me say that it seemed to appear that the servers were just spread too thin as opposed to not being good at their job. Our server was friendly and clearly was trying without seeming stressed.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMrooftop beautywarm and great vibes mixed with delicious food and a luminous ambiance. Fine dining, a bit pricey, but with nice down to earth staff. The location itself is worth the visit. The mixture of the elevation/view, good drinks, and good music makes for a great lounge feel. The music really fit the location. It was groovy, mellow, and jazzy. Great for groups and a romantic dinner. My personal favorite was the pork belly appetizer, it just melts in your mouth. the only negative I would say is that the portions are a bit small and unfilling. The taste buds will definitely not have anything to complain about though. Will definitely be returning.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOVERALL AWESOMEFrom the service to the appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks..... everything was GREAT. The service was absolutely EXCELLENT...it's what you hope for anytime you dine out! Very attentive waiters & waitresses. Their suggestions were a HIT!
Will definitely go again.
Thank you Perch!!!!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodCame to Perch for dinner after having experienced the rooftop bar. The food surprised me in that is was excellent (braised pork with creamy polenta)! Service was great and the waitress tried to work with us in regards to our vegetarian friends whose menu selection was very limited. Gnocchi or salad? that's not enough. But we were told that the kitchen is willing to customize existing dishes so it worked out well.
On a Tuesday night is was fairly packed with a live band which combined made for a very loud environment that was not ideal for a conversation. Yet the location & views were great and everyone had a good time.
Once the restaurant emptied out and the band stopped playing it became more comfortable. Despite this, I highly recommend.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFit for brunch with a dignitaryThe Ambassador and I were seated in an ideal location, catering to my needs to be at a quiet place with a view. As this was a private occasion, I only specified this at reservation, but were treated such, as were all the guests around us. The view was great, the overcast made it perfect to be outside at 11:00 am. and the historic building impressed my guest. Ambience really counts for great conversation. The French toast was delicious. The oysters were fine, but I did not pair them with Bloddy Mary, either.
I realized later, that there was a band playing at a different corner - we really were at a quiet spot with a view. Everything was so subtle and beautiful.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAhhh-mazing!My husband and I were visiting from the east coast and I had chosen Perch for Sunday brunch based on all of the positive reviews I had read (on open table and other online articles). We were not disappointed - with the views or the food! We ordered the truffle cheese fries and baked brie to start, then split the french toast and #13 eggs benedict. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the truffle cheese fries and the french toast were argueably some of the best food bites ever!!! (and this was not our first rodeo at a top restaurant). They make thier french toast with crissonts, which might explain why they tasted so good....I am going to try to recreate back home! A must try!!!!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMromantic nightGood for dating place. Also food quality is outstanding.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved itGreat birthday dinner. There was live music Saturday night, too, which was a nice treat.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPerch certainly delivered! We were looking for a rooftop restaurant and stumbled across Perch in our searches. Soup to nuts, we were impressed... The elevator ride up to the restaurant set the mood and gave us a sense of being part of an elite dining experience. We shared an order of truffle poutine as an appetizer (incredible!); we then moved to the herb crusted salmon and pan roasted chicken. Both entrees were delicious, perfectly seasoned, and tender. We will certainly be back!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA Downtown GemWELL worth a visit for a special occasion, the views and food and live music are AMAZING! Make sure you get there for sunset... Love the secret lift entrances up, you would never guess it was there.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect!Took my boyfriend here for his birthday! The views were spectacular, food was scrumptious, drinks were tasty, and my boyfriend knew the musicians who were playing that night. It was pricey, but rightly so considering the quality of the entire night. Thanks!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Octopus everWe met friends, who had not been there before and were happy they loved the place as much as we did.
We had excellent service, ordered a bottle of champagne at a very reasonable price and enjoyed a meal of appetizers.
The most outstanding one among excellent choices was the Octopus. All four of us agreed it was the best we ever had and all of us will be back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Views Excellent FoodAfter living in the San Fernando Valley the past several years it was a treat to be downtown on top of a building with fantastic live music, wonderful food, excellent service, and good friends!! We were all very happy with everything from beginning to end. The octopus appetizer was absolutely to die for!!
We will definitely be back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing ViewsBeen there twice for brunch - The French Toast is special and delicious - Great place for out of town guests with the spectacular views of Downtown LA - Can't wait to go back!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat to get outGreat place to get out and see the city from up above. I liked how the atmosphere was pleasant and how nice the people were.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely eveningFirst time at Perch. The food was good. The service was impeccable. Beautiful view. The downstairs bar adjacent to the outdoor restaurant was kind of crazy-loud but the outdoor seating area was much quieter. I would recommend the upstairs bar for a warm summer evening. Great downtown building and location.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat EverythingGreat ambience, food, service, and view! Wow! A must go to Gem when in LA!!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch spot! The perfect spot on a sunny afternoon to listen to live music. The truffle French fries are rediculous!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch!I've heard Perch is a great place to go for drinks and a night scene, but I went for Brunch on a Saturday. It was great! The staff was nice, friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. You can't beat sitting under beautiful flowers on a warm LA saturday really! Highly Recommend!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSaturday BrunchCelebrated my birthday with a delicious brunch at Perch. Heard about it when a friend posted a picture of the restaurant on Facebook and wanted to try it ever since. The experience exceeded my expectations. Extremely polite hostess, waitress was fabulous, got refills on our coffees without even asking. I got the smoked salmon benedict and was trying so hard not to eat it too fast. It was perfect. I love rooftop restaurants and was so glad that this one is right in my neighborhood. With definitely come here again. Already made plans to take my sister when she visits from New York City.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful viewsWe took my mother there for Mother's Day and it was great. Beautiful views of downtown LA, parking across the street, amazing food. Even though we made reservations we still had to wait for a table, but the food was worth it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy CamperPerch was a great first date location with the food, service and view all tops. I left a very happy customer and look forward to going back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHip LA placeCool place with good food and music. The host was great but the waitress forgot about us. We waited over 30 minutes for a dessert menu that another waiter finally brought us and then another 30 minutes to see our waitress at which time we had to go so skipped dessert. Also, be careful about not sitting outside in the smoking section. We had a nice table but had to move as we were soon surrounded by smokers.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove itMy experience here is very good, i'll definetly suggest this to my friends and relatives. It's a bit pricey although beautiful ambiance. i'm pretty sure you'll love this place for a romantic, family group or girls out. Good place to hang-out and chill.
Thank you perch.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGorgeous view, worth the rudenessMy fiance and I went to the Perch last weekend for dessert and coffee. I made reservations two weeks in advance, so we were able to get a two-person table outside (where the views are extraordinary!). The bar scene makes the inside of the restaurant too loud to be enjoyable, but if you can snag a table on the patio, it's definitely worth it! Our waitress was great, but our hostess was horrid. We arrived slightly late, due to the rather difficult parking situation. Our aloof, hipster hostess somehow managed to make not one but two sarcastic comments in less than a minute. Fortunately, we didn't need to interact with her after we were seated, but it was enough to leave a pretty bad first impression.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful eclectic atmospherewonderful eclectic atmosphere - feels like a french parlor. great change from other trendy scenes. nice menu and drinks list. outside dining great when weather nice - will definiitely return5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMStatt have to pick up the paceEverything was great just it took a while for the hostess to show up. She was missing for 5 mins ....so I just went to the bar.....5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinner :)I booked a reservation on my birthday and when i got there I two extra people which they were able to accomodate without an issue. I ended up being seated net to the band but a heat lamp with an awesome view of downtown la . It was great ! Service was fast and the food was delicious . My steak was cooked perfectly ! ( big plus for me I'm quite picky) I would send come again for a special occasion because honestly it's more than my budget but nonetheless AMAZING!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING!!Had the great joy of treating my dear friend to dinner for her birthday and choose PERCH based on a recommendation from a trusted friend. I live and work downtown LA and was surprised I'd yet not been there.
What a magical place! The house red wine was excellent and we choose three different entrees to share which turned out to the be the perfect choice -- sea bass, mushroom risotto and the brussel sprouts. Perfect combination. The delectable vanilla bread pudding (complete with candle) was exquisitely yummy and worth every single calorie.
Mostly, the ambience was so beautiful. Felt like I was in Europe but the view was the skyline of downtown LA & it was truly breathtaking. We sat at a duce in the covered patio which was perfect!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and yummy Saturday BrunchPerch is a great option for a fun Saturday brunch in Downtown LA. Spectacular views of the Pershing Square area, attentive service without being intrusive and the bonus of a chanteuse and band to lend a nice cosmopolitan atmosphere. Drinks were good (best is the French Maid; Mon Petite Cheri is too strong and a bit one-note - maybe some citrus to give it some brightness). The truffle cheese fries are delicious with the herbed aioli though a bit rich - definitely add a salad. The brunch dishes were uniformly very good (smoked salmon benedict, #13 benedict and the perch burger). Coffee and capuccino were good. But overall, a fun way to start a weekend in LA.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun downtown spotPerch is one of those fun places that reminds me of old town New York or Chicago, which is somewhat refreshing sometimes in LA. The ambience and view is wonderful. The service is always great. I've gone for both brunch and for dinner, and both were good. The scrambled eggs and pancakes at brunch were perfect. My only complaints were that the desert after dinner was lacking. I had the bread pudding and found it WAY overheated last time and I could hardly eat it. I also wish the staff wasn't so quick to take away our glasses and plates. Even if there's only a little bit of champagne left, I'd like that last little bit! All in all though, Perch has quickly become one of my favorite LA spots and I look forward to the next time.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMbrunch at perchwe had a brunch there during out vacation and had a very good time on ths rooftop dining plave with view over LA! I can imagine that rhe place is also very cool in the evening! I would revomnend it!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around good but a littleAll around good but a little pricey for what you get.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe unique view of DowntownThe unique view of Downtown LA and the classy atmosphere make Perch a must-do. The cocktails are also rather notable in both flavor and potency. Still, the service was a bit slow, and the food was good, but not great, and certainly not unique.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place with great friendlyGreat place with great friendly service. The manager took great care to notice when other guests, who were waiting for a table, sat down with our party because we had some empty seats. He took them aside and asked them to move. We didn't have to ask or talk to the manager, he was awesome!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGirls Night OutFinally had a chance to catch up with the girls... We had caesar salad, steak frites, gnocchi... All of the dishes were great & it was packed at 10pm on a Thursday...4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Perch a numberI've been to Perch a number of times since it opened and the food is getting better and better. When it opened the food was ok... I kept going back on occasion because of the amazing space. Each time the food gets better, and the last meal was really solid. Excellent. Kudos for them for trying and not resting on the laurels of the space, which is incredible.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMbeautiful rooftop dining experiencebeautiful rooftop dining experience. great service, friendly and attentive. food was delicious, especially the octopus salad and the mussels. outside was quieter better for conversation, inside is more lively, but seemed fun if you were looking for that kind of an evening. space is beautifully remodeled, in keeping with the period of the building. was an excellent dinner. definitely recommend.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMCool little spotGreat experience for first time there. Took a girl there for a first date, and the atmosphere was perfect. Spectacular views, good food, and great service. After dinner we went up the the 16th floor for an after dinner drink, and was able to get some good pictures of the city lights. Overall had a great experience, and would def go back again.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique LA ExperienceWe have been to Perch many times for dinner and have enjoyed the experience. The view is spectacular and I love the live music.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPerch is a great date nightPerch is a great date night restaurant. The food was great and the staff are attentive. The view of downtown is amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHad reservation through openHad reservation through open table and the hostess tried tomsit us right near entrance in seating which was not appropriate for eating dinner. When we asked to be relocated she did so. Wonder why we weren't seated at a table in the first place- so specify.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! Food was great,Wonderful! Food was great, loved the view and Jesse Palter was EXCELLENT! Would come just to see her! Thank you!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful specialWe had a wonderful special occasion dinner at Perch, looking very much forward to returning!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDowntown LA Room with A ViewI've been going to Perch since it first opened and watched the menu evolve and the restaurant build up additional spaces above and below the main restaurant. Specialty cocktails are yummy and any wine by the glass I have tried has been stellar. Week nights are my favorite since Friday & Saturday nights mean a wait to get in if you don't have a reservation and just a super busy vibe that would be good for some people, just not my thing, I leave that to the 20-somethings. Food is tasty, French bistro fare. Happy Hour is ridiculously awesome. Sitting outside with an inexpensive glass of tasty wine, looking out over the city and watching the sunset.... It's such a special, unique place.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
