  • "We had a reservation and our table wasn't ready so it took over 20 min for us to sit. It is a busy place but the wait was well worh it. Food was delicious ambiance was great...maybe a little loud but nice. We'll be back"

  • "Always great time here; usually mid-day on weekends or day off. Tasty brunch menu. Last year bartenders handled classic cocktails no problem. Asked for a "Corpse Reviver" last weekend (12Apr14), they had to look it up online (an "app"?), but came out just fine, although took a while. A bit pricey, but can't be the locale. Other places near (Varnish, both MOCAs, Edison and so on) all walk or MTA. (Red/Purple line station just across street in Pershing Sq., 5.00 all day, all lines plus buses). Also can get here from/go to Culver City (soon StaMonica as well) on MTA "Expo Line" via switch to Red Line at 7th St. metro. And, for now there's parking in lot across Hill St., 6.00 all day on weekend, seemed to be attended most of time."

  • "I've been here before and the food quality has definitely dropped. Service and ambience is still a wow factor here as well as the creative cocktails but the ownership and management must remember that food cost should never gamble quality and flavor "

  • "Our Saturday brunch was very disappointing; the food was quite average, including the fondly remembered bread basket, and the service was inattentive, at best - friend had to ask three times for a coffee refill. I had very good memories form a brunch at Perch several months ago, but no part of our experience resembled our last visit."

  • "We went there with a couple of friends to have a drink on a LA downtown rooftop. We ended up eating there, so we could see the skyline by day and by night. The view is awesome, and the food is also really good. It's not as pricey as other rooftops. Only drawback: it can get quite chilly at night, especially if you cannot be close to a heater. So bring a sweater just in case."

  • "This was my second time at Perch and, although the service was less exemplary, it was still a wonderful time. The view is always the best part of the experience and helps elevate it above so many other places. It took 5 minutes before my waitress acknowledged me (even though she passed my table several times to wait on the others around me) and also disappeared at the end of the meal but when she did talk to me she was excellent. The food runners were kind but not great on follow through (I'm still waiting on that hot sauce I requested). All that said the food is good, the ambiance is lovely and the view is what you're really paying for which makes it all worth it."

  • "Even with a reservation and arriving early, the host made us wait 25 additional minutes for our table. When I asked the host how long our table would be, she asked for my name twice! Then I asked how she would know when our table was ready if she couldn't remember me? Once we were at our table, we waited another 20 minutes for the waitress and had to ask someone to find who our waiter was. Overall, it took us over an hour to order our food and did not appreciate the service. The food and view was great but I was surprised at how long we waited. While others came and sat at their tables, they made us wait as if we didn't have a reservation. I will reconsider returning to Perch for these reasons."

  • "EVERYONE AT PERCH IS SOOO AWESOME. THEY ALWAYS TREAT US LIKE KINGS AND QUEENS. VOTED NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK."

  • "I absolutely love Perch. The food is great, the drinks are great and the view is great! I've been here a few times on a weeknight and have always been able to reserve a seat on the balcony. The vibe is so relaxed and classy. I've heard it gets pretty packed on the weekend though. This place is expensive, but worth it in my opinion."

  • "it took at least 12 minutes for someone to take our drink order and only after I complained to the hostess. It then took another 10 plus minutes for the drinks to arrive. Having said that the food service was good."

  • "We arrived at Perch for a 6pm dinner on Saturday and it felt like more like a crowded club/bar than a french bistro. To be fair, it had been open since 11am that morning. When leaving, a few heavy drinkers found it funny to jump up and down in a crowded elevator. For a quiet meal, maybe early on a week night is a lot better. The decor, view, french music, and wait staff were really nice, but it was simply too slammed, the silverware too stained, the food too mediocre, to be an upscale eatery. Then again, I don't know how a restaurant can be open for 15 hours on a Saturday and deliver endless plates of fresh and wonderful grub. I'd rather Perch toss the fancy and serve a few items (boudin, a couple braised things) and make 'em great!"

  • "took my gf to dinner here. made a 7:45 reservation. We came quite early around 7:10 so our table wasn't ready so we tried the bar but it was really pack so decided to wait downstairs. came back around 7:40 and time flew to 8:15 and finally got seated. I couldn't get mad because the location they gave us was amazing and perfect next to the band. service was great she was very attentive, food was ok, portion was a bit too small. it was our first time here so we couldn't care bout anything else but the view and how happy my gf was. Overall it was perfect I guess the view made up for the rest. planning to come back again but this time for brunch")"

  • "Very good food, fabulous views and ambiance. The service was good, not great. Our server was good and knowledgeable, just a bit overwhelmed with the traffic initially. Perhaps she was just starting her shift when we arrived. The octopus, flat iron steak and short ribs were delicious. The only thing that was lacking at all was that the creme brulee was a bit thinner than we like, and the menu could stand to be longer with a few more choices. Great experience, great location. We'll be back."

  • "I had a great Tuesday night out with some friends who were impressed with Perch. I was annoyed that when I called to adjust a reservation because we were running late I was told that it would be held 15 minutes and then I'd be put to the end of the line. This may be standard at busy places, but the added insult was arriving on time, and being made to wait over 45 minutes for a seating. Finally, we were left waiting for our bill to be taken up for quite a while with nothing but empty glasses at our table. We had said that we wanted to close out our bill and move to the roof lounge for drinks, but one of my guests ended up bringing the bill with the cards up to the host desk as if we were at a diner."

  • "Make sure you get there on time if you set an appointment, you might have to avoid to try to reason with a stressed out hostess & a long wait. I didnt get her name but she was rude at first, which is not appreciated when you are looking forward to trying a new place. Anyway, she told me I had lost my reservation because I was 10 minutes late, which was ok with me, Ill wait by the bar. I didnt know how I was going to be informed when my table would be available so I returned to ask her, there was another person with her & the host who had previously acted rude began to act like the nicest person ever. Which was odd. Waitress, server & bar tender were spectacular though! I give it 4 stars because the view is beautiful & the food was so good!!"

  • "View, appetizers, deserts were fantastic....the entrées would have been better off missed. The 'Pork Belly' appetizer is the best dish here. Also good were the Moules (mussels) as well as the 'Surf' from the 'Surf & Turf'. The entrees were simply too salty and had too strong a favor....even the Filet Mingon and the Scallops. The Caesar salad was uneventful. Bread-pudding was great w/ ice ream. Nice 360 degrees rooftop bar too and live music (was a Sunday) was great."

  • "LA has the perfect weather for rooftop patio restaurants. It was great to unwind after a long day of appointments. Beautiful setting especially in the evening during sunset. Everyone around us had their phones out taking pics. And the food was very tasty too."

  • "Spring is here and what better way to celebrate than enjoy a beautiful rooftop brunch overlooking the sun-soaked city. Reservations are a must for Sunday Brunch. The French Toast was delicious. Made with Brioche and served with fresh berries and a generous side of bacon, it was perfect. For the carb conscious-- try one of the many egg/ omelet dishes on the menu. Top off a peaceful and refreshing meal with some mimosas or Bloody Marys=perfect Sunday brunch."

  • "I was put on the corner on the side of a building. I asked to be moved and was placed on the edge of the balcony inside when they were still tables available. I had reservations so it didn't make any sense when they said well those people with reservations had outside if you been to the place the only thing that you want to do is eat outside. To be honest the biggest thing that the place has going for itself is the fact that it's on top of a building. my waitress was great she was fantastic"

  • "I really enjoyed this place. We were seated right away. We had 3 additional people show up last minute and the staff was very accommodating. The waitress was very nice recommending the Writers Block cocktail. Which was very tasty! I ordered the steak frites and it was DEE-licious. The energy was very energetic full of life. Beautiful views of Downtown LA. I would definitely go back to this place."

  • "Took my significant other here for her birthday not only did she fall in love with the view but she fell in love with the food as well too. The Scallops are a very delightful dish when had with white wine! Dining on the deck next to the fireplace at night is an absolute must!"

  • "We have dined here before and thought the food and the view were outstanding. This time we invited some of our friends to join us. It was their first time dining here. They could not stop raving about what a wonderful experience they had. The rooftop setting is magnificent . The Tuna Tartar appetizer is amazing. I usually have the fish specials but this time I went with the Filet Mignon. I was not disappointed, it is as good a cut of meat as you will find in any of the premium steak houses. The wine list is small but adequate. The cocktails are excellent! Truly a wonderful night out. If you have not been here please find the time."

  • "4-5 stars until the service. The restaurant was not busy or full when we arrived. Our waitress took 5 minutes to greet us and rarely came back. We were handed our Caesar to split by a bus boy that just dropped and ran. No serving, no serving utensils, no pepper. When our 2 filet mignon plates arrived, via another back house staff member, it was again drop & run. No dinner forks, steak knives, nothing. The only saving grace was that near the end of our meal the manager stopped by and listened to my disappointments. Our waitress, was removed from our table and replaced by an experienced server that was exceptional. No follow up by the manager. Clearly Perch needs to work on their training program. Go for drinks and the view. Skip dinner."

  • "To me, the food didn't quite match up to the ambiance. Wait staff was courteous and helpful, but the kitchen needs to get its act together, as main courses came out at different times.I was practically done with my meal before my friend even got his. Great vibe, though, and you can't beat the view."

  • "Excellent service and ambiance. I didn't care much for the food since it was after lunch. It was just nice to chill in downtown LA rooftop. Consistent email response with reservation."

  • "I went to Perch for my birthday for dessert and cocktails. I was very disappointed. The seating set up makes for awkward dining. My boyfriend and I were first seated in an uncomfortable location by the door which would have been annoying due to constant foot traffic by our table. Luckily the hostess was very kind and moved us to a different table. The night was kind of ruined by the service. Our server took a really long time to get to our table, he had an attitude, and seemed very rushed. Perhaps the issue was there were not enough waiters for the number of tables so he was stressed. But, it just killed the mood."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. We had our dinner in front of a fireplace. Our pictures were amazing. The food was ok but the ambience was so much more than we expected."

  • "On one of my recent trips to Perch, I had been pleasantly surprised at some changes to the dinner menu. I had not returned for dinner after a couple disappointing experiences during their first year. Given the upgrade to the dinner menu, I was excited to try out their brunch. Unfortunately, I did not think the brunch menu was particularly appetizing. Further, when we got our food, it was somewhat lackluster. The waiter also did not pay attention to our party and forgot to bring us coffee altogether. Hopefully when I return to brunch in a couple years, they'll have made improvements to that too."
