Diner Reviews
  • "Came here for lunch on a Monday with some folks from out of town. A great place for reliably good bistro-type French food, unusual and beautiful ambience, on the 15th floor of an old building overlooking Pershing Square. A nice spot for a get together with friends! Service was very friendly and attentive, not obtrusive. Bravo."

  • "We arrived early to have drinks on the upper floor. 1/3 was reserved for a private party which they should really do only on weekdays as the place was limited of compactly. Even with dining reservations we had to wait to go upstairs. Food was great as always"

  • "Took my girlfriend here for her birthday/our anniversary and we had a great experience. I booked a reservation using OpenTable for the first time and it was incredibly helpful. They got all of my special requests and gave us a great seat with an excellent view. I would totally recommend going here and booking through OpenTable."

  • "Only comment from my European visitors - great view, great food, but a little crazy that you pay for olives with your apero"

  • "The food is great. The indoor dining/bar area is like visiting with your doting rich aunt who lives in Paris. The outdoor dining area has a glamorous view of the DTLA skyline. The wait staff is good and jolly. The restaurant gets crowded but not claustrophobic or noisy."

  • "Great venue for groups, loved the dining room style tables and the coziness of the restaurant. But although it had a cozy feel, there was a very hip vibe! Food was delicious."

  • "Had heard about Perch from a discerning friend so had bday dinner: great rooftop bar set up with decent drink pricing; great seating arrangements in actual restaurant downstairs, inside and out...service spot on and food amazing...can't wait to go back"

  • "Was looking for a rooftop restaurant in downtown LA on the internet and happened to encounter Perch. Was pleased I chose this little spot. Getting to the restaurant felt like a spy movie with the elevator rides and dark rooms. Their french toast is amazing! Perfectly cooked and lightly sweetened with fresh raspberries, strawberries, & blueberries. I paired it with a mimosa which was ok and nothing special. I was surprised that the majority of the people dining their wore a more casual dress code for a fine restaurant like this. Some advice: Go on Sunday afternoons. They have a live jazz band. They didn't play too loud that it distracted from the experience. They sounded pretty great as well."

  • "Horrible food and service!!!! Nice view and good for drinks only!"

  • "You come here specifically for the view and drinks. The food is just OK. My date and both had the filet and the quality wasn't there. It wasn't as tender as it should have been for "medium" doneness. The bordelaise sauce was great though. The sliced fingerling potatoes and asparagus were good. We shared the almond cake that came with a scoop of ice cream and sliced fresh fruit. The almond cake was too dry and gritty tasting (maybe too many crushed almonds and it wasn't moist enough). Hmmm, that dish needs to be rethought. I read other reviews and they suggested dining on the patio, which was a great suggestion. The rooftop bar was super impressive."

  • "Chose Perch for my birthday celebration and they rocked it. 11 of us dined and they customized a fixed price menu which was both elegant and efficient. The staff was incredibly professional. No detail left unnoticed. And of course the view is breathtaking. I will come back again and again."

  • "This place was recommended by a co-worker and my husband decided to take me for my bday. What an amazing experience! The view was spectacular, the ambience lovely and the food was out of this world. I expected mediocre food because I thought the main focus would be the view and the overall feel of the place. Boy was I wrong and pleasantly surprised. The braised short ribs just melted in your mouth and the bread pudding was the perfect dessert. I can't wait to go back again."

  • "Friends from out of town told me about this - don't remember seeing anything about Perch. So glad we went. It's lovely to sit outside. and the live music was also nice - not too loud, good background so we could still talk"

  • "The food was really good, though there were some glitches here and there. Our oysters had broken shells in them and we had to remind our server that we hadn't received our macaroni and cheese. The pork belly appetizer was amazing and the boeuf bordelaise was so tender that I didn't have to use a knife...it was truly enjoyable. My only other complain would be the crowded seating. My friend and I sat at a two top table in the middle of two others and there was less than 6" between tables so it was not impossible to hear the other phone conversations. Beautiful view, great drinks and wonderful food. I'd go back and try it again."

  • "The dining experience at Perch LA was fantastic! Starting from the overall friendliness from the person who called me to every person we encountered who made sure our experience was enjoyable. The food was very tasty and well plated. No doubt the VIEW steals the show! Pure class. Most important, I felt that the restaurant is not pretentious. The experience at Perch LA is a classy, relaxed and friendly environment."

  • "I had dinner there on a Monday night and the ambiance was perfect, there was a live band playing outside and heaters to keep us cold ones warm. The food is excellent, I got the tuna tartare and skewers to share and the scallops as entree. The drinks are made well :) I'd definitely go back."

  • "Love love coming to perchLA. Their brunch menu is a variety of foods from hamburgers to omlettes to steak and frites. It was a very humid gloomy day when I went, but a good mimosa fixed that. They have a live band playing for entertainment."

  • "The food was very good, the mussels were the best in that yummy broth. But the best is the ambiance & view. Not very quiet so if you want to have a quiet conversation this is not the place."

  • "This was a spectacular evening! It was my niece's b'day and she had a blast! we all did. The food was most excellent! The view INCREDIBLE! I am a power eater and was a little disappointed by the dessert selection but the rest of the dishes more than made up for that. The staff was pleasant enough yet a little entitled and superficial at best. I can only assume this is their goal as it started with the hostess (lots of attitude here) and continued on with our server who was quite condescending which I'm sure she thought was charming and witty. We however did not feel that way. Luckily for her I wasn't the one paying the bill because her gratuity would have reflected my feelings. Barring that believe or not I would definitely recommend Perch."

  • "we went to the Perch LA as a special meeting where I wanted to introduce my son to one of my managers and his wife. we had drinks in the bar which was very busy with young professionals after work (Monday night 7:30). it was loud and we ordered cocktails which where mostly done correctly--the mint julep was made incorrectly or it was an entirely different drink. we had several appetizers all good including a Charcuterie, octopus, and brie en croute. our entrees were good but we ordered a red with dinner which was delivered after we were done eating and it was not what we ordered. we has desert and port which was lovely, all and all the food was good the service so-so but the venue was really great!"

  • "This was our first time here and we went for an anniversary lunch. I ordered the crispy cauliflower and it was out of this world. They were testing out being open for lunch and we could not have gone a better time. Not many people were there so it felt really intimate and we got the best outdoor seat in the corner. The wait staff was always checking on us and even the manager came by to ask how our meal was. I would go back for sure."

  • "The entrance of the building seems to be a call back to the era in which I assume the building was built...decor and even an old black and white Charlie Chaplin film playing on the lobby screen. Greeter on the 13th floor that directs you to the other lobby with bay of elevators, which has an old fashion decor and piano. Exit the elevator at the top where you see the host and an immediate view of downtown...beautiful. Cozy loungey type furnishings in the interior, beautiful artwork and a nice bar. Just beyond there, the balcony and exterior tables/seating with a lovely view of downtown. A band playing covers of some good music. Cool wait staff and great food! Definitely a cool spot for dinner."

  • "We were treated very kindly by staff who were honest and straight forward but yet made you feel like your concern was theirs as well. We preferred to sit on the "edge" of the balcony seating (we hadnt specified this in our reservations) and upon arrival informed them of our wishes. They let us know that it might delay our seating by 20min (not an issue...time for some drinks). We were seated on the edge of the balcony, like we wanted, and it was beautiful. We ordered Pork Belly and Truffle Fries for our appetizers (Truffle Fries are not on the menu but they are to die for), Bunny Foo Foo Ravioli was excellent. David was our server and he was phenomenal. I would like to put more but I had to cut a lot....this place is great!"
