A word from Perbacco
Sleek and modern with one foot firmly in the Old World is the feeling at Perbacco. The restaurant boasts a brick wall original to the historic 1913 Hind building, with other touches such as a bar top and floor tiles made from white Carrara marble. With 16 seats at the bar and 7 more intimate tables, Perbacco creates an atmosphere for a glass of wine or a light bite. Perbacco also features 2 dining rooms, one on the main floor and a smaller one on the Mezzanine, which has the added allure of serving as "theater", with windows to watch all the action in the kitchen below.
Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salami, prosciutto and other meats are featured at the salumi bar. Filled pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature traditional dishes such as Bollito Misto and milk-braised pork shoulder with Savoy cabbage.

The food is good overall and the soup and deserts were fantastic. I though the quail was weak. I liked you could get 1/4 liter of wine but the wine was a little over priced.   • "Food is really outstanding. We enjoyed the salumi plate, octopus, and their version of caprese salad. Entrees were equally delish!! Service was a bit slow. It took about 10+ min to get a server to the table to take our order and we had to flag down servers for additional glasses of wine. Not horrible but easy to fix to make the overall experience 5 stars."

  • "Have been to Perbacco several times before, and the meal did not disappoint. Hamachi appetizer & shrimp fritto misto appetizer both excellent. Sautéed scallops in shellfish ragout was a dish where I honestly savored every mouthful -- only wish there had been bread to sop up the sauce/stock (a habit acquired in Paris restaurants)! Short ribs were (according to my husband) excellent as well. Brussels sprouts were a bit disappointing this time around. The brutti ma buoni cookies seemed (as meringue cookie do) to have softened a bit in a humid environment, but were very tasty. The kitchen also served us a special melon sorbet with cookies as an additional anniversary dessert surprise that was fresh & refreshing. Thanks for a wonderful night."

  • "First of all, OpenTable forced a 6:15 or 8 pm reservation so we took the 6:15. By 7pm, the restaurant was barely half full so I feel like OpenTable manipulated available tables to provide flexibility for the restaurant. Second, I felt the waitress did not serve us with the same attention she would other customers because my girlfriend and I look young. She was very quick with our orders and I suspect we got leftover food or an "experimental" dish. Our food came 10 minutes after we ordered and the noodles used for my girlfriend's dish were different than stated on the menu. Her pasta was very salty and my raviola was surprisingly bland. Disappointing since we came here specifically because we heard they had great pasta."

Everything else about the restaurant is excellent (though when crowded it can get pretty loud), but the pastas--garganelli, tajarin, fettucine, gnocchi, tagliatelle, whatever--are simply the best, and the sugos and other sauces complement them beautifully."

I would have returned the steak had the serviceperson ever stopped by to check in on me. Her otherwise, stellar service was marred by the fact that she never checked on how the food was. They have a very nice entrée selection too with seafood and land options....lively place, always bustling but not to the point where the staff is stretched too thin. Plenty of quaint tables for two that serve well for one if you happen to be dining alone for the evening as I was this past weekend. I felt very comfortable and well taken care of. Will keep going back."
