A word from Pera Soho
Pera Soho expands upon the exploration of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine first embarked upon by midtown’s Pera Mediterranean Brasserie when it opened in late 2006 on Madison Avenue to become a “Top 5 Newcomer” in the 2008 Zagat Survey. A downtown-ized version of the original restaurant with an
edgier approach to food and ambiance and with the pursuit of pleasing all five senses, Pera Soho embraces the Pera hallmark of presenting a culinary experience firmly rooted in centuries-old Eastern Mediterranean traditions, while incorporating contemporary Western trends, seasoned with New York City gustatory flair, without any compromise of the essential integrity of the food.
Pera Soho offers some of the signature dishes that made the first Pera so popular, while also taking diners’ palates on a more adventurous journey through the Eastern Mediterranean in a tri-fold setting: indoors, private garden, and rooftop patio for private events.

We went for brunch on a very cold
winter day, the place was pretty empty, however the staff was super friendly and our waiter was really attentive, so we still had a great time. The food was hit or miss - I loved my salad but my friends were less than impressed with their entrees. It seems to have a gorgeous outside space, so I would definitely come back on a nice summer day to sit outside with cocktails and snacks - the service is that good that it deserves another chance!"

brunch was delicious, attentive
staff, very nice place"

Right near the Holland Tunnel
which is great for those who come from NJ. Walking up to the restaurant, the entrance wasn't obvious. The food is good, I enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the Adana lamb. The service was excellent. I would hope so because on a Friday night there weren't many patrons. The servers and host were very attentive. At the end of getting the bill, the server gave a card for the guests to review the experience at Pera which was nice but some might not want to take the time to fill it out, but I didn't mind. Overall. visit and enjoy Pera Soho."

The food was fair, at best. Our
waitress kept insisting we have iced tea refills, only for us to find our later that each refill was charged another 5$ Horrible customer service. I wouldn't go back"

I came in from Philadelphia for
the day and had lunch at this restaurant the service was impeccable, the food was marvelous and the atmosphere very cozy and zen. I have put this restaurant on my best of New York list. I will be back for lunch, brunch and dinner."

Pera Soho has a lovely chic look
and vibe. The menu is quite nice and easy for vegetarians as well as fish and meat eaters. We enjoyed our meal very much."

My fiance and I were looking
forward to dining here for the first time and for the most part we had a great time until the end. We had just finished paying our bill and in the midst of finishing our champagne, when either a restaurant manager or maitre d told us to get up due to them needing the table. This was extremely rude. There were other open tables behind us and after spending a lot of money this is how we were treated. After we confronted this person, all that was said to us is that we can finish our drink at the bar. Very poor customer service."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Sat promptly and OT request for
table out of the way accommodated as best they could Live Jazz, singer was meh, musicians were great but they took a lot of breaks and left early... Beautifully decorated, romantic lighting and gorgeous hanging lights over bar Food came like clockwork although it felt the server was waiting for us to finish our bottle of wine before he took our order... Delicious strwbry champagne and perfectly portioned menu, risotto a little undercooked but the lobster saved it Two sets of awful guests on one side- as an ex-restaurant worker they were horrible (and cheap) and on Valentines! Poor server! I walked out with a rose, balloons, my date and a smile on my face. Overall an excellent Valentines, thank you Pera!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
The wine and apps were good, but
when main meals came out, they didn't cook meat to correct temperatures for our party, and dishes were very mediocre, including the sirloin and hanger steaks. Been to the midtown location which was better, but I would not return to the sister restaurant in Soho again."
Dined on 2/10/2014
We went there with our kids for
brunch one Sunday. The place looked lovely, but it ended there. The staff was not accommodating at all in keeping us from the sun. Mild exceptions to the menu were not accommodated. It was a really inflexible dining experience and we would not go back."

I've had drinks in the summer at
Pera Soho and thought it was time to take it inside. I love the ambiance of the place. It's such a warm and inviting space, really pleasant on the eyes. My friend and I were the only table as we got there late and the weather was in the single digits. Our server Crystal was very attentive and professional and didn't show the least bit of annoyance at our need to linger over coffee and dessert while her shift was clearly over. I think Pera Soho is a lil neighborhood gem and I hope the summer outdoor crowd comes "in" for the winter. I will definitely be visiting again, if only for the baklava made with pistachios instead of walnuts! Deeeeelish..."

Pera SoHo has been a favorite
since it opened in my neighborhood. Staff is lovely, food presentation and preparation are first rate."

the original one on Madison Ave. comparing the Pera Soho to the original was dissapointing"

While traveling in the US you
embrace local traditions, so we went for Thanksgiving dinner "en famille"! And chose Pera Soho for it's review in Time Out NY and for it's location which was very convenient for us. The Thanksgiving menu was adequate to the season with 2 choices per course and a vegetarian option and was overall good: the turkey moist and juicy and the risotto very tasty. The starter salad was extremely acid, though: too much vinegar. The desserts were all good and not too sweet. Overall a good experience except for the bill that almost doubled the price of each menu with taxes, service and extras and we drank less than 1 glass of sparkling wine per person. But it is probably an american thing that we were not familiar with."
Dined on 11/28/2013
The food here was delicious and
great ambience. The service was great however we felt a bit rushed with the meal as there was no time in between courses."

I was so excited to try this place
out for my birthday this year. Unfortunately, while my husband and I had a nice evening out, the food was really disappointing. This is my favorite type of cuisine, so I must admit hat I have high expectations. That being said, if you're going to charge what Pera charges, you better serve high quality food. We ordered the chicken rolls for an appetizer, which I found to be dry and overcooked. My husband ordered the lamb rack for his main. The lamb was cooked nicely, but the chickpea mash was extremely bland and the eggplant fondue was too sweet. My least favorite dish was the dumplings. All I could taste was the dumpling dough (which was much too thick) and the overpowering yogurt sauce."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Attentive service, food was quite
good. We both had the bass and it was great."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Food was good the service was very
very slow. The Host came over to us and asked if we had ordered. When we said, "yes- 15 minutes ago" he ran over To our waiter who seemed unaware of the delay. The brunch entrees finally arrived 5 minutes later. The host ultimately only charged us for 1 meal. Thank goodness it was such a beautiful fall day so The wait wasn't so bad. Would not go back."
Dined on 10/27/2013
Great brunch and love the outdoor
garden upstairs! Staff very friendly and accommodating. Have been back and would definitely recommend!"

and it was wonderful! the food it's great, the wine list even better and the service was outstanding too!.."

Went for Sunday brunch. Outdoors
was awesome and food was great. The service was horrible! They need to do something about the service or it is just not worth going."
Dined on 10/20/2013
Beautiful outside area but
unfortunately this is the only good thing about this place. Service is mediocre at best and the quality of food does not match the prices they charge here. What a pity...."
Dined on 10/5/2013
We were 7 for lunch, I chose the
restaurant. I was very happy that everyone loved it. The hummus appy was excellent. Everyone really enjoyed their lunch, which ranged from hamburgers (simply delicious) shrimp & rice, a beef dish and 2 others I am not sure of the names. In addition, the bloody marys were the best! Thanks Maryann Service could not have been better, Eddie appeared magically when anything was needed. Will definitely return here."
Dined on 10/11/2013
This is the third time I've been
here for dinner. My friends & I met early for drinks and ended up adding two more to out dinner reservation and were subsequently unable to be accommodated outside. Once inside the service dropped substantially. I think the waitress was also serving guests outside as there was no excuse when there were only 2 or 3 other tables filled. She barely came to check on us, we had to ask for dishes multiple times, didn't ask us if we wanted drinks and brought us out bill as soon as we finished eating without offering more drinks or dessert. I've never had a problem with the food here which is still outstanding, but a word of caution - get a table wherever it's crowded and you're bound to get better service."

I ordered the SeaBass and the dish
was cold. Additionally, the Brussel Sprouts were tasty but, cold as well."
Dined on 10/3/2013
My guest asked our waitress if the
Pera salad was on a bed of greens. The waitress seemed confused by the term 'greens' so I clarified for her and asked 'Does the Pera salad have lettuce in it?". She said "Yes, the Pera salad has lettuce in it." Turns out, it doesn't. Waitress NEVER came by to ask if everything was ok. We finally got her attentions and asked for a bed of lettuce to put the Pera salad on. Waitress brought us the lettuce, but when we got the bill, it turns out she CHARGED us for a bowl of lettuce after she had erroneously told us that the salad did, in fact, come with lettuce. So, we took the cost of the lettuce out of her tip. WE WON'T BE BACK."

Eating outside on a sunny day with
a wall to protect yourself from smelly cars and people was awesome. The food was great. But the service was slow and the place wasn't crazy crowed. They didn't bring water and bread right away and had us waiting for things that should not have taken long. But the food made up for it and to eat outside was great. I will go back again and see if i get another waiter might be better."

Went to Pera Soho for a Sunday
brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside which was perfect. The atmosphere is very cool. Our waiter was not very knowledgable on the menu. Every time we asked him opinion on the cocktails or food all he did was recite what was written,; he clearly had never tasted the food. He was also not attentive to the requests for how the food was to be prepared. And he was not attentive at making sure we had everything we needed and checking back in with us. The fig chutney was better the last time I was at Pera so not sure what has changed but it was still ok because it was such a lovely day. The baked eggs with kale and polenta were delish!"

We had tobe downtown for dinner so
i selected this on location alone. Wow! The outdoor space was amazing and it was a perfect night. There was a large group gathered for drinks and the noise was fine and it looked like a fabulous place for a casual gathering.. Inside was rather empty because of the weather but had a great bar area and lovely dining as well We were a table of four and everything was delicious. The salmon was excellent, tuna appetizer and grilled octopus also. Friends had a lamb skewer they were raving about. Oddities: the wine list was really short, the bar was oddly stocked.. the wine poured was small for a $14 glass . Happy hour was a good deal though"
Dined on 9/14/2013
i had high hope for this place but
was really let down.. service was terrible and the food was nothing special.. my fish was super dry!"
Dined on 9/13/2013
We located this restaurant while
walking around SOHO. We selected this place for its great outdoor seating in the middle of SOHO but we were surprised that the excellent Turkish cuisine was as great as its ambience and the excellent cabana style seating. The eggplant appetizer was one of the best eggplant dish we have ever had. Surprise, surprise the Turkish beef dish was great. Lamb was equally good. Our family tried different cocktails, all were done well."
Dined on 9/1/2013
We weren't sure we would enjoy
this spot, but were very happy! Food was really good!! We would recommend and most definitely go back again! We sat outside which was very comfortable. It was very hot that day, but they had fans going which made it cool, but nothing blew around..it was perfect! Nice trendy spot in SOHO!"
Dined on 7/28/2013
This is a great place for a warm
summer evening. Lounge music, subtle lighting and good food. There are mosquitoes, but they do spray if you ask them."
Dined on 8/25/2013
The food here is fine, the
cocktails are fun, and the ambiance (particularly on the patio) is great. We would eat here more often (we live nearby and there aren't a lot of outdoor dining options) but for the remarkably incompetent service. The servers are mostly nice, but completely indifferent to the diners' experience. We've eaten here a few times, always hoping we'll get luckier with the service, and every time the food has come out of order, or wrong, and our servers have disappeared for long stretches of time. It's such a shame, because we like the menu and the location, and the patio is great. We'll likely try again, because we want so badly to like this place. But I won't recommend it to others."
Dined on 8/14/2013
Had an overnight in the city for
our anniversary, and saw this restaurant recommended on Open table as a great new restaurant to try. Totally disappointed! The food was interesting on the menu, when we checked it out beforehand, but when it arrived at the table, everything just slightly missed the mark. Salad wasn't that fresh, tuna tartare was mediocre, and the steak, though it had good flavor, was again, not up to par. The service was lousy too...got some ok bread somewhere in the middle of the meal because they forgot us, even though the restaurant wasn't that crowded. Of all the great choices for restaurants in the city, this would not be on my list to go back to ever again."
Dined on 8/10/2013
Didn't expect the outdoor dining
to be so private and spacious. Felt like you were sitting on a patio in the suburbs. Very romantic decor. The food was so fresh and my compliments to the chef for the combination of flavors. We had a Turkish wine that I will add to my list of favorites and the servings were generous. Overall it was a lovely experience and I have already recommended it to two friends."
