A word from Per Se
Per Se, the much-anticipated restaurant from renowned chef Thomas Keller, debuted in February 2004 in the Time Warner Center complex at Columbus Circle. With striking views of Columbus Circle and Central Park, the dining room is a rare blend of open space and easy intimacy, discreet drama and understated luxury. Offering a 64-seat dining room, a 10-seat private dining room, a lounge, a bar and wine cellar, all presented in a palette of warm neutrals and natural elements, Per Se will refine and redefine the dining experience.

For dinner, Per Se offers two prix fixe tasting menus for $310; a 9 course Tasting of Seasonal Vegetables or the 9 course Chef’s Tasting Menu, which changes daily. We also offer a five, seven and nine-course menu during lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $205, $245 and $310 respectively.

bright clear day, outlook over central park, beautiful table, setting, linen and attentive staff. just the right amount of explanation and guidance about the food and wine. no pressure to change selections. food perfect in texture, taste complemented wine as it should. presented by experts, the kitchen staff must be even better, if possible a magic meal the final expresso was so much better than any I had in three weeks in the usa, i almost wept. The food must have prepared my palate. worth every penny

The Sommelier Andrew was such a charming and down to earth young man, he put us at ease immediately and we drank very good wine at value prices. Of course the food was spectacular, and what made it extra-ordinary was the number of desserts that finished the meal - going way above expectations was one way to describe what we experienced. Worth every cent and what a pleasant surprise to find that Service was included.

We already had a chance to go other Thomas Keller's restaurants and as usual the execution is impeccable. We loved the French Laundry and Per Se is just as amazing. The food is spectacular and the wine list extraordinary. The service was very good, but it could have been a little less rushed. Some soft music in the background could help the ambiance. Other than this minor things, it was absolutely magical! chef Keller may your passion continue to amaze us!

Every item at PerSe has been reduced to its lovely essence but not the meal itself, which was an exercise in excess. It was lovely, but it was an ordeal. We would go back for a three to five course menu, but never again for the nine. I would travel quite a distance for the exquisite melon gazpacho, the scallops, the wagyu beef and of course the oysters and pearls. But the entirety of the experience has not been considered. Each separate step refutes the notion that more is better and instead embraces clarity and decisiveness, but not the menu as a whole which it seems ain't ever seen an idea that needed to be cut out. Never thought I'd be saying this:don't do it. Don't go. Or go and have the a la carte items until you are happy. Then stop.

Per Se was the first Michellin three star restaurant that I went and the dining experience was exquisite. I don't have to say that the food were great but the top notch service that we received was just special. It was professional but comfortable, helpful at the same time precise. I do not usually like to go to a very expensive restaurant that has a dress code but for the Per Se the well-dressed suit is just right for the professionalism that I see from both kitchen and service. Per Se is a great restaurant that I would recommend to everyone for a special occasion and if you decide to go here regardless of the high price, enjoy every moment here because it will be very special.

Location is outstanding, with views of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Their signature dish Oyster and Pearls is is one of the top dishes and their 9 course price fixe with choices is fantastic treat if you have great appetite. The menu is rather expensive. Only a few dishes remain the same day after day That makes Per Se a truly unique institution.

Having eaten at the French Laundry on several occasions my expectations were set for Thomas Keller's NYC location. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. The views of Columbus Circle and the surrounding area were excellent. The restaurant itself is not what I would call warm or cozy but it was very nice nonetheless. Excellent overall experience. Would highly recommend.

What can I say? The service is impeccable, yet the servers are all extremely nice -- not a snob among them. They accommodate every issue -- one of our party can't eat tomatoes, so they made him a gorgeous watermelon "tartare" instead of the heirloom tomato salad. It was a little more food than I wanted, but can't imagine foregoing any of the courses. And excellent wines. Of course, the price is what the price is, but what do you expect? I described it to my husband as "the equivalent of dinner and theatre," or maybe "dinner as theatre." An evening to remember.

So much has been said, it's hard to imagine what we could add. In a nutshell: the experience was astonishing, from the moment we sat down by the picture window overlooking Central Park through each perfectly conceived dish (except demerits for the poached lobster, which was stringy and not on par with the rest of the meal) to the superb, friendly service, to the amazing attention to every detail ... to the bill (but you know it's coming). This is a meal like no other. So glad we got in! Amazing skill in that place, from front of house to kitchen.

My husband and I recently dined here and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The service was fantastic, not to mention the quality and presentation of the food. Each dish had remarkable flavor, even down to the bread rolls which were all made in-house. Being sweet fanatics, we appreciated the amount of desserts they served at the end, though we were too full by then to finish everything. Fortunately, they offered to box them for us so we could continue to enjoy them at home, in addition to the shortbread cookies provided as a parting gift. Needless to say, I ate all of the cookies.

I made the reservation for my gf's bday and also noted on the reservation. When the restaurant called to confirm the reservation, it even asked me to confirm the bday celebration and asking for the name of the birthday girl. I naturally assumed the restaurant will take care of the special occasion. However, no such service was offered. I waited and waited until the server handed me the check thenI knew the restaurant didn't prepare anything for the bday. I had to ask our server for a bday cake which is a bit uncomfortable at that moment. Then we were given a menu with my gf's name on top of it says Clair's bday menu which is even more uncomfortable because it is the same menu as the regular menu. It was not a very pleasant experience.

I finally managed to time it right and secured a booking through Open Table for a party of 6 whilst in NY for a conference in July. We had a wonderful evening. Table was for 9.30 and we left about 4 hours later, definitely not a meal to rush. Food was amazing, though pricey compared to other top rank eateries in NY and London where we normally dine out. The menu is varied but to go 'off piste' at all incurs pretty hefty surcharge. Very pleasant staff, efficient but not over bearing. In all a great night out.

The food, presentation, wine and service were all excellent. Lovely spot for an intimate evening. Personally I think the ambience could be improved, it feels a bit bland in comparison to the high quality of food. Dimmer lighting, more flowers, more candles, perhaps some low music, any of these things would help, but it still rates an A plus.

After several past visits that were without exception sublime, this time Per Se let us down. We had the chef's tasting menu and the vegetarian tasting menu, and both featured one or more courses that, though lovely on the eye, were disappointments on the tongue. The notable exception was the oysters and pearls, which was outstanding, as always. Given the format, ambiance and price point, Per Se has always been a special occasion restaurant in my book, but next time I'm looking for a place to celebrate I will probably go elsewhere.

A meal is made perfect not just by innovative dishes with meticulous attention to detail, but exceptional service from the time you enter the restaurant through the time of exit; and Per Se lives up to this perfection. The restaurant went well beyond expectations by personalizing our menus with our names, and ended the courses with an overwhelming variety of desserts, as well as biscuits in a take away Per Se souvenir box. Each course induced a 'wow' each for presentation and taste. I would say the Per Se experience itself is worth a trip to New York. A must visit.
