A word from Per Se
Per Se, the much-anticipated restaurant from renowned chef Thomas Keller, debuted in February 2004 in the Time Warner Center complex at Columbus Circle. With striking views of Columbus Circle and Central Park, the dining room is a rare blend of open space and easy intimacy, discreet drama and understated luxury. Offering a 64-seat dining room, a 10-seat private dining room, a lounge, a bar and wine cellar, all presented in a palette of warm neutrals and natural elements, Per Se will refine and redefine the dining experience.

For dinner, Per Se offers two prix fixe tasting menus for $310; a 9 course Tasting of Seasonal Vegetables or the 9 course Chef’s Tasting Menu, which changes daily. We also offer a five, seven and nine-course menu during lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $205, $245 and $310 respectively.

Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I recently dined here and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The service was fantastic, not to mention the quality and presentation of the food. Each dish had remarkable flavor, even down to the bread rolls which were all made in-house. Being sweet fanatics, we appreciated the amount of desserts they served at the end, though we were too full by then to finish everything. Fortunately, they offered to box them for us so we could continue to enjoy them at home, in addition to the shortbread cookies provided as a parting gift. Needless to say, I ate all of the cookies."

  • "Only the first appetizer is of effort. The following dishes had no imagination and less effort. I do feel that the restaurant is resting on its reputation, paying no attention to other restaurants' creative job! Definitely not returning."

  • "I made the reservation for my gf's bday and also noted on the reservation. When the restaurant called to confirm the reservation, it even asked me to confirm the bday celebration and asking for the name of the birthday girl. I naturally assumed the restaurant will take care of the special occasion. However, no such service was offered. I waited and waited until the server handed me the check thenI knew the restaurant didn't prepare anything for the bday. I had to ask our server for a bday cake which is a bit uncomfortable at that moment. Then we were given a menu with my gf's name on top of it says Clair's bday menu which is even more uncomfortable because it is the same menu as the regular menu. It was not a very pleasant experience."

  • "I finally managed to time it right and secured a booking through Open Table for a party of 6 whilst in NY for a conference in July. We had a wonderful evening. Table was for 9.30 and we left about 4 hours later, definitely not a meal to rush. Food was amazing, though pricey compared to other top rank eateries in NY and London where we normally dine out. The menu is varied but to go 'off piste' at all incurs pretty hefty surcharge. Very pleasant staff, efficient but not over bearing. In all a great night out."

  • "Without question, the best restaurant in New York City."

  • "From the first step upon entry, you are whisked away to an unforgettable experience. The decor is impeccably appointed, the view is stunning, nice distance between the small # of tables, outstanding and knowledgable staff and service, equisite food, and a killer wine list. We will definitely be back to Per Se. This was the best romantic duning experience of our lives and every detail will be remembered."

  • "This is our fourth time to Per Se and it keeps getting better! Service cannot improve and the food is exquisite with flavors and presentation unparalleled. It is expensive but I think you know that already.Just go"

  • "Having been to the French laundry in Napa on a coupe of occasions we were holding high expectations for Per Se. They were all met. The food is creative and amazingly well prepared. The service is impeccable"

  • "Absolutely exceptional - one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The service and ambiance on top of the food was just exceptional - every single minor detail was thought out and the night was so incredible."

  • "The food, presentation, wine and service were all excellent. Lovely spot for an intimate evening. Personally I think the ambience could be improved, it feels a bit bland in comparison to the high quality of food. Dimmer lighting, more flowers, more candles, perhaps some low music, any of these things would help, but it still rates an A plus."

  • "After several past visits that were without exception sublime, this time Per Se let us down. We had the chef's tasting menu and the vegetarian tasting menu, and both featured one or more courses that, though lovely on the eye, were disappointments on the tongue. The notable exception was the oysters and pearls, which was outstanding, as always. Given the format, ambiance and price point, Per Se has always been a special occasion restaurant in my book, but next time I'm looking for a place to celebrate I will probably go elsewhere."

  • "This is the 4th time we dined at Per Se. It is always amazing! What a wonderful experience. It's nice to see a restaurant take such pride in their creations. It is even better to find one that elevated cooking to such an art!"

  • "We celebrated a birthday over great food, service and ambiance."

  • "A meal is made perfect not just by innovative dishes with meticulous attention to detail, but exceptional service from the time you enter the restaurant through the time of exit; and Per Se lives up to this perfection. The restaurant went well beyond expectations by personalizing our menus with our names, and ended the courses with an overwhelming variety of desserts, as well as biscuits in a take away Per Se souvenir box. Each course induced a 'wow' each for presentation and taste. I would say the Per Se experience itself is worth a trip to New York. A must visit."

  • "Great restaurant for foodies. Some dishes look artificially sophisticated and odd in taste. Tasting menu as the only option ends up in a three hours seating. Too much for me."

  • "PER SE was all about the customer and making you feel special. I brought my 2 kids and did not regret spending that much on their meals. I would definitely go back when i visit new york again. Love love love this restaurant."

  • "My friends and I were in NYC to celebrate a very special event. We happened to get a last minute reservation to Per Se. We were excited. We would be blown away. The food, ambience and entire experience was out of this world! It was a special night made extraordinary by Per Se!"

  • "We wanted to experience a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. Per Se did not disappoint. Not only was the food outstanding but the service and the view of Central Park completed the package. Staff were very knowledgeable about the food they were serving. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The staff worked as a team and we love how the food were served with great coordination. We were very full after the Chef Tasting menu. We enjoyed every dish but there are several that we wished we had more, Cheese Balls, Salmon Cone, Scallops, Fois Gras, Pekin Duck and oh the coffee and the donuts."

  • "One of the best dining experiences in the world, hands down. Stellar service, amazing food -- it's the classy, yankee cousin of French Laundry out in California. Don't miss."

  • "A terrific experience. sophisticated food, first rate service, peacefull setting. The only issue is being torn between flying to Hawaii and enjoying a burger on the beach versus one meal at Per Se...a bit pricey, but worth it if you're not on a budget."

  • "It was my 3rd time here. I loved everything except for the cappuccino, which tasted different from last time."

  • "It was awesome, the food, service, wine list and the desserts are amazing."

  • "We dined at Per Se for lunch and did the 7 course Chef's tasting menu. We were all absolutely blown away. Everything about the experience was five star from the service to the food and ambiance. Even my 17 year old sister who can be a somewhat "picky eater" enjoyed everything. If you are a serious "foodie" Per Se is a must when in NYC!!!"

  • "It was a fantastic moment. My wife and I heard about Per se and decided to go. The food and the service is really outstanding. We will recommend it to all of our friends."

  • "We were really fortunate to get a table only 2 days in advance. The sole complaint was that one or two courses (out of nine, not counting amuse-bouches and extra desserts) lacked direction and didn't really thrill us. That aside, the rest was exquisite, as was the overall experience."

  • "Per Se is simply the " most ultimate dining experience" in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!! Service is ROYAL!! The Chef's Sampling Menu is SPECTACULAR and OUTSTANDING!! Ambiance is SLEEK yet SOPHISTICATED!! WOW is all that one can say!! Thank you for a magnificent evening and a most memorable culinary delight! Can't wait to come back!! Thank you Open Table for the accessibility!"

  • "it is impossible that Per Se has only a 28 rating for food. The Zagat reviewer must have had a cold or a tongue injury on the day of tasting. 28 for food is a dream for most restaurants, but it is an understatement for Per Se. In addition, if Zagat is "shy" about giving a 30 for service to any establishment, why not a 29.9 for Per Se's service?"

  • "One of the world's great restaurants. Exquisite service, fantastic food, and a lovely view of Central Park. Very expensive, (the prix fixe can quickly double depending on which "supplements" you choose), and not the kind of place you would visit on a weekly basis, (you will feel sated for a couple of days afterwards), but for that special occasion, there is no better choice in New York City."

  • "The complexities of tastes and textures were enhanced by the beauty of each plate, each of which deserved its own framed photo. Wait staff were not only knowledgable but very friendly and helpful. Comfortable Pacing of the meal added to the pleasant ambiance. "

  • "For those who would want to come to Per Se, they know what Per Se is and what they will get. They know they food, they come because they want to food. Overall it's worth the money. Service is greatly included and they remind you of this multiple times on the menu, check, credit card slip ,etc. The service is impeccable. I went for lunch and still had the 9 course tasting menu. Totally worth it. Would love to do the splurge monthly but obviously that's overkill. Plan to go again."

  • "We had a wonderful night at Per Se I loved loved loved oysters w pearls dish. The array of subsequent plates did not disappoint. I was so full at the end of the night could not possibly imagine eating another dish and then the parade of deserts poured in lol. They were thoughtful enough bring out special anniversary desert"

  • "from a 3 Michelin stars restaurant? Per Se has been the best 3 stars we've dined in so far. Outstanding food presentation and quality, great service, elegant ambience and spectacular views over Columbus Circle and Central Park. "

  • "Both are amazing! One embodies wine country chic and the other an inredible Central Park view. The food is equally magnificent (blindfolded one can't tell the difference) as are the wines. Pricy but equal to the great 3 stars of Europe. A must for ones bucket list. "

  • "We went to per se to celebrate my graduation from graduate school with my second masters degree. The dining experience was one I will never forget. The personalized menu was a wonderful surprise, as was the special dessert with the chocolate cap. It was amazing!!!"

  • "Starting with the very pleasant reservationists, who made it so easy to make changes to our reservation, we knew this was going to be special. Nice personal touch by adding a congratulatory note, with names, on the top of your table's menus. The food is fabulous and just the right amount. By the end of the meal, with its 9 courses of small servings, you debate whether you can fit dessert, but you know must have it because you know it will be great. The anticipation of each guest's changing needs makes your celebration even more special. Per Se is truly a memorable experience."

  • "My wife and I are confessed foodies, and our careers and vacations have allowed us to eat in great establishments all over the world. My father was a Sheraton (now Starwood) VP and I grew up in the business - I know good food and wine. Our all time top meal was in the early 90's at Joel Robuchon's Le Jamin in Paris, which is legendary and revered. Per Se is in that league."
