A word from Per Se
Per Se, the much-anticipated restaurant from renowned chef Thomas Keller, debuted in February 2004 in the Time Warner Center complex at Columbus Circle. With striking views of Columbus Circle and Central Park, the dining room is a rare blend of open space and easy intimacy, discreet drama and understated luxury. Offering a 64-seat dining room, a 10-seat private dining room, a lounge, a bar and wine cellar, all presented in a palette of warm neutrals and natural elements, Per Se will refine and redefine the dining experience.

For dinner, Per Se offers two prix fixe tasting menus for $310; a 9 course Tasting of Seasonal Vegetables or the 9 course Chef’s Tasting Menu, which changes daily. We also offer a five, seven and nine-course menu during lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $205, $245 and $310 respectively.

Diner Reviews
  • "This is the 4th time we dined at Per Se. It is always amazing! What a wonderful experience. It's nice to see a restaurant take such pride in their creations. It is even better to find one that elevated cooking to such an art!"

  • "This was one of the best restaurants in the U.S. Excellent in every respect -- and very expensive."

  • "We celebrated a birthday over great food, service and ambiance."

  • "My friends and I were in NYC to celebrate a very special event. We happened to get a last minute reservation to Per Se. We were excited. We would be blown away. The food, ambience and entire experience was out of this world! It was a special night made extraordinary by Per Se!"

  • "Great restaurant for foodies. Some dishes look artificially sophisticated and odd in taste. Tasting menu as the only option ends up in a three hours seating. Too much for me."

  • "It was awesome, the food, service, wine list and the desserts are amazing."

  • "We wanted to experience a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. Per Se did not disappoint. Not only was the food outstanding but the service and the view of Central Park completed the package. Staff were very knowledgeable about the food they were serving. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The staff worked as a team and we love how the food were served with great coordination. We were very full after the Chef Tasting menu. We enjoyed every dish but there are several that we wished we had more, Cheese Balls, Salmon Cone, Scallops, Fois Gras, Pekin Duck and oh the coffee and the donuts."

  • "One of the best dining experiences in the world, hands down. Stellar service, amazing food -- it's the classy, yankee cousin of French Laundry out in California. Don't miss."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "A terrific experience. sophisticated food, first rate service, peacefull setting. The only issue is being torn between flying to Hawaii and enjoying a burger on the beach versus one meal at Per Se...a bit pricey, but worth it if you're not on a budget."

  • "It was my 3rd time here. I loved everything except for the cappuccino, which tasted different from last time."

  • "We dined at Per Se for lunch and did the 7 course Chef's tasting menu. We were all absolutely blown away. Everything about the experience was five star from the service to the food and ambiance. Even my 17 year old sister who can be a somewhat "picky eater" enjoyed everything. If you are a serious "foodie" Per Se is a must when in NYC!!!"

  • "It was a fantastic moment. My wife and I heard about Per se and decided to go. The food and the service is really outstanding. We will recommend it to all of our friends."

  • "We were really fortunate to get a table only 2 days in advance. The sole complaint was that one or two courses (out of nine, not counting amuse-bouches and extra desserts) lacked direction and didn't really thrill us. That aside, the rest was exquisite, as was the overall experience."

  • "Per Se is simply the " most ultimate dining experience" in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!! Service is ROYAL!! The Chef's Sampling Menu is SPECTACULAR and OUTSTANDING!! Ambiance is SLEEK yet SOPHISTICATED!! WOW is all that one can say!! Thank you for a magnificent evening and a most memorable culinary delight! Can't wait to come back!! Thank you Open Table for the accessibility!"

  • "One of the world's great restaurants. Exquisite service, fantastic food, and a lovely view of Central Park. Very expensive, (the prix fixe can quickly double depending on which "supplements" you choose), and not the kind of place you would visit on a weekly basis, (you will feel sated for a couple of days afterwards), but for that special occasion, there is no better choice in New York City."

  • "it is impossible that Per Se has only a 28 rating for food. The Zagat reviewer must have had a cold or a tongue injury on the day of tasting. 28 for food is a dream for most restaurants, but it is an understatement for Per Se. In addition, if Zagat is "shy" about giving a 30 for service to any establishment, why not a 29.9 for Per Se's service?"

  • "For those who would want to come to Per Se, they know what Per Se is and what they will get. They know they food, they come because they want to food. Overall it's worth the money. Service is greatly included and they remind you of this multiple times on the menu, check, credit card slip ,etc. The service is impeccable. I went for lunch and still had the 9 course tasting menu. Totally worth it. Would love to do the splurge monthly but obviously that's overkill. Plan to go again."

  • "The complexities of tastes and textures were enhanced by the beauty of each plate, each of which deserved its own framed photo. Wait staff were not only knowledgable but very friendly and helpful. Comfortable Pacing of the meal added to the pleasant ambiance. "

  • "from a 3 Michelin stars restaurant? Per Se has been the best 3 stars we've dined in so far. Outstanding food presentation and quality, great service, elegant ambience and spectacular views over Columbus Circle and Central Park. "

  • "We had a wonderful night at Per Se I loved loved loved oysters w pearls dish. The array of subsequent plates did not disappoint. I was so full at the end of the night could not possibly imagine eating another dish and then the parade of deserts poured in lol. They were thoughtful enough bring out special anniversary desert"

  • "An outstanding fine dining experience. From the time we entered through the blue doors to the time we left it was very special. We had a table with a very nice view and the food and service was outstanding. The food treats just kept on coming."

  • "Both are amazing! One embodies wine country chic and the other an inredible Central Park view. The food is equally magnificent (blindfolded one can't tell the difference) as are the wines. Pricy but equal to the great 3 stars of Europe. A must for ones bucket list. "

  • "We went to per se to celebrate my graduation from graduate school with my second masters degree. The dining experience was one I will never forget. The personalized menu was a wonderful surprise, as was the special dessert with the chocolate cap. It was amazing!!!"

  • "Starting with the very pleasant reservationists, who made it so easy to make changes to our reservation, we knew this was going to be special. Nice personal touch by adding a congratulatory note, with names, on the top of your table's menus. The food is fabulous and just the right amount. By the end of the meal, with its 9 courses of small servings, you debate whether you can fit dessert, but you know must have it because you know it will be great. The anticipation of each guest's changing needs makes your celebration even more special. Per Se is truly a memorable experience."

  • "My wife and I are confessed foodies, and our careers and vacations have allowed us to eat in great establishments all over the world. My father was a Sheraton (now Starwood) VP and I grew up in the business - I know good food and wine. Our all time top meal was in the early 90's at Joel Robuchon's Le Jamin in Paris, which is legendary and revered. Per Se is in that league."

  • "I had heard a lot of good things about Per Se, so my husband and I decided to try it. We dine at a lot of restaurants, so wanted to see what the hype was. We were seated on the upper level at a nice table. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very kind and tried to make sure we enjoyed every course. As for the good, I was expecting more. I honestly only enjoyed the pearls and oyster and the lobster dish. I felt the lamb was a little too rare and was almost too full to take a bite. I also thought that having buffalo cheese towards the end was strange. It was a very strong taste and I couldn't keep eating it. The desserts were nothing too exciting. But there were a lot! I really did enjoy the experience, great ambience!"

  • "Killer view; there is always something to look at this prime vantage point. But for the lamb rib being slightly over cooked (our bad, because we neglected to tell the waiter that we like our lamb rare) the food was amazing! Absolutely order the duck, if it is on the menu. Foie gras superb. The food presentation was magnificent and not intimidating. I'm not a huge sweet fan, but the desserts were just the right size and delicious little treats. However, one of the most appreciated aspects of the meal, was the service. Nice, approachable, not condescending, informative and discreet. Truly a special experience that is "priceless"."

  • "We flew halfway around the world to experience for a special dining experience, and Per Se did not disappoint. From the time you enter the restaurant and when you leave, you feel taken care of. Their service staff was friendly, attentive and interacts with you with just enough small conversations. We had lunch and the seven course set menu was just enough to fill us to our hearts delight. The 100 Day Dry Aged Snake River Farm's Beef was the best beef we have ever tasted so far. They also offered to take us back to the kitchen for a short tour and meet the kitchen staff. Impressive small, clean, quiet and well organized kitchen as can be expected of any Thomas Keller Restaurant. Thank you Per Se for a truly wonderful dining experience"

  • "Per Se is a luxury indulgence. Amazing food and service. Perfection at every level. It's a quiet, well spaced out dining room with a beautiful view. Unfortunately there were loud, foul mouthed business men congratulating themselves on their latest deal beside us. Not the restaurant's fault, but I suspect it's not that unusual. "

  • "Food not as good as Daniel's and Lê bernardin's and Brooklyn fare and per Se price is like twice as those not too worth will not go again"

  • "Booked per se, bernadin and eleven madison park for the last NY trip and expected all to be at the same level, was terribly disappointed with per se. The food itself was too salty in general and not memorable in flavours, waiters showed rudeness when criticized (although there was a few that was very friendly, the 2 rude waiters tending to our table just dragged it down), food was overpriced (around double the other fine dining restaurants). They didn't have a proper wine pairing but they chose a few half-bottles that went throughout the dinner. food plus wine ended up being about 700 dollars per person. Also, not a fan of how they include the service in the price without breaking it down, and just wrote 'service included'. so tricky!"

  • "Despite all the hype, we really had no specific expectations except it would be a treat to dine here - and it was. Food was incredible with such intense flavors and unexpected combinations; each successive course amazingly better than the last one. I am not a steak person but the beef course was my absolute favorite, perfectly seasoned and medium-rare with a morrel I've never had the pleasure to eat before. Least favorite was the cheese course of goat "cheesecake" as the texture was not to my liking. Service is the best I've ever experienced, better than French Laundry, tho that was 14 years ago. Wine suggestions were on point, enhancing the dishes very well. Overall, a wonderful and memorable dining experience."

  • "Of course the food was sublime. The view, heaven over earth. But the service....OUTSTANDING! Attentive yet subdued. Quiet and stealth. Serreptitious in a good way. Courteous, warm and connected. These aren't the snobbish, dramatically breathless waiters who describe every morsel on your plate (including it's sourcing) in excruciating, conversation-squelching detail.(a little take home booklet with those details are provided in your goody bag). We had a time constraint. Yes, we were aware it was a 9 course meal. But our wait staff was relaxed and accommodating. The meal was served beautifully and paced perfectly. (Kudos to the kitchen on that as well). Per se feels like you're relaxing with friends while being treated like royalty. Thanks."

  • "Compared to Bouchon, where I have had several excellent meals, Per se was a bit of a let down. While everything was well cooked, carefully prepared and beautifully presented, the overall impression left on me was one of lack of clarity. I think in general, having had several "less than" experiences with tasting menus, that at least for me, tasting menus are just not the way to go. Too many different foods that do not digest well together. I think that the era of the tasting menu is going to be over soon, and that is a good thing..."
