We, a group of five, went to the
Pepperwood Bistro to have a nice evening out. Based on past experience this is a good spot for dinner with friends, BUT, the night we went the food was mediocre at best, the beef Stroganoff reminded me of a Betty Crocker recipe, the fish and chips were oily (not drained for that extra couple of seconds out of the deep fryer).. One guest had a dinner that probably had 20 times the required salt, couldn't eat it.. Service and location was super, this night the kitchen must have been staffed with short order cooks and not Chefs..."

My wife and I went for our
valentine dinner and had an excellent time. The food was great, the atmosphere excellent and our server was very attentive. No complaints and look forward to going back."

The restaurant was nicely suited
for a business lunch - convenient location and great food! Our waitress was nice, helpful in food selections and efficient. Orders were taken in a timely manner and food was reasonably quick."

Rushed Cold food Over Salted and
in general a very abrupt server. Felt like we were in a fast food joint. 1 glass of wine I beer ans appetisers and entrée took 1 hour and cost just over 100.00. We were seated in a booth in the bar when the place was empty due to snow storm. Won't go back and this is not our first visit. We go out for dinner throughout the areas Burlington/Hamilton twice a week to a wide variety of restaurants, pepperwoods is at the bottom of our list of go backs."

After attending a Bridal Shower at
Pepperwood Bistro this Fall, I was very impressed by the excellent service, food, and ambience. Because of my experience, I booked a reservation for dinner recently. Our dinner service was, honestly, terrible. Our server was rude and ignored us unless we flagged him down and then accusatory that we weren't flagging him down sooner despite us not complaining (we waited over half an hour to order). It was pretty bizarre. Other restaurant goers had to approach the bar to get his attention. The whole staff seemed more interested in socializing than serving. Maybe you only get good service if you are treating over 20 people ($$$) and have a simple set menu and wine list?"

My girlfriends and I were blown
away by the quality of the food and the outstanding service we received at Pepperwood Bistro this past weekend. Our waiter was hands down the best server I have ever met. He was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and appropriately attentive. Our food was served promptly, presented beautifully, and the perfect temperature. Oh, and it was absolutely delicious! I had the Brewhouse Curry and may never order anything else. Why mess with perfection? My girlfriends and I look forward to making the Pepperwood our monthly brunch date spot. We're thrilled that we found this place!"

My Wife and I visited the
Pepperwood Bistro last Sunday to celebrate her Birthday. My wife ordered one of the daily specials, fish. I ordered from the main menu , both meals were fresh, hot and nicely presented."

We had a good dinner at
Pepperwood, although with all the fantastic reviews, we had expected a little bit more from the food. The portions were too big and we were too stuffed to even attempt to try the dessert menu. Food was good, but there are other restaurants in Burlington we would recommend over this one. We would return for a drink in the bar area though!"

We were a group of three couples,
celebrating one of the couples 25th anniversary. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was outstanding - it was hard to want to pick just one thing. Maybe a selection of foods on the menu (like a tapas portion) for those of us who want to pick 3 or 4 entrees to try. Our group will definitely come back!! Waitress was wonderful and very accommodating to our many requests. Think we will come back in the summer when we can relax to watch the band and sit on the patio! Thank you so much had a wonderful time."

We went with two friends for
dinner, we had only eaten on the patio at lunch-time previously. It was a fairly quiet evening, the server was very good, the food could be better. The appetisers were very nice, but unfortunately one of the main courses was so salty we had to return it. (pad thai shrimp and chicken dish). It came back very quickly...too quick! The noodles had not been cooked this time and so we returned the meal and gave up with that meal! The steak was average, just didn't like the thick rich sauce that was placed all over it, would have preferred it to be on the side. But we were in good company and had an enjoyable evening. The bar is a nice area to sit in."

This was an excellent place to
have dinner. Well worth the money! Asked for a well done steak and it was done perfectly! You can even try a sampling of beer before you commit to a whole glass."

Always enjoy this restarunt. The
food and service are great. Nice little part of town right on the lake. When we have been there they have live music. A very interesting and personable gentleman who is an extremly talented guitar player who plays and sings. Great spot... Enjoy!"

I'm very fond of Pepperwood's so I
may be biased in my review. The atmosphere is relaxing and can be romantic if you get the right table. Their craft beer is very good and the wine selection is adequate as well. I would gladly recommend Pepperwoods to anyone."

Tried out Sunday brunch and was
happily impressed. Had some live music (acoustic guitar and song so not loud). Food was great. Atmosphere was comfortable yet upscale ish. Good prices and yummy food."

Good Value and a pleasant
experience for our group. I especially enjoyed our table and appreciated my special requests was accommodated. Soup was excellent, salad was good and my companion enjoyed the prime rib."

As we had a theatre ticket nearby,
we got to the restaurant around 4:30 p.m. and ordered the early bird special. I think I was at this restaurant during summer and ate outside. I didn't expect the inside so spacious and rather elegant. Anyway the food was excellent."

Great view of the lake. The food
was wonderful. everyone in our party was pleased with their order. Nice presentation and good selection. Something for everyone."

Had a wonderful time. We most
definitely will be returning with friends. Jenny is a great server."

Food was blah. Service was the
worst I've had in a long time. Very disappointing. Only redeeming quality was the selection of beers available. Staff was brutal."

My wife and I came for a
pre-concert birthday dinner. It was a quiet night, only about 15 in the Bistro, so service was perfectly timed. The Food was awesome!! Our waiter was great. Helpful, timed the food well, and added suggestions and a few special extras for the b-day. Will definitely be returning for some outside cafe foodie-fun. Thanks for making our first visit memorable."

Right around the corner from the
Burlington Performing Arts Center, Pepperwood makes a perfect pre-show stop. Round of drinks first ( ice wine on the menu by the glass, to the delight of one of our guests) Wonderful selection on the menue but as always the daily specials are the secret to success. We had the artic Char and the local Veal. Both were top drawer, not a single complaint. Chef Dwayne is a true gem in the City of Burlington."

We were early but not in a hurry.
The servers seemed to have perfect timing . Not too much attention, but just right and when you needed it. We really enjoyed our meals."

was great! Love the live entertainment :-)"

Such a lovely evening! I attended
with my mother and her friend (both in their 80s). We enjoyed the early-bird special @ $24.95 ea and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, the beef was a little over-cooked for my liking, but the other guests loved it. The meal included wine, salad, choice of 4 entrees and dessert, all of which were good and very filling. Our server, Lisa Marie, was a gem and added to our evening out. We hadn't heard of the Pepperwood prior to this visit, nor did we know anyone who did, as we are from another town. This is surely a wonderful location and I imagine even better in the warmer weather when one can sit outside and view the harbour. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will surely be dining there again."

Food was good, atmosphere decent,
and they had a 2 man piano bar which was nice. Our waitress seemed to lose interest in us after we ate because we weren't ordering more drinks, so we left."

a lovely place with a range of
well prepared and tasty options, good service, and a nice ambience across the street from the lake in Burlington."

Driven past it countless times but
never stopped in. Was looking for somewhere nice to take a fellow foodie on a date and decided to give it a try. Absolutely did not regret that decision as the food was incredible! Try the pork chops. Seared perfectly on the outside, cooked all the way through without being the least bit dry. Whoever is in the kitchen knows what they're doing for sure! Our server was very familiar with the food menu and their extensive beer menu, and helped us pair it all up with our meal choices. Oh, and they make a pretty good latte."
