Diner Reviews
  • "The management and most of the staff (except our waiter) were working very hard! But it literally took more than an hour to get our food but manager (not our waiter) apologized and offered us free dessert, which was very good! However the food overall was not well prepared and very pricey, even compared to Manhattan, which this place is not! The view is of Manhattan, and is spectacular! I like music loud but here it was so loud that conversation was nearly impossible...Less volume and this would be a quite romantic venue."

  • "This place has the great atmosphere, food and views. Who wouldn't enjoy Siracha chicken wings and a cherry blossom mojito while looking at the Queensboro bridge with the lights and Manhattan backdrop. Absolutely fabulous! The Ravel hotel including the restaurant are undergoing a lovely renovation which will make this spot even hotter. The rooftop lounge will be done this May and I can't wait to go back and see the remodel. "

  • "Had a great time, everything was just perefect. Staff members were very professional from the host to service. Drinks are really good, we will be going back."

  • "If you're looking for good food this is not the place for you. The portion that is given is not enough. I ordered the salmon it had no taste at all. It's too pricey and I wasn't really impress with the view. If you're going there for drinks it's fine."

  • "What a great gem in Queens and a very accessible location...only 10 minute walk from Queensboro station. Food was great, I loved the appetizers. And of course if you look at any photos of the place, it's even better in person. The music selection was broad and varied between genres, but was never too loud as to interrupt conversation. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "The food was nothing special but the drinks complimented the nice view."

  • "The food was not good at all. Definitely over prices for what they offer. The were not very much options to chose from. I enjoyed my appetizer but not my entrée. Also did not enjoy my "watermelon" martini. Did not have any traces of watermelon flavoring. I would return for appetizers and perhaps a wine but nothing more."

  • "The menu was limited, almost everything has wasabi. And the music was way too loud for such a small space. The view was great but definitely wouldn't go back. Plus it's about a 10 block walk from the subway, which was incredibly dark and shady. I had a living social deal for $35 for $70 worth of food and drink and our bill came to over $100 for two drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees. We won't be returning."

  • "Except the spring rolls were small and there should be a little more to the chicken meal than mashed potatoes but flavor was good and service was good as well definitely Wil return when its warmer loved the lounge music selection"

  • "The place is kind of in the middle of nowhere if you take the subway there get ready to walk through a industrial neighborhood. The hotel is decent looking once you get to the top the view is beautiful. We sat for about 15min before any of the waiters even acknowledged our existence. Once the very nice waiter took our order the food came out quickly. The food left very much to be desired small portions and very bland. The best thing we had was the samurai fries. The teriyaki chicken had no flavor the mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of the box and the sushi was just ok. Probably not eating there again but would go just for some drinks because it has a really nice view."

  • "My husband and I went to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. Atmosphere was nice considering the place is being renovated. Food was good. Drinks were better. The view was breathtaking."

  • "The food, though a good $6 per item overpriced, is delicious. This is forgivable, though, because you realize you are paying mostly for the view. The skyline and views of the GW are incredible and awe inspiring. The music, however, was odd. 90s grunge music which became club dubstep by 8 PM on a Sunday night. Delicious, gorgeous, but a walk from the subway & expensive, so I would not return soon."

  • "Great view, great music mixes, love the food (especially siracha chicken wings, sushi rolls, and salmon...) and the waitstaff and owners are exceptionally friendly. From the street the hotel looks a little squalid, but it's actually beautiful inside and the penthouse is so lovely. Worth the trip..."

  • "Had a great time.. My date loved the view.. Can get a little pricey if you don't pay attention to the drinks.. But overall great place"

  • "Beautiful view of Manhattan. Good service but food and drinks I think is overly priced. The music is too loud for early dinner, they should play a softer music ( romantic) before 10:00 pm."

  • "The drinks were bad, the food was bad and the service was nearly non-existent. Though the view is something to see, you can find the same or at least similar view at better restaurants"

  • "Went there Fri night with a date. As we walked in we were mesmerized by the NYC view to the left and the lit up Queensboro bridge view to the right! The menu was eclectic, food really yummy ( dainty tuna tacos melt in your mouth)but it was the level of attention from the manager to the bartender to all of the waitstaff that made it a worthwhile experience. The crowd was mixed mostly young and energetic but the noise level was not bad at all. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "The food was OK but bother food and drinks were totally overpriced and portions were small. The WORST thing was that they had scented candles going and the smell was awful. We're locals but we would only go back if guests from out of town came in - other than that, we'll stick to our other local places."

  • "I took my wife to Penthouse 808 for her 30th birthday. The place is cozy and a beautiful scenic view of the city. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. I plan to go again ,most likely during the summer. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a nice romantic hang out !!!"

  • "Great view of the city but nothing exciting about the food. Chicken Satay was over done. The sauce paired with it was horrible. The shrimp tempura was bland although the sauces pair with it improved the taste slightly. The burger was ok. And then added the gratuity onto check which surprised me. Wouldn't eat there again."

  • "We celebrated out Anniversary there on a rainy Saturday night in Winter. However, it was still a great view of the city that never sleeps! I had the Salmon dish which was average. My husband had the Steak, which he loved! Overall it was a nice place. Next time I will go in the summer so we can enjoy the outside."

  • "The dining experience was very good. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and she loved it. The food was well proportioned for the price. The set up of the food as well was very good, it was an overall pleasant experience. For another occasion I would come back and recommend this place to anyone. I wish I would have gotten the waiters name because he was exceptional."

  • "The rooftop setting is probably great in the summer, but I couldn't recommend it on a winter night. Apparently, the heating fails fairly often (as it did for us on a 23-degree night). Watching people try to manipulate chopsticks while wearing wool gloves was good entertainment value, but there's something off-putting about seeing your date's breath during a meal. Apologies were profuse, but didn't extend as far as a complementary dessert -- maybe because the ice-cream was too frozen to serve."

  • "I booked the Ravel Hotel for my husband's birthday. After looking at their website I read that they had a rooftop restaurant and decided to make to a reservation. Well, it was perfect!!!! The restaurant was exactly and exactly what I was looking for to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had an excellent meal, excellent service and the view was spectacular. After dinner we moved over to the lounge area and continued our evening with an after-dinner drink. The place was hopping they had a DJ during the beginning of our evening and then at 11PM a different DJ took over and started playing dance music. When our evening was over all we had to do was to take the elevator down to our room. IT WAS A PERFECT EVENING"

  • "It took near an hour for my boyfriend and I to sit even with reservations ,the waiter will come like every 30 minutes every time he had to bring something , and was always rushing to leave our table . The entire time we were dinning it smelled like roten woods , when asked the waiter to take a picture ,he left as soon as he handed the phone back and both picture were extremely blurry ! Never again !"
