  • "We liked the food, very overpriced for what we got. More menu for Children. You are catering to the rich and famous with your prices and everything al a carte. I would tell my friends about the place, but I think they would try it once and not go back. What we had to eat was very good, but would have liked to have a roll with it that came with our meal. If people like us eat our 2 or 3 times a week your place is not for us. Hope you last. Maybe there is enough people in Land Fall or maybe Mayfair apartments that will keep going for awhile. Good luck."

  • "A very, inventive restaurant. Foods bought from local purveyors & simply put -- delicious. I loved the Pickled Peanut chow-chow served with the collards and cheese grits. Local cheeses with toast - yummy, as well. The pork chop was so tender ... cut off the bone & sliced making for lovely presentation & ease of eating. The white sweet potato soup with goat cheese cream fraiche was amazing -- our wait person said, 'only a 1/4 cup of cream in the entire batch!'. Speaking of our wait person ... she was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about all of the food preparations & portion sizes. She made the evening even more delightful. I'll put Pembroke's on my 'short list' of favorite Wilmington restaurants."

  • "Super mix of meals - The flounder was terrific and the filet mignon was outstanding. My wife and I both love collards and we consumed every bite. The lonerider craft beer was my favorite. I really liked the way the restaurant was decorated and the tables were far enough to allow private conversation. We will be back."

  • "I had read about this restaurant in WILMA magazine. The waitstaff did seem attentive. The food was very good, but definitely very pricey compared to other restaurants of the same quality in the area. The waiter served us the wrong dessert, but we had already tasted it, so decided not to say anything. You can tell the staff really was trying to make you feel comfortable. The food was delicious, but the prices were high."

  • "I would recommend this restaurant but be prepared to spend money... I don't think there are enough variety to fit everyone's budget. I love good quality food and we eat out often. However, the portion sizes are small and you don't have the option of a salad with your meal. so, with the salad $10 (small portion), the meal (not a large portion $24), rolls ($2), +drink and dessert my meal was $50. Hope this helps! :-)"

  • "This was our second visit to Pembroke. Both times we enjoyed our meals and thought that the restaurant is a good value for the quality of the food. Both times the service was good. However, probably because the second time we went on Sunday and the restaurant was less crowded, the large, undivided space seemed barnlike and not very atmospheric."

  • "Pembroke's had outstanding service and the ambience was great . . however, our food was LOADED with salt! I had the filet and my husband had the flounder . . . it was so salty we could barely eat it. It was disappointing for sure but I am hoping this is a one time off and the chef was a little heavy handed Saturday night! In addition, we had grit sticks in the bar and they were extremely salty as well. . . We will try it again but we were disappointed as it was our first visit to Pembroke's."

  • "Had dined at RX several times so I was very excited to try out Pembrokes and see what it had in store. I had the scallops with golden rice risotto and I don't think I've ever had a scallop cooked more perfectly. Almost melted in your mouth. Everyone finished their plates at my table. Can't wait to come back in the spring and summer to see what they do with the new fruits and vegetables coming in. Would recommend to anyone. Brought a cake in for my sisters birthday and they brought it out as well as cut it and plated it for us."

  • "Really enjoyed the first visit. Will definitely return for another meal. Nice spacious room, tables are not on top of each other. Looks like the booths are rather cramped for four diners. The tables are much more suitable. Staff was very well versed in the meals and answered all questions with ease. Food was on spot. Well proportioned and flavorful. I like the fact that there is no salt and pepper on the table telling you that there is no need as the prepared meal was well seasoned."

  • "I look for good food everywhere I go. I recently moved to Wilmington from NYC and the food at Pembroke's was extremely on par with the quality restaurants that I ate at in NYC. The service was great and it was a busy Valentine's night! The only thing I don't love about the place is the ambiance. It feels like a big, family restaurant. But the prices, the food and the service would suggest it's a romantic, upscale dining experience. It would be perfect if they changed the seating to big booths and pretty tables with comfy chairs. I've noticed that this seems to be a problem with a lot of the nicer restaurants in Wilmington. Other than the seating, this place is a gem! Eat and enjoy! The deserts are superb as well!"

  • "Our waiter was very professional with his knowledgable of the food sourcing and wine pairing. The plates were definitely more than tapas size but not so large to leave me overly stuffed. The room was buzzing with life yet the tables were spaced far enough apart to allow conversation at my table without hearing the surrounding conversations. The atmosphere was up beat. This might become my go to restaurant!"

  • "From the moment we walked in I sensed the change from the previous two restaurants that had been there. The dining area was open, the decor simple but very tasteful, and while the noise level was noticeable it didn't inhibit a low tone casual conversation over dinner. Service was exactly spot on, there when needed. Food fit for the most discerning dinner with portions perfect. Had I know how delicious the rib appetizer would be, I would have had another for my entree. Butternut squash soup and the pot pie were impeccable by my tastes.The dinner menu was not lengthy but gave exceptional choices. Cocktails and a small but well put together wine list complemented the entire experience. Well done. Do not miss."

  • "Very nice drink and menu selections. The chef creates dishes that are unique with high quality ingredients. I can tell the ingredients are fresh and above average. They had a few dishes that were smaller portions and some that had larger portions. The waitress was very good at letting us know what to expect from the menu. In fact, she was the best waitress I've had in years. Can't remember her name because I never remember names unless I have written or typed. The chef is amazing. It took some time to get our meal but like my art teacher always said. "The first one done is the worst one done! " I should mention every table was full so this kind of service and attention to detail from the kitchen was very impressive. I will be back."

  • "Really liked the mix of regular and small plates for entrees; all 10 or so dishes ordered at our 4top were fantastic. Bourbon cocktails were great! Appreciated the unique draft beer selection also. Wide open main dining room was almost weird... the tables felt so distant from each other. Solid service, quite punctual; had friendlier, but appreciate being left alone to actually converse with those you're sitting down with. We will be back!"

  • "Just wonderful cocktail concoctions , loved my " old smokey" drink. Real grown up drinks without silly and sweet additions.. Now, the food, up at the top as to being innovative and fresh, we have eaten at a lot of 5 star restaurants around the country and this belongs right up,there with them. Best grits I ever had! A lot of southern places do not fix them well and I love grits, this was my favorite item along with the oysters instead of tired old shrimp and grits. I love the openness of the place, just right, and guess what, they know what Dixie Lee peas are too!!! Food of the Gods in my opinion, why more places do not serve southern peas ( try with a little mustard) is beyond me. And yes, I grew up in Wilmington and know southern food!"

  • "We wanted a special venue to enjoy a nice dinner with friends we hadn't been out with in a long time. Pembroke's did not disappoint. The staff is pleasant, attentive, and responsive. The wine and beer selections were more than enough to meet our needs. The food was perfect....tasty breads, diverse selection of entrees, all professionally presented. The desserts are to die for. We selected the apple tarts and had enough for all four of us. Yum! We'll be back."

  • "Ideas are clever, combinations interesting but nothing tasted very special and at an average of $50 a head, Pembroke's was way, WAY overpriced. Even the sweet potato biscuits were burned on the bottom. Would do much better experimenting at home and suffering a failure. One creative touch was bringing the check tucked inside a vintage cloth-bound cookbook in which you were encouraged to write comments."

This time had squash soup (very good flavors but sadly oversalted) and excellent quail hoppin' john. Nice to have choice of small plate offerings as well as entree size dishes. Like that local food sourcing is supported. Food interesting, creative and experimental, but still stuff for very conventional eaters (e.g. filet) as well. Casual comfortable clubby ambiance."

  • "A wonderful new restaurant in Wilmington that provides European style service. It is a dining experience not just a meal. The ambience is very pleasant and we really liked the table spacing which afforded us and everyone a quiet meal. Food was according to my son (a foodie from Manhattan) as good as the top restaurants there and at a reasonable cost which is in sharp contrast to the city. Yes pricing is on the higher side but you get what you pay for so it is not more expensive than the other fine restaurants in Wilmington. All in all it is a must try and it will become one of your favorite places to dine in the Port City."
