Diner Reviews
  • "My friends and I have had lunch at Peller Wineries a number of times. The food, service, and atmosphere are wonderful. I tell everyone to come here!"

  • "Made reservations at the dining room for 5pm. I arrived and provided my name to the hostess. I was asked to wait even though the dining room was empty. As I waited I watched 5 parties get escorted past me to their seats. Asked hostess why I was being asked to wait. She had no explanation aside from it was not her I dealt with on arrival and I was taken to a table. I did not hide my displeasure but also did not make a big deal about it. I expected that at some point somebody would come over and apologize for the oversight however that did not occur. The server was actually quite good, the food was good by regular standards but not quite as enjoyable as my previous meals in the Niagara region. Experience was dampened by poor start."

  • "We went here on a recommendation from a friend, it did not disappoint. I proposed to my girlfriend the night previous and we wanted to continue the celebration with more delicious food. Boy was this the right place. We splurged and both did the 7 course tasting menu and shared 1 wine pairing. We started the evening inside the lovely restaurant with a complimentary glass of bubbly after finding out we were newly engaged. As the sun set we decided to move outside, and were happily accommodated, where we finished the meal to an amazing view. If we are ever back in the area, we will certainly be going back to this place."

  • "Great location on the terrace overlooking the vineyard, ambience & service very good too. We had the choice between a-la-carte, 3 or 5 course meal with the option to include Peller wine. Since all looked so good on a-la-carte menu, we took the 5 courses no wine as we were already full of wine from sampling on the New Vintage Festival. So, the waiter tells us the 3/5 course options are mystery meals, you don't know what they are until it's in front of you. For the price we paid ($120 each) I did not expect to get served these 3 courses: 2 slices of salami, lamb broth with 2 slices of radish floating on top or 5 mussels in tomato sauce. Everything else was really good, Rib Eye & desert. Just don't pick the mystery dinner!"

  • "I have been to Peller Estates 3 times in recent year for their Sunday Brunch. Great food and wines. Every time we were outside and we had a great view overlooking the vines. We appreciated how knowledgeable the staff was on meal and wine selection."

  • "We have been to other winery restaurants before but it was our first visit to Peller Estate. We found the staff to be very courteous and prompt which made our dining experience all the more pleasant and enjoyable. Food was excellent and a good selection of wine was available. We were seated in the dining room which was bright with a cheery atmosphere. The dining room looks out to the patio which also appears to be very comfortable and cozy. Definitely will return with family and friends."

  • "Peller Estates is true destination dining. It is a highlight of our annual trip to Niagara on the Lake. The food and service are outstanding."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Peller Estates' restaurant creates rather good food; but serves rather miserly portions. The scallop appetizer has wonderful ingredients and an inspired flavour; but is, in fact, one scallop, carefully sliced into four 3 mm thick coins. The rib eye was delicious; however, at what looked like 3-4 ounces, is a rather small portion. But, then, "always leave them wanting more" is supposed to be a desirable credo. There were plenty of palate cleansers cleansers and amuses; but we hadn't ordered the tasting menu and left somewhat hungry."

  • "We enjoyed the five course meal for dinner. Hubby added wine pairings to his meal. I ended up adding the ice wine tasting to dessert. All food plates were a hit. Dessert was a bomb. Two small pieces of cake with a few pieces of fruit. Really?!! Compared to everything else, we were surprised and disappointed in this plate. You can do better Peller!"

  • "While I've only recently started dining at nice locations, now that I can occasionally afford it, I can say that the five course tasting with wine pairing was far and above the best meal I've ever had. The courses were blind, but when the wagyu steak tartar (steak tartar being something I normally cannot stand) came out, and was delicious, I knew we were in good hands. I could go on, I could detail each course and the wine pairings and how excellently they all complemented each other, but in an effort to keep this reasonably short, I'll just say this: The food and wine were outstanding. The location, staff, and ambiance were perfect. This was my first trip to Niagara on the lake, and I want to come back again, just for this restaurant."

  • "What a fabulous experience. We had the 5 course tasting menu and every plate was bursting with incredible flavours. We had special dietary restrictions and they were extemely accommodating. All the servers were very attentive and friendly. The view overlooks the vineyard and the ambience was romantic and peaceful. It was a lovely time."

  • "We had the tasting menu which was a great succession of small delicious tastes, some quite unusual (Wagyu beef tartare, grilled ooctopus), all beautifully presented on the plate. Service was attentive and unobtrusive throughout. Due to the weather we misssed out on the lovely outdoor terrace, but very much enjoyed the elegant and calm indoor dining room overlooking the same gorgeous view of vines running to the distant escarpment."

  • "Place is always great. Kevin their host is always very attentive. I always take the adventure tasting menu. A surprise food faire. This evenings appetizer was a first- Wagyu Beef! Awesome and very flavourful beef tartare. Chef Maurice even came out to us after to answer some questions we had about the Wagyu Beef. Thanks Chef! Our guests from San Francisco were very impressed with the dinner. Our server Benoit and the rest of the team were great too."

  • "We do not come to Niagara on the Lake very often but when we do we try to have lunch at Peller Estates. It's a lovely spot and the food is very good. I had asked for a window table when I reserved and there were a few available when we arrived. My wife, daughter and mother were escorted in before me. This was our 33 wedding anniversary and I was disappointed to be stuck in a booth looking at the wall. (The tables did NOT fill up while we were there.)"

  • "Wonderful service, food prepared beautifully, beautiful setting....the only slight negative would be the portion sizes. I understand gourmet, small plates and multiple courses, but I would say this was more "tiny" sized than "small". My daughter and I both ordered the "dessert sampling for two" and each ate our own. We are both 5'3" and 110lbs and had just eaten 4 courses. We did eat every morsel and everything was wonderful."

  • "My girlfriend and I had a great time at the Peller Estates. We had a four course meal with wine pairing which was outstanding. I highly recommend you visit Peller Estates if you are in the Niagara on the lake area."

  • "A beautiful winery in a beautiful setting. We ate outside on the veranda looking across at the vine crop. It was a great day to eat outside as the air conditioning was going full blast in the dining room. Celebrated our granddaughter and her grandfathers Birthday thatwere on the same day. The wait staff Bernard was delightful and attentive . A perfect lunch had by all>"

  • "Went to Peller Estates restaurant last year on recommendation from wine buyer at our grocery store. Was blown away. Went back again this year. Same result. One of the best restaurants I have visited anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Beautiful presentations, ultra-modern preparations, great local ingredients. Expensive but worth it. Don't miss it if you're in Niagara-on-the-Lake, unless you have an aversion to a formal atmosphere (dress can be casual). Their white wines, ice wines and sparklers are all very good, too. The restaurant at their sister winery, Trius, is also excellent, but a completely different menu and more casual atmosphere. Don't miss the wood-fire pizzas there."

  • "Delicious "surprise" tasting menu despite my concerns (despite my concerns...I'm not very adventurous). Super service & overall terrific evening."

  • "We booked here on a recommendation and advised to take a terrace table as the views where stunning over the Vineyards. We had pre-booked a terrace table, but were given a inside window table(due to demand as the weather was beautiful).A disappointment as the only view I had was of shelves of glassware and a table of people on the outside terrace! We almost never sat down. The Maitre-d was extremely pompous and arrogant. Happy we did,the rest of the service was superb, timing between courses, perfect. We had the 4 course brunch with wine pairing. The food & wine were exceptional and inspirational. The outstanding course for me was The Icewine Scallop Benedict, although all 4 courses melted in the mouth.Beware the Maitre-d,but definitely recommended."

  • "My wife and I had high expectations however, we knew that part of the hype could just be that... hype, given that this was a winery setting. We were not disappointed ... this was a fantastic experience on all levels. I had the 4 course brunch experience; the salmon tartar was great, the scallop was perfectly cooked, the halibut was moist and buttery. My wife's sélections of the PEI mussels in safran cream and lobster linguini in icewine and truffle sauce scored even higher than my menu ! The Chardonay Sur Lie Reserve wine was one of the best Chardonay we have had. The service was impeccable and we had a great view on the vineyards ... all this on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Perfect ending to our vacation in the NOTL region."

  • "While our server, Colin, was outstanding, and the food was a little disappointing, the whole experience of being on the outside patio in the evening under the umbrellas, looking at the vineyard , enjoying the wine and great company, and watching the sun set on the vines, was magical. Two persons in our party had the tasting/wine flight meal. I thought the individual course selection was a little dull. But, the incredible service and ambience was outstanding. We were celebrating a birthday, and Peller made it a truly wonderful evening."

  • "I have eaten here several times and never been disappointed. I always order the tasting menu (5 or 7 courses plus an amuse bouche and palate cleanser) which is a "surprise" and includes little or nothing that is on the published menu. Portions are reasonably sized although guests from south of the border might consider them small. Count on 2 to 3 hours to eat. I book as an entertaining break from the Shaw Festival. Worth every penny. All the wines are Peller products."

  • "Took our friend to Peller Estates Winery Restaurant for lunch. It was a special birthday and the service was incredible. We had an amazing view of the vineyard and the wine was delicious. Our meal was served with professional elegance and courtesy. It was a lovely day. Pellar Estates Winery Restaurant provides "class" with a reasonable price and fantastic food. Make sure you visit!"

  • "We visit NOTL several times a year. Decided to dine at a winery & Peller most recommended. Lovely setting, very pretty dining room. Knew the food would be over-priced. We did appreciate that the wine wasn't marked up! I don't like helicopter servers, which Colin was not, barely checked on our needs.Think he wrote us off as tourists who didn't tip well from the get-go. Big mistake. Seemed very relieved when we didn't order dessert and then informed us he had to take care of the "big group in the front" But crassly being told that, then having to wait so long for the tab was irritating. Felt like we could walk out and no one would notice. Won't return, won't recommend.BTW, I gave 18%grat, far more than he deserved but I just wanted out."

  • "We were given a friendly greeting by the hostess on our arrival at Peller Estates Winery Restaurant and seated at our place of choice with a vineyard view. Service was prompt, accommodating and friendly. At my request our server selected an excellent red wine with my order for the boar meat I had ordered. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I was able to order three bottles to take home, following our visit. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her plate of Lamb. I found the boar meat not as tender as I had anticipated. Otherwise the dining experience was very enjoyable."

  • "We had a wonderful experience at Peller. We were 2 couples seated outside. When the temperature started to drop we asked if it would be possible to move to an inside table . They were very busy but didn't miss a beat and we were given a lovely table so we could still see the beautiful vineyard vista! the food and wine quality we had with the 5 course tasting menu were superb. Prepare to spend over 100$ per person with tip. Well worth it in my opinion"

  • "Me and my wife had lunch at the winery. It was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the patio was overlooking the vineyard. The wait staff was excellent. We order the brunch and a tasting menu. The main courses were both delicious and very nicely presented and give them 5 stars for the main course. All other dishes were low level. I might not order the whole tasting menu or the brunch next time and go straight for the main course. The wine pairings were excellent. Overall great atmosphere and very nice. Pricy but great for that special occasion. Strongly recommend it."

  • "My husband and I were visiting the Niagara region and were highly recommended to dine at Peller Estates, and were very pleased. We chose a la carte items that were each very well presented and delicious. The service was top notch. Would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Enjoying a lovely dining experience on the terrace of the winery estate dining room, with a soft breeze, a beautiful sunny day, an upscale tasting menu with wine pairings - sounds ideal. Unfortunately, it fell short. As it turned out, there were 2events which created stress on the system...everyone was just flustered; from our greeting; to the slow/drawn out service (to which an apology &a glass of wine was offered as a gesture - duh!) we even had to change from 5 course to 4 course option! the potato cake was overly salty; the halibut was cooked dry; the meat cut was suspiciously lean for a ribeye?! Our guest-a butcher-asked about the mixup- he felt answer was dubious/incorrect; a mix up with the dessert-all up-a major $400 disappointment."

  • "Peller Winery Restaurant is one of our favorites. We like to visit 2 or 3 times/year, because the food and their wines are truly exceptional. It is consistently one of the best restaurants where we have eaten. I started my diner with a seared scallop appetizer. The scallops were tender and sweet. My wife had a foie gras mouse toped with tiny mushrooms and it was also very good. For dinner my wife had lamb chops and they were excellent. I had roasted wild boar which was very tender and tasty. We always ask to have our meal accompanied by the wines they suggest for each dish and have never been disappointed. And is a great way to try some new wines. We always end up taking a couple of bottles home with us."
