  • "Excellent dining experience! Dinner was a feast for the eyes and palate! Lovely presentation, delightful little extras, food was done to perfection and each bite was better than the one before. Portions substantial. Wait staff friendly, humorous, knowledgeable, attentive. The dining room is out of the magazines! decorated in the most beautiful colours and is welcoming to both the casually dressed diner as well as those going to the theatre. View is outstanding! We're already planning our next visit and will make this our special destination spot! Well done Jason and staff at Peller! PS buy the cookbook, Jason may sign it!   • "In the past Pellar Estates was a special occasion restaurant. This time it was disappointing. The mussels that we had for our first course were tiny, lots of empty shells and not flavourful. When asked for lemon they brought two tiny pieces as though they were running out and had to conserve. The same was true for the bread. In. general it felt "parsimonious". Although the wait staff were pleasant, the service was quite slow even though the restaurant was less than 50% full."

  • "The personal service offered by our waitperson combined with the outstanding meal (we ordered a la carte) made it a most enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. The pacing of our meal was perfect and our waitperson offered samples of wine before ordering so we could be certain of getting just what we wanted. Our experience was so good that we are going back for lunch before we return home."

  • "Expensive, but most delicious, tasting menu with Peller's flight of wine offerings allows you to truly experience their various vintages with beautifully prepared cuisine in a lovely setting overlooking their vineyards. A lesson in food-wines. We initially laughed at the artistic but scant plates, longing for a salad or more veggies, until we realized that we were receiving the seven-course tasting with it's three main entrees (rather than the five-courser we had thought we ordered) and there would definitely have been no room for any thing else. Definitely don't try this unless you have two or three hours or so in which to dine, and can walk to your accommodations."

  • "Beautiful weather encouraged us to have our brunch on the patio overlooking the vineyards . A gracious host seated us beside the bubbling fountain -a perfect setting. What followed was equally as memorable. Our waitress was personable and quietly efficient. We never felt rushed as the five course tasting menu continued to impress course after course. The wine pairings were a worthwhile addition to the gourmet presentations. The proportions were exactly right. Each was perfectly cooked and plated to please the eye as well as the taste buds. It was the perfect 46th anniversary celebration!"

  • "For the first time we left a restaurant mid-way through. We were here to celebrate a birthday occasion & we were deluged by fruit flies. The server did open the patio door to let them out but when at least 10/15 circled us & landed on the bread and/or wine we asked to be moved. We were moved with no issues but the same thing happened at the new table. We've eaten all over the world & never experienced something like this. We asked for our check and left. The manager came over & told us it was not the restaurant, it is the time of year. When we ended up eating at another high end restaurant or other places over the weekend, we didn't experience this at all. Therefore the issue was with Peller. I wouldn't eat here again."

  • "Certainly Peller Estates knows how to do it...the outstanding wine, the fabulous view of the vineyards and the excellent cuisine. If you're looking for fine dining with "the regulars" (pastas, chicken, salads, etc.), head into the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. But if you are someone who has a refined and sophisticated palette with a price to match, Peller is perfect. Excellent for special occasions..."

  • "The atmosphere is great, the patio overlooking th vineyards is nice. Food is good, well served, well presented and definitely worth the trip from Toronto for a special occasion. I wouldn't rate the food as extremely creative or extremely delicate, but it's good. Service is excellent. We were a group of seven and we all took the 5 course dinner and all the plates arrived together with multiple servers. Very nice and enjoyable evening."

  • "My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night and had the Chef's tasting menus - we had the 7 course and the 5 course with the wine tasting options. The tasting menu was very good and gets better through the courses. They have done a good job matching the food to the wines. It started with an oyster amuse bouche and progressed through a smoked mackerel salad, a tomato soup with smoked cheese and bacon, a rabbit loin with escargot, beef rib eye, a triple brie cheese plate and a desert of summer fruit. The rabbit was the best course by far which was on the 7 but not the 5 course option. The wine option was good value as it was a full glass of wine with each course and allows you to sample almost their full range. Service was impeccable."

  • "We had the 7-course tasting menu with matching wine courses. The matching of wines and food was interesting (Sauvignon blanc and tomato soup?) and absolutely fantastic! (Sauvignon blanc and tomato soup - it really worked!). The chef brought out the best in the wines and local produce. The courses were varied and kept our interest from first to last course. Loved the vegetable compositions paired with meat and seafood. We also loved that the food was light enough that one could still appreciate the 7th course (a dessert course of local berries, a buttermilk cake and a berry wine reduction). The service was great, professional and friendly - we appreciate when the servers are excited about the food!"

Would expect a few as it's a winery but had to cover our glasses, cork bottle and swat at our faces and plate to avoid ingesting them. Once we moved outside it was good. Unfortunately they should have suggested dinners eat outside as an option before our courses began."

  • "This is the second time I have eaten at Peller Estates and it was every bit as spectacular as the first time. The foie gras mousse might be one of the best things I've ever eaten! The soy glazed duck breast was cooked to perfection, pink and crisp skinned. The cheese plate we had for desert had 5 cheeses, 4 of them wonderful and one good. And the wines were delicious as ever. Peller makes a nice dry rose in their signature collection and a great Cabernet Franc too. I would definitely recommend springing for the Signature wines as they are that cut above the rest. It's a bit of a splurge but well worth it!"

  • "I'm not sure what we were expecting, but our visit to Peller was outstanding! We spend quite a bit of time in the Niagara Region and, for some reason, we've never visited Peller Estates. Rest assured, we'll be back time and again. The estate itself is absolutely beautiful - what a lovely drive in. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside with a view of the vineyards. The food was excellent, although I did find the 5 course tasting menu somewhat uneven. Tiny portions for some courses and a bit too large for others. We had a little trouble getting our coffee and bill at the end of the meal. Apparently, the restaurant suddenly got quite busy. Not a huge deal, but when you're ready to go, you're ready to go."

  • "We had an excellent meal - the ice wine chicken liver parfait was light and airy with delicious flavour. I had lamb shank and my friend had the salmon, both of which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Dessert - the chocolate cream brownie and the sorbet were extremely tasty. Plating was beautiful. We were able to eat outside, it was a beautiful day. The ambience overlooking the vineyards was lovely, very relaxing with beautiful vistas. The indoor dining room looks very peaceful and relaxing as well. The restaurant seemed under-staffed the day we were there but made up for it with professionalism and a focus on customer service."

  • "We went for a 1 pm lunch and had a great time. Food was excellent and the wine by the glass is reasonably priced. Unfortunately three tables of 6 (without reservations) arrived just before us so the staff were more than a bit overwhelmed. Not their fault and they tried to be attentive to us but had way too much to do."

  • "My husband and I joined another couple for an amazing tasting menu paired with wine. The staff explained each course along with its wine pairing. The ingredients are local and fresh. I have not experienced a tasting menu before. It was enjoyable to be surprised at each course. The pork tenderloin was a little underdone for my companion. He was not eating it and the waiter noticed and corrected it immediately. The wine pairings were varied and enjoyable. There is a patio but we were unsure of the temperature so ate inside. It looks lovely and I would suggest it if you like eating outside."

  • "We attended late August, before the show in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Another time we would try the winemaker’s tasting menu, but we didn’t have 2.5 hours to savour it. Still, the a la carte menu is good. A fresh Malpeque oyster to start proceedings. Good appetizers, my duck with tagliatelle was wonderful. My dinner companions had a mousse paté. Mains - mine was local Pickerel on vegetables. There was also a perfectly cooked swordfish and a wonderful duck main."

  • "We've eaten at some very fine restaurants in our time and the best ones always make their patrons feel comfortable and satisfied at the end of the evening. I can see how Peller is aiming to do this. But I think they've become too concerned with what they believe is fine dining. My main complaint is that the prices are so very high and the portions are so very small, I cannot come away from the place feeling satisfied I received any value in the meal at all. My lamb for example was (literally) enough to be balanced on a single tablespoon. Having quality does not necessarily mean reducing the quantity proportionally. In the end I wanted to raise my plate and say, "please sir, I want more..." !"

  • "Our family and a friend spent 2 1/2 hours at a wonderful lunch table. The young ladies experienced oysters for the first time. There were so many appetizer and main courses to choose from. Everyone was so pleased - the beef was exceptional. The salmon and couscous was very flavourful with the addition of spinach. As the mom, I really appreciated Pat's (our server beyond compare) attention to one dietary restriction. Without undue attention, my daughter was served a variety of other dishes she could consume. This lunch truly made a memorable family meal."

  • "We had brunch here on a Sunday. I had the brunch tasting menu 4 course. Everything was superb in terms of flavour pairings, presentation and speed of service. My fiance had the blind 5 course tasting with wine pairings. The bill was a bit of a shocker but well worth it. His salad course had basil sponge and peppercorn meringue. Didn't know that it was possible to eat such delicious food. He had the must lucious duck, a lovely soup and a chocolatey dessert. Chef sent out special amuse bouches of oysters, pannacotta pre-dessert and a fruit ice between courses to cleanse the palate. We will certainly be back. I have booked a table for our wedding dinner. I am elated to go again!"
