Diner Reviews
  • "The service and food quality is what continues to bring my wife and I back year after year. It is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner or just hang out with friends or family."

  • "The food at Peller is outstanding. The suggested wine pairings are perfect. The dining room is nicely decorated and quiet and the window tables give a nice open view on the grounds. I have been here for both dinner (during Fabulicious) and for a lunch with my mother and had an excellent experience on both occasions. My husband is a complete food snob but is a fan of Chef Parsons."

  • "Had a beautiful dinner with my husband and 16 year old son. Arrived in time to watch sunset over the vineyards. Service was strong and food was even better. Wine pairings, were, of course, spectacular. Very special evening."

  • "We travelled through Niagara on the Lake on our way to participate in a wine judging in Rochester. We selected Peller to try for dinner. We had the 7 course tasting menu paired with their wines - we were floored by the exactness of the pairings and the quality of both the food and wine. Although called a "tasting" menu, the portions were ample, and we took some home. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines as well as the food. Ambience was quiet with smooth jazz playing in the background. Cozy dining room with fireplace. Romantic!! Very relaxed pace. We have already recommended this to a number of our friends and colleagues. Will go back again for sure!"

  • "We found the experience outstanding. We went for our anniversary dinner. We were fortunate to get the dinner at a special price of $59 each. We actually thought there would be enough food as everything was artfully and beautifully displayed on each plate ~ but we started out with small portions. To our surprise we had more than enough food. Each dish was EXCELLENT. Only the final baked cake was disappointing. We love Peller Estates and come out at least 2-3 times a year. But this meal out ranked everything we had ever had at this location. We definitely recommend and have already recommended to our friends & family to come eat. We posted on Facebook as well. Thank you"

  • "Amazing! We were celebrating a special occasion and it was everything we were looking for. The service was fantastic and the food was beyond our expectations. The tasting menu is definitely worth the adventure. Wine pairings gave us a great taste of some new wines to us and definitely left us wanting to return."

  • "My husband and I came in on Saturday for his birthday. Our server was 'Jen'. It was honestly one of the best meals we have ever had, from start to finish. Every course, every pairing, & the service level was incomparable. We can't wait to come back!"

  • "In general, all the dishes have promoted the raw and original taste of each individual ingredients! I could taste the sweetness of the beets, carrots, broccoli, Hallibut, and steak! Nothing was overcooked, nothing was overpowering other ingredients! It's like a song, every ingredients sounds so clearly by itself, but at the same time, complimenting each other! It's hard to express how tasty the dishes are, but the depth of each dish, and the combination of them are well orchestrated. Well done! At last, I've been different restaurants with my GF in last six months, even in US. But Pellar is the one she loves the most!I'm glad the chef Jason has made such a fantastic dinner so we did have a good time there, which meant a lot to us! Thanks!!"

  • "Great evening with food and service fantastic. We had the 5 course tasting menu which had something for all tastes. The wines were paired perfectly. Don't miss this if you get a chance."

  • "A beautiful restaurant with exceptional food and great service. The wine really compliments the meal and I strongly suggest ordering the wine pairing. In the warmer months, dining outside is more than just pleasurable! The patio is wonderful!"
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "We reserved for the 5 Course tasting and added the wine pairing option. We were surprised to learn it was a blind tasting, ie. we didn't know what was coming, After checking for allergies and things that we just did not like, the event began. Unbelievable is all I can say. With all the interludes, roasted vanilla over ice was one of them, I think it was closer to 12 courses. The service was superb, the food out of this world, and the wine pairing really did add to the experience and was well worth the extra cost. Will we be back? You can bet on that."

  • "Beautiful room, and as always the service was excellent. the tasting menu again was a wonderful experience and we really enjoy their wine pairings. The food was cooked perfectly and the quality of ingredients is evident, so ordering blind here causes no concern. Leisurely pace,"

  • "Twice a year in Niagara-on-the-Lake is Fabulicious, where a number of restaurants offer a fixed price menu, this is an opportunity to experience great dining at a good price. As we live down the street from the winery it was an easy decision that we would dine at Peller's. Never been disappointed in all these years, wine list is top notch, it is a VQA winery! So if you are look for a place for that special somebody of just a night out, Peller's offers a very fine dining experience, and casual attire is acceptable too."

  • "8 ladies ordered dinner at Peller Estates as part of the NOTL Fabulicious Event - separate cheques, no problem. The special menu had a 3 great offerings in 3 separate courses. Most at the table ordered the beef and onion soup. It had real depth of flavour and was a real hit. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the whole Cornish hen was huge - no one ordered the salmon. Desserts were wonderful and they accommodated a guest who required gluten free by preparing her a chocolate mousse that wasn't on the menu. We were all well satisfied with our meal and I received many compliments thanking me for having selected this venue. Peller Estates is an excellent choice for an elegant meal !"

  • "We dined at Peller on March 2, 2014 for the Fabulicious lunch. The service was excellent, the food amazing. We had a lovely table overlooking the sunny, snow covered vineyard. We have dined at Peller several times and have enjoyed every experience."

  • "I Made a reservation for my husband birthday on March 1st after reading some of the reviews i thought it would be nice to book a wine tasting and then have dinner. BIG MISTAKE I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone. I was very disappointed that we drove for 1 hr and 45 mins to have such a horrible experience.the food Quality was very poor. Our dinner was so terrible there was no flavor in the food we had salmon that was very over cooked and Steak that tasted like rubber NO FLAVOR AT ALL. My experience during Fabulicious was far from the word. I work for a media company and i will be sure to spread the word on how tasteless the food is at Peller. maybe i just expected too much."

  • "We went to Peller for Fabulicious. The food was wonderful, the wine pairings were spot on and the service was great. Highly recommend!"
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "We dine at Pellar quite often and the food is always outstanding until this trip. Both my wife and I felt that being a special Fabulicious menu was an attempt at doing something different that ended up tasting average. I had the panini with the lobster poutine and my wife had the salmon. The taste was average and well below our usual expectations for Pellar. We will however return as it was likely just a bad day for them."

  • "Both of us disliked the flavor of the soup. Took a few spoonfuls and didn't finish the rest. Had the duck fettucinni dish. Didn't realize that the only duck item was the egg. No meat. Dessert was small but tasty. I was not satisfied. Ordered a wine flight with the meal at a cost of 30 more dollars.Too much to consume in an 1 1/2 hours. Time given for the meal. Consider offering a wine pairing for less and smaller portions. Each glass of wine worked out to 10 dollars. Too much."

  • "Beautiful atmosphere...and quiet. We had four in our party and all were so happy with the appetizers, main courses and desserts. The Gamay Noir was excellent. The only complaint was the men did not enjoy their beer. Can't wait until next year to try something new."

  • "This was our second time at peller estates for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We attended a fabulicous event with a preset menu however there were excellent options to choose from. A very romantic ambience with fantastic wine."

  • "I can only speak of my own food choice and experience. The appetizer I chose was an onion soup...this soup came to the table in a very small portion, was mostly broth and was lacking in flavor. The entree I chose was a salmon dish...the salmon was good but the accompanying items were lacking in flavor and did not seem to pair well with the salmon. The desserts were, of course, all good. Being familiar with Pellar wines, I noticed that the wines on the restaurant wine list were about two times the cost in the Pellar wine store right next door...this did not seem appropriate. The service was very good. The ambiance was good...I was seated facing the windows and found the light level coming from outside a little uncomfortable."

  • "Food was absolutely gourmet!!! cornish hen was done just right moist but done and not dry, same for salmon."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "Likely the most boring meal on record ever. Not a fine dining experience at all. The most bland cornish hen ever! Glad this is not on your reg. menu. Lesson learned: if you pay cheap prices, expect cheap food. Ample room for improvement with the Fabulicious menu."

  • "Forget the promotion and pay full freight for regular dining. Dinner was rushed, food disappointing. Lobster tail dry and tough, vegetables were sparse on the plate. Great ambience and service. Simply felt like they were trying to squeeze revenue and seatings into a fast ffod type service. The should be better than this. Disappointing Overall. You usally get what you pay for except in this case you got even Less!"

  • "This was my first time at Peller Estates Winery for dinner. Very nice place, comfy chairs and great service. I liked the fact that all of the waiters/waitresses helped each other and you didn't have to wait long for service at all. They were friendly and the food was very good. We'll go back for sure."

  • "We loved the relaxing feel and comfort of this restaurant. The service was excellent and we did not feel rushed. The braised beef soup was delicious and the mussels were magnificent. We definitely would return to try more dishes."

  • "I selected a Paring of 5 courses . Underwelmed . There was only one course that I thought was fab , Duck breast with jus , so delicious ! Ice wine over ice crystals , brillant ! The other 3 courses including desert, just ok . Deconstructed Apple Pie desert not bad ,apples too sweet ! Wines parred well . Pinot Nior outstanding ! Very expensive ,,,,$300 for 2 people . Wished I had ordered of the menu ."

  • "I brought my SO here for a weekend getaway. We picked the 7 course prix fixe menu and were not dissapointed. The food was adventurous and plentiful. We got a few extra snacks outside of the 7 menu items which was a very nice touch by the restaurant. The wine was fantastic and pairing was well done. I am not a big fan of Pinot Noir but with the food pairing it was delicious and now I look forward to it again. The atmosphere is beautiful. We dropped by in casual attire but I recommend dressing up and enjoying the experience!"

  • "Dining at Peller Estates is one of my favourites. This time (Feb. 21, 2014) we had the five-course tasting menu. I enjoyed every one of the courses and thought most of them were above the usual standard for tasting menus in good restaurants. The chef manages to get unusual and intriguing flavours into most of the dishes without going overboard with fashionable foams and the like. The waitress was pleasant and knowledgable. The kitchen did a good job of accommodating my restrictions on salt and sugar. I expect to be going twice a year or so for a long time to come. It would be more but I live on Toronto."

  • "My husband and I went to Niagara on the Lake for a spontaneous getaway. Being off season for tourists worked in our favour...we had the whole restaurant to ourselves! (Hence the noise level being fine and the service excellent :-). ). This restaurant has always been a favorite of ours, though. We've never been disappointed. This time we enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. As usual, it was pricey, but excellent."
