  • "I used to work in the area several years ago and from time to time would drop in for supper at the end of a long day. I never felt welcomed and the staff was snobby and arrogant. So I stopped going and spent my money elsewhere. My brother was visiting recently so thought I would take a chance as the menu looked good and the environment is very attractive. There is a huge improvement now. Staff were helpful, flexible and pleasant. The food is much improved as well or maybe it tasted better due to better staff. Had a great evening and my brother was suitably impressed. Will return. Hats off to the manager."

  • "Great surrounding! Lovely for taking pictures and walking around. Waitress could smile a bit more and enjoy her job more. Being professional doesn't mean that you can't be cheerful. The hot water that was served could have been in cleaner pots. The water that came out was yellow and had a tea leaf. The lobster pasta... Taste was good. The creamy sauce was a bit too dry. Good wine suggestion! The flies. They just loved your food too much. I understand we're close to nature but isn't there something to be done? We couldn't totally enjoy the meal as we were busy shooing the flies."

They were thoroughly impressed by the food, wine, ambience, etc. We enjoyed an incredible 5 course lunch with wine parings. Staff were attentive and accomodating. Unlike other places we didn't feel rushed or hurried. One of the best NOTL experiences we've had !!!"

  • "The meal and service was excellent. It was a little noisy. A women at the next table made it impossible to hear each other. Luckily they were on dessert when we arrived and left 20 min into our meal. Maybe extra sound deadening on the walls and ceiling would help. Otherwise fantastic dinner."

  • "What a beautiful place! The winery looks like a European estate. The grounds are lovely and the dining room is decorated very nicely. We chose to eat on the outdoor patio which they had outfitted with huge umbrellas to keep you nice and shaded. The view is peaceful and you can hear birds chirping...the only problem is that there are trees close by that were dropping their little leaves and they ended up on the table and in our wineglasses. The food is presented very stylishly but in quite small portions for the price, which is expensive. For example, a rib eye steak is 5 ounces and is $48.00 Of course, everything is a la carte. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our pre-theater meal. Bring your whole paycheck!"

  • "We ordered the 5 course tasting menu with accompanying wines for three people. Our bill with tip was over $500. Of course we knew that ahead of time. The food and the wine fulfilled our expectations and were wonderful. But the front-end management is lacking the sophistication and professionalism of the kitchen. We were appalled to be seated under a speaker blaring some loud boom-chuck-a-boom dance music. Fortunately, when I asked if we could be seated at a quieter table, someone turned it down a little. What were they thinking? Also, the very eager college student waiters and waitresses were not ready for service at this kind of a high-end establishment. They kept clearing our plates before everyone had finished the course."

  • "An elegant atmosphere and feel but the food fails to deliver the creativity and combination of flavours that justified the price. Plain pickerel is paired with roasted yellow bell pepper but the latter has a bitter favour that ruins the pickerel which lacks any flavour of its own. The Arctic char amuse bouche is bland and leaves an odd after-taste. The ice shavings from the palate cleanser are hardened by the addition of a syrup that looks elegant when added at the table but ruins the product. Our reservation was later in the evening and the host may have been tired but failed to greet to make us feel welcome. And the biggest service faux pas? A server/host in a mint dress interrupted our server at our table to ask him a question."

  • "we enjoyed our dinner here--altho i think we will not return as there are places in the region we like better. they do have a beautiful view, and the nite we were there we were seated in front of an open glass wall, so that we had the feeling of being outside. the food was creative and very tasty, altho the portions were somewhat smaller than we expected. (and we're from new york, where gourmet portions can be VERY small.) it wd have been nice, however, if the suggested wine pariings had been offered in 2 0z samplers (as other wineries do) so that even more wines cd be tried with the quite good food. more vegetarian options wd also have been very welcome."

  • "My wife and I came here for our 35th wedding anniversary. All I can say is WOW!!! My wife ordered off the menu while I was entertained with the chef's 7 course tasting menu, accompanied with wine pairing. This was an extremely memorable evening. The food was dramatic, full of flavors and "over the top". The server was extremely attentive. All I can tell you is that it does not get much better than this."

  • "We have been to other winery restaurants before but it was our first visit to Peller Estate. We found the staff to be very courteous and prompt which made our dining experience all the more pleasant and enjoyable. Food was excellent and a good selection of wine was available. We were seated in the dining room which was bright with a cheery atmosphere. The dining room looks out to the patio which also appears to be very comfortable and cozy. Definitely will return with family and friends."

  • "Peller Estates' restaurant creates rather good food; but serves rather miserly portions. The scallop appetizer has wonderful ingredients and an inspired flavour; but is, in fact, one scallop, carefully sliced into four 3 mm thick coins. The rib eye was delicious; however, at what looked like 3-4 ounces, is a rather small portion. But, then, "always leave them wanting more" is supposed to be a desirable credo. There were plenty of palate cleansers cleansers and amuses; but we hadn't ordered the tasting menu and left somewhat hungry."

  • "Made reservations at the dining room for 5pm. I arrived and provided my name to the hostess. I was asked to wait even though the dining room was empty. As I waited I watched 5 parties get escorted past me to their seats. Asked hostess why I was being asked to wait. She had no explanation aside from it was not her I dealt with on arrival and I was taken to a table. I did not hide my displeasure but also did not make a big deal about it. I expected that at some point somebody would come over and apologize for the oversight however that did not occur. The server was actually quite good, the food was good by regular standards but not quite as enjoyable as my previous meals in the Niagara region. Experience was dampened by poor start."

  • "We enjoyed the five course meal for dinner. Hubby added wine pairings to his meal. I ended up adding the ice wine tasting to dessert. All food plates were a hit. Dessert was a bomb. Two small pieces of cake with a few pieces of fruit. Really?!! Compared to everything else, we were surprised and disappointed in this plate. You can do better Peller!"

  • "While I've only recently started dining at nice locations, now that I can occasionally afford it, I can say that the five course tasting with wine pairing was far and above the best meal I've ever had. The courses were blind, but when the wagyu steak tartar (steak tartar being something I normally cannot stand) came out, and was delicious, I knew we were in good hands. I could go on, I could detail each course and the wine pairings and how excellently they all complemented each other, but in an effort to keep this reasonably short, I'll just say this: The food and wine were outstanding. The location, staff, and ambiance were perfect. This was my first trip to Niagara on the lake, and I want to come back again, just for this restaurant."

  • "We went here on a recommendation from a friend, it did not disappoint. I proposed to my girlfriend the night previous and we wanted to continue the celebration with more delicious food. Boy was this the right place. We splurged and both did the 7 course tasting menu and shared 1 wine pairing. We started the evening inside the lovely restaurant with a complimentary glass of bubbly after finding out we were newly engaged. As the sun set we decided to move outside, and were happily accommodated, where we finished the meal to an amazing view. If we are ever back in the area, we will certainly be going back to this place."

  • "We had the tasting menu which was a great succession of small delicious tastes, some quite unusual (Wagyu beef tartare, grilled ooctopus), all beautifully presented on the plate. Service was attentive and unobtrusive throughout. Due to the weather we misssed out on the lovely outdoor terrace, but very much enjoyed the elegant and calm indoor dining room overlooking the same gorgeous view of vines running to the distant escarpment."

  • "Place is always great. Kevin their host is always very attentive. I always take the adventure tasting menu. A surprise food faire. This evenings appetizer was a first- Wagyu Beef! Awesome and very flavourful beef tartare. Chef Maurice even came out to us after to answer some questions we had about the Wagyu Beef. Thanks Chef! Our guests from San Francisco were very impressed with the dinner. Our server Benoit and the rest of the team were great too."

  • "We do not come to Niagara on the Lake very often but when we do we try to have lunch at Peller Estates. It's a lovely spot and the food is very good. I had asked for a window table when I reserved and there were a few available when we arrived. My wife, daughter and mother were escorted in before me. This was our 33 wedding anniversary and I was disappointed to be stuck in a booth looking at the wall. (The tables did NOT fill up while we were there.)"

  • "Wonderful service, food prepared beautifully, beautiful setting....the only slight negative would be the portion sizes. I understand gourmet, small plates and multiple courses, but I would say this was more "tiny" sized than "small". My daughter and I both ordered the "dessert sampling for two" and each ate our own. We are both 5'3" and 110lbs and had just eaten 4 courses. We did eat every morsel and everything was wonderful."
