  • "First time to this restaurant on Easter. This place had excellent food options everything was fresh and tasted excellent. The lighting is beautiful and the outside seating area is peaceful . I will def be back to enjoy another lunch or dinner :)"

  • "Easter brunch was great, except for the desert table. Pies look like they came from Publix and the cake selection was unremarkable and also appeared to be store bought. The only saving grace was the macarons. They were quite good."

  • "Very, very nice setting! The expansive buffet was well laid out and the food quality was high. Food was kept fresh and selection was quite broad. Efficient, professional and courteous staff all around. Great value for special occasion."

  • "In a hotel service was great, food was average. I would go back."

  • "I met several colleagues for dinner at Pelagia. The food was great - particularly the brussel sprout salad (you must try before you wrinkle your nose). Service was efficient. I am not sure if we went on an 'off night' - Wednesday - or if they just aren't very busy after 7:00 but the place was pretty much empty and, therefore, quiet. If the dining room had been full it would likely have been pretty loud. "

  • "pizza said stone oven, of which it was, but note that it's not Naples Italy style (Neapolitan) pizza crust like in downtown Tampa, the crust is not very good, but everything else was great, including the house red win (Cab) was great"

  • "Amazing food and service in a beautiful restaurant."

  • "The Roasted Brussel Sprout salad was unique and delicious and the Veal Milanese was exquisite - the most flavorful and tender veal I have had in years! The Roasted Duck Breast was also lovely. Couldn't have been more pleased with the food. A delightful atmosphere to celebrate a special occasion."

  • "i say Italian influence because i would have like to have seen more Italian meals, such as Chicken or Veal Parmesan or the like. The only downfall is the lack of a proper greeting by a host/hostess. The waitress was exceptional and the food superb! The ambiance was very nice and quiet. You must try the garlic stuffed olives! Wish we had room for dessert!"

  • "Our server Lee was great, he gave us menu suggestions that were very helpful. Great service and food. We loved the meat and cheese board!"

  • "My family visited Tampa before leaving for a cruise. We dined in the hotel restaurant and we pleasantly surprised at the excellent service and great food. Our server bent over backwards to accommodate us (thank you!). The food was creative and delicious. Portions were suitable. Prices were very reasonable. There weren't many people in this restaurant which was too bad. They're missing out!"

  • "Great restaurant and service directly adjacent to International Mall. After a long day of shopping Pelagia is the place to go to unwind and pamper yourself. The manager and his staff always treat you like you are the only customer in the place. The food and drink are par excellent. The winning chef is extremely accommodating , as far as customizing the menu items to satisfy everyone ."

  • "We chose to try Pelagia Trattoria after checking out the menu and wine list on line. We were surprised to see so few patrons on a Sunday evening, but it allowed us to order each course individually, since the kitchen was not very busy. Grilled octopus was a superb appetizer. Fried stuffed olives, not so much. Half orders of the pasta dishes are a great idea, after which we could enjoy a shared entre of duck...outstanding. Service was fine, but with so few patrons, you would not expect anything less. Our only and major objection to the evening was the flying gnats which were REALLY annoying. Might go back, might not."

  • "We have been here several times for dinner and always enjoy it. I am amazed that they are never crowded. We had family in town and needed a place for a Sunday brunch for 10 people. They were very accommodating. They gave us a private room and even kept the buffet open past the normal shut down time of 11 am."

  • "Super Brussels sprout salad. The grilled sea bass was moist and very flavorful. The black squid seafood pasta dish was terrific. The scallops out of thus world."

  • "This would be a great 5 star establishment if is wasn't for the poor service. My wife and I dined here Saturday evening 2/15. The place was busy no doubt because of Valentines Weekend. The service started out okay as we had a few questions about menu items and the server was quick to respond. We ordered our meals and never saw our server again until we flagged her down 15 minutes after we had finished our meals. Not once did she come by to refill drinks, ask us how our meals were. We had to wait even just to wave her down because she was no where to be seen. If you are going to spend $90+ dollars on a meal for two I expect a fine dining level of service. I get that they were busy but, a manager or someone could have come by to check on us."

  • "We had a reservation on Valentine's night for 8:30. Upon arrival, we were told our table wasn't ready so we asked the hostess if she'd come get us at the bar when it was ready. At 9:10, I returned to the hostess station to ask if our table was available. On the way, I noticed several vacant tables in the dining room. The hostess said a table had just opened (surprise, surprise!) and proceeded to seat the two of us at a long banquet table in a private room with no other guests! When I asked if we could be seated in the main dining room, she seemed surprised but took us to a table. Bizarro. The food is usually good, but seemed uninspired on this night. Recommendation: don't dine here on a busy night."

  • "A modern twist on with all the menu items! From wine to salad to pasta to dessert…everything was simply delicious!"
    Dined on 2/11/2014
  • "Our entrees were excellent. We had the gnocchi with braised short ribs and the squid ink linguini. Although the waiter recommended the calamari and/or crabcake as an appetizer we tried the bruscetta and that was a mistake. It really seems these were bruscetta crackers from a box and not fresh or recently toasted at all.. I'd avoid the bruscetta - a pretty significant disconnect from the rest of the experience. The atmosphere is probably better for breakfast or lunch. It is bright and colorful and it is not 'romantic' or charming in any way. It feels like a hotel restaurant but I'd have to say that the entrees were excellent and worth the visit."

  • "They were super happy to have someone come in on Superbowl night. Dinner was a super yummy salad with balsamic dressing and the Short rib risotto was tasty and rich - had it for lunch the next day. The ambiance was kinda upscale hotel. I don't know Tampa other than the few days I was there but feel like there were not a lot of great options."

  • "My husband discovered this restaurant a year ago when staying at the Renaissence Hotel. We have eaten here now 4 times. We live in Los Angeles but my mom in law lives in Tampa so we are there from time to time. Excellent pizzas and pasta and, rare in Tampa, some inventive salad choices. The shaved brussel sprout salad is delicious. Their sausage and broccoli rabe pizza comes with home made ricotta. My very picky mom in law is happy to eat their veal chop. Service has been attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Only peeve - turn up the lights a touch folks - we are all over 50 and can't see in the dim lights (one star off for that on ambience - because I like to see what I'm eating, never mind read the menu)."

  • "We live on the west coast of Florida and have spent 2 Christmases in the Tampa area. This is the 2nd time we have had Christmas dinner at Pelagia Trattoria. It is superb! There is something for everyone. The selection of salads, meats, and deserts are something to behold."

  • "This was my first time at this restaurant. Going in I knew the charge was crazy for my 16 year old son, who eats light and prefers the offerings of a kiddie menu. My son ate a bite of the prime rib and a slice of pizza. The caprese was not the best I have had. The tomatoes were too meaty and pale in color for me. Not what I am accustomed to. I like them nice, bright and ripe. The salmon was ok, prime rib ok, I prefer my shrimp to be cooked a bit more so I passed on them and the pizza just ok. The oysters were my favorite. Overall an average meal that for $45.00 a head was overpriced. Nothing wowed me in flavor or quality. I would like to give them a try again when ordering off the menu. The server was attentive."

  • "What an awesome time my group and I had at your restaurant, from the minute we arrived to the second we left. Food was incredible and your service was outstanding. Lee our server was just out of this world, his recommendations were spot on for what we asked him for. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Had to ask for service four times; eight of us were in a private dining room and they kept forgetting about us. took 30 minutes to get water and menus. Ordered two bottles of wine which also took extradorinarily long. later they brought us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert. Not sure if our server was in training, or what, but totally unacceptable service. Food, however, when it arrived, was excellent."

  • "Recently returned to Pellagio for a late night dinner and overall was a good experience with some highs and some lows. The must try dish of the evening was the select your own meat and cheese appetizer board which was fantastic and exceeded expectations for quality and quantity and was a great with a bottle of Merryvale. Salads were about on par with what was expected but no "Wow' factor and the pizza was mediocre at best and was left and not taken home. Service was "off" this night with the strange sensation of tables left uncleared all around us as we dined. Servers were satnding around but not required to be busy with bussing table I guess. Our waitress was OK for dinner and then "missing" when we breakfasted there the next day."
