Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great location with a view of Downtown Chicago. The waiter misunderstood my order and brought me the wrong item. However, when I told him what happened, he was able to quickly get me a new order (no additional charge). We just love your Saganaki (flaming cheese). The entrees and desserts were great too. We will be back."

  • "While Pegasus makes really good gyros, and other Greek standards, be sure to try some mew dishes. For us, that was shrimp and feta appetizer - outstanding. Trust your wait staff, open wide and enjoy."

  • "I haven't been to Chicago much recently so I took my daughter and son-in-law for dinner. It was Marvelous. The food was great and the service outstanding. The baklava topped everything off with just the right amount of sweetness. If I lived there I'd go at least once a month!"

  • "The food was not very good , especially for the price!"

  • "I felt like I was in a diner. The lights were so bright that it didn't seem like we were having a nice dinner out. Our server, Dino, was great. I ordered the special lamb shank with a lemon dill sauce and it was relish. My husband had the special grouper. I had a taste and was disappointed. For dessert we split baklava and it was not the best. It just didn't seem fresh. With other Greek restaurants so close, this would not be my first choice."

  • "Pegasus is a great Greek Town staple. They were a bit packed tonight and our waitress was definitely less attentive than preferred. The manager made a stop by at the table at one point to chat about the wine list and olive oil making process which was really friendly. Gave us a free baklava for a birthday dessert."

  • "Went to Pegasus before a Blackhawk game... Food and Service were Both superb.... Well priced wine List.... Complimentary valet parking.... Was not rushed and out in plent of time to make it to the United Center... This is a no brainer....... You'll love Pegasus"

  • "Wasn't sure what to expect. The ambiance is clean but somewhat over the top / cheesy Greek design. Very large restaurant so it never felt "busy" and we were there on a Friday night. The server was somewhat pushy but honest and dead on when it came to what was good and what wasn't. Tough to get a special order or any sort of modification out of him. At one point we asked if they had a specific item and he said, "in Greece you can get that, we do not serve it here". Surprisingly though, the food was great. I don't plan on going back, but I wasn't disappointed that I went."

  • "Food and service were awesome. We had a great time. The family style is the way to go."

  • "Pegasus is a good choice for dining with a large group. The staff is friendly and outgoing, thrilled to offer advice, and fairly heavy-handed when pushing the daily specials. This would be ok, but the specials are not always the best option. It's a much better idea to go with the more than competent executions of classics like gyros, spanakopita, moussaka, kotopoulo souvlaki, etc."

  • "We've been to Pegasus for both lunch and dinner numerous time and have never had a bad experience. The food is always great with lots of variety (beef, lamb, chicken, seafood, veggie). The servers always treat you like welcomed family. We've never sat on the roof during nice weather but will definitly do that this year. The scenic view is the inside. It's bright and fresh and feels like Greece. We can't comment on the bar or wine service - we really aren't drinkers although it has a nice bar area. We go for the food and atmosphere and are never disappointed. The prices are very reasonable which makes the experience even better (as does the complimentary parking - not sure if that's all the time but it's been everytime we've been there.)"

  • "Whether it's for a business lunch, date night or group event, Pegasus delivers wonderful, authentic Greek cuisine in a relaxing and friendly environment every time. It's our favorite in Greek Town and we've tried them all."

  • "This was our first time at this restaurant in Greek Town. We have frequented others many times. Overall feel of the space was very cold and generic. The host and we assume owner was very nice and accommodating however the waitress was terrible. Short tempered and very unfriendly and that was reflected in the service. The food was very average with the salads being the best part, plain lettuce with Greek dressing. If it wasn't for the convenience of the location and proximity to the United Center, we would not recommend this over any number of far better restaurants in the area."

  • "Delightful owner and pushy but good server who had good sense of humor. Gyros and special Tzatziki sauce was outstanding. Most other dishes were fine but not exceptional"

  • "After eating among different restaurants in Greektown, I would say the food rates average. Nothing over the top, just a good place to get your basics. The cocktail menu is pretty innovative though, and we enjoyed a few really good suggested drinks before dinner. For dinner, the grilled octopus is OK, and the Alexander Salata is a little different than the original dressing we had at Alexander's Restaurant on 79th Street back in the day. Probably wouldn't get it again. The moussaka is OK, but we like Greek Islands version better."

  • "A great place in the Greektown!! Always friendly and courteous staff. They make you feel welcomed, everyone is a regular! GREAT FOOD!! A great place before an event at the stadium! Catch a dinner before the game!"

  • "We arrived early for our seating, and that was not a problem for the host. The waiter was prompt in taking our beverage and food order, although we had to ask about specials as we had heard another waiter offering them. Once served, the waiter did not check back with us. Once the busperson had cleared our table, we sat for fifteen minutes before our waiter noticed that our table was empty and approached us asking if we'd like coffee. We had to ask for the dessert menu. He had been serving tables near to us during this entire time. As we were leaving, my husband noted to the host that our waiter had "disappeared" for thirty minutes. Instead of any kind of apology, this was met with stunned silence."

  • "Pegasus is not the prettiest nor the fanciest Greek place in town, however the food is very good, the prices are very reasonable and the servers try very hard to make sure that you have a great dining experience. Probably not the spot to go to celebrate your ten year wedding anniversary, however, to have a good meal on a Friday night, it's superb!"

  • "Perfect stop before a game at the United Center. Our waiter, Yianni, was very friendly and provided excellent service. The food was great and timely. We particularly enjoyed the hummus and the saganaki."

  • "Fun place! And some of the best Greek food in Chicago. The Mousaka was superb (so many restaurants put potatoes into the Mousaka, which I think takes away from the flavors and of course takes the place of a more expensive ingredient); they did serve potatoes on the side which is fine and tasty as a side dish. The braised lamb special was really flavorful and tender. Infact all 4 of us enjoyed their meal. We also had a fun and excellent server which added to the evening."

  • "Honestly, no flames, opas, etc, only aromatic aromas coming from the kitchen, delicious savory food, and friendly service from waiters! need I say more."

  • "We chose this restaurant because we were headed to a Blackhawks game and it was convenient. The food was excellent, the waitress-in-training OUTSTANDING, and we got to the game in time. Never were we rushed, the waitress was VERY courteous and accommodating of our time crunch, and th food was delicious. Free valet parking was a bonus. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!"

  • "We took a very important client for lunch and they were extremely impressed with our choice. Mostly due to the server as she made our meal very enjoyable. We followed her recommendations based on her personality and she was right. Everyone was extremely pleased with their food and service."

  • "The food was just alright, at best. The flaming cheese should not have been the high point, but it was. Never again."

  • "Had not been to Greek Town in a long time...Pegasus will bring us back in the near future. Our food was exceptional...but our waiter made the dining experience. He was jubilant...helpful...and put us in a holiday mood before the Holiday Concert we were attending. Could not have had a nicer dining experience that evening."

  • "The food was okay. I have been to a few other places in Greek Town and have had better experiences. My meal arrived cold, and took another 5-10 to actually find my waiter to ask to heat it back up. We rarely saw our waiter as the restaurant spread him across two different sections. The bus boy was far more attentive than our actual waiter. Doubt I will return."

  • "Our meals were excellent.....fabulous village salad followed by spanakopita and jumbo shrimp and vegetables that were perfectly grilled. Service was excellent but not intrusive - our server was knowledgable and friendly. It was a great experience."

  • "We went for dinner this past Saturday and had a wonderful time. Will definitely be back. My only complaint is that I felt a bit rushed and our reservation was at 8 and we were done by 9:30 so it wasn't as if we were lingering guests...."

  • "Went there for a bite to eat before the Hawks game on a Sunday night. The place filled but not packed. The hospitality was GREAT!! Food was delicious!! Had a great meal, wine and dessert and to the game on time! Will definitely go back!!"

  • "We had friends relocate to Chicago and met them there for dinner. It was the first time at Pegasus for all of us. I was impressed by the hospitality when we first walked in and it just got better and better as the evening progressed. The food was amazing. You don't find skate wing offered on many menus and I was thrilled to see they had it. AMAZING; prepared to perfection as was everything else."

  • "We were the only diners for a late lunch. The entire staff was professional, lunch was very good, and we were made to feel perfectly comfortable at the sole occupied table. A second table filled as we were leaving. Not sure why this happened. Perhaps it was just the time. We arrived at 2:30. Service was excellent, and the lunch (fish) also very good. One of the best things was that the restaurant was comfortably warm on a cold and raw afternoon. We will definitely go again."

  • "We decided to show our guests a bit of Greektown in Chicago and they loved it. We decided to order all appetizers and salad rather than dinners so they could taste lots of different things. It was definitely the way to go as everything disappeared off the plates! We had the Horiatiki salad, spannikopita, dolmades, smelt, saganaki, grilled octopus, gyros, and a Greek red and a Greek white wine, suggested by our server. She was very helpful and the wait staff was very attentive. We were greeted by the manager, I believe, and he came over to check how we were doing. When the warm weather returns, I would recommend the rooftop for appetizers and drinks with friends!"
